***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

also to catch up what I am surmising I missed out on based on later posts and quotes...
I don't wear makeup. I barely have the time/gumption to get myself dressed in the morning, let alone put on makeup. Also during grad school this one woman who always came in beautifully done up came in one day without makeup and everyone thought she had cancer or something. I would rather people be used to my normal plain and pallid self than think I am dying of some horrific disease when I get lazy or busy one day.

Also I am not trying to lose 10 lbs before this trip. I can't stop and start like that. After the trip I am planning to try to focus more on the healthy lifestyle again as a lifestyle. I have too much to lose to "binge diet" before a big event, I need to make real changes and the best way to derail myself is to insert a vacation 1 month after I start and then feel like a failure when I can't keep it up (i know myself). So just kind of treading water but now that we got that hour I am considering starting to do a walking video every morning I can to build up some stamina for the trip. That is a worthwhile goal!

Another women at work once told me "If you plan to take sick days, come in the day before without eye makeup. I don't know how many times I've forgotten makeup when I was rushed in the morning and people asked me if I was feeling OK or commented that I didn't look well." I've had the same experience myself, and I don't wear much makeup at all. But I've skipped the eye makeup rarely when I was really pressed for time in the morning and got similar comments. "Are you feeling alright, you don't look so well." o_O

I had a large weight loss goal before this trip, but life just isn't working out that way. I'm pretty stressed right now and that would only make it worse. So I'm trying to "behave" before the trip, but I agree that it's hard to start and stop. I hope I can focus more after the trip. The holidays will be an issue, but I tend to do best over the winter months when I'm stuck inside more anyway.

***** Another Question *****
For those wearing makeup, what do you wear in Disney?

I have dry/oily skin. I still break out in my t-zone so I have to be careful with how much I put on my face. Right now at home I wear moisturizer, BB cream, water proof mascara, and some lip gloss. Every now and then I'll add eye shadow. In Disney, I usually just wear the BB cream, as it has SPF 30 in it. But, when I look at my pictures I just so bad! I'm definitely wearing the mascara every day.

I have combination skin and wear a tiny bit of concealer under my eyes and around my nose followed by a light powdered foundation or BB cream, waterproof mascara and eyeliner (sometimes eyeshadow, depending on heat level), a little blush and lipsense lipgloss. I then use Urban Decay all nighter spray to set it all.

LOL, I usually have his stuff but forget my stuff. I tend to overpack especially with snacks and need to bring everything back. I guess I need to learn to be a little like you so my back does not kill me by the end of the day :D
the big thing honestly I am trying to figure out is his medication. We are on a good routine during the week but it is very difficult when we are out of the routine on the weekends. He gets 3 doses a day and I need to figure out the timing so that he is happiest and I'm thinking of counting back from when I think bedtime will be (right now his last dose is 5.5 hours before bedtime and that works really well). He has ADHD in addition the autism and is REALLY disregulated when he is not on the meds... when he is on the meds he doesn't get frustrated (much, I mean everyone does but not to the point of melting down) and takes things in stride, is a lot more calmer. Without he is constantly stimming and on a hair trigger for a meltdown. To me, managing this with everything else will be the key. Also he has no appetite when he is on the meds so I'm kind of hoping to manage meals in such a way that he gets his first dose at breakfast and a dose with dinner so that he has some appetite as the last dose is wearing off. If I knew where we'd be now when I made my plans I would have maybe spaced meals based on that but with TS you can never be exactly sure when you're going to eat. it will be an adventure for sure. I think though he should be mostly fine since it will be all about fun and he will be getting plenty of stimulation.

yeah me too. I had 11 whole months to get it together but life is SO stressful it feels like all I can do to keep my head above water some days. Here in summer it is tough because everything is open. Now with 3/4 of the restaurants and all of the ice cream shops closed it is a lot easier... I am not a huge salad person (which is more the summer healthy eating) but I make a ton of soups and stews and chili (healthy) in the winter. I just need to get some exercise in. Also I do not like to be hot so although it seems like summer would be better for activity, I'd rather do it when it's cold out and my small a/c is not struggling to keep my apartment under 78 degrees. All excuses I realize haha, but I just need enough breaks to be able to do what I know I need to do and haven't been getting them lately.

I've never gotten the comment because I only wear make up at special occasions. But I have seen girls wear make up really beautifully (especially Koreans for some reason...?) . They do get that comment. I've even heard one of my guy friends say that he did not recognize the girl when he met her one morning! :scared1:

There could be some benefit to that I think. It might be nice some times to not be recognized in public by some people (i.e. creepy coworkers).

So what are you all ordering for BOG breakfast? I'm torn because I want a cinnamon roll from Gastons! :rotfl2:

EDIT: Anyone like the Master's cupcake?

The Feast for me. I haven't bothered showing the menu to DH yet.

Edited to add: We should get our cinnamon roll fix from breakfast at Garden Grill. Those things look crazy!

I was the worst prepared mom in the world ever. I swear when kiddo was little my "diaper bag" consisted of a ziploc bag in which I kept two diapers, a travel pack of wipes and another ziploc for dirty diaper. that's it. that got stuck in my purse. He was exclusively breastfed so I never had to worry about bottles or formula or anything. I never had baggies of goldfish crackers, I never had anything lol. I was NOT the mom to ask "excuse me, do you have a xx?" because I wouldn't have it.
Haha, this makes me laugh! The exception is Disney, but in our day to day life, I'm never prepared. The other day, we were at Super Target, and DD2 had a massive blowout in the shopping cart. Of course I didn't have a spare out fit and I didn't want to buy one either so the gal that came over to help me, was great and I handed her a $20. I ended up coming back later in the day, alone to shop.

Yeah, after a day or two in the parks, you'll know what essentials you'll want for your little man.

Lol on makeup. Once a girl I worked with came in one morning obviously doing the walk of shame and had no make up on. She sat at her desk and our boss asked her why she was sitting in Joannes desk...then he realized it was her! :rotfl2: that was awesome but she was so embarrassed!
What's everyone take in their park bags?

I need to do a trial run to see if the backpack we are planning to take will fit everything. If not, I will have to do more shopping!

Sunscreen, band aids, wipes, ponchos (if rain forecasted), small snack bag for dd, water bottle, phone charger, park day plans, index cards and clipboard for autographs, 1 costume for dd smushed in a zip lock bag. I also will wear a cross body purse (small) for my travel wallet, sharpie, pen, sunglasses and lip balm.

I've heard they don't accept driver's licenses for Canadians too so I need to bring photocopies of our passports everywhere... such a PITA.
seriously? Like do they ask for ID in the parks???:confused3

Y'all don't even know how jealous I am of those who don't have to wear it all the time. Like when I say I look sick without it, I mean like my under eye circles look like bruises, and it's not from lack of sleep. I generally get my 8 hours every night, but my skin is just like translucent, you can practically see my veins. On the other hand, I am super blessed that I don't have very problematic skin as far as breakouts, but my 5-10 minute makeup routine is definitely a must-do. I do need to pick up a new eyeliner though. The one I have now was from some freebie gift bag, and it tends to wear off and smear under my eyes (even when I don't put it on the bottom lid!) by the very end of the evening. I need to go back to one of the liquid liners I was using before that stayed put. I'm not a big mascara wearer either, thankfully my lashes are pretty dark and thick naturally. Plus, I can never find one I'm happy with. I don't like that dry feeling at the end of the day that most of them give me.

Alcohol. ;)

The last time we were there, I got ID'd a LOT. I don't know if it was a new thing, or if it was because generally if I'm using a card, it's my debit card, and it's not a bank they recognize?

external battery charger for cell phone (still shopping around for this. I want one powerful enough to charge mine and roomie's phones an additional full charge and with 2 usb ports so we could charge at the same time, but also not crazy heavy/bulky. My ideal goal is to have something that while we're sitting down to eat or something, we can plug in and charge at the table.)

I've had good experiences with Anker products. You can check out the dimensions/weight to see if they would work. These both have 2 usb ports for charging.

The Pho totally hit the spot. In fact, we're having it again tonight.

I went ahead and printed off the MVMCP guide. I'm trying to piece together some sort of an itinerary for us for that night. Like I said, we'll probably go ahead and see the first parade, but as long as the girls are okay, we'll stay for the second. We decided that we're going to have an early lunch (11:30) lunch at Morimoto's in DS. I didn't want to use 2 credits for it, and so lunch it is. They're menu makes me salivate.

For dinner, we may eat at the Contempo Cafe. I really want to try their Lobster roll and peanut butter pie. Otherwise it'll probably be Casey's. I just prefer the desserts at the Contempo!

Tomorrow we can place our order for our BOG lunch. :)
Try the ribs at Morimoto's! So. Good.

Hello everyone! Popping in to say hi. It seems most of you guys are less than 30 days now. How exciting! The Disney stork is starting to drop Magic Bands in your mailboxes so it's getting real close......finally.

@DisneyBelle27 congrats on the Savor the Savannah tour. I'm jealous!!! I really wanted to experience a tour at AK but everything is 8 years old and up so that would mean DS2 is a no go. Hope you have a great time!

@Candycane83 I totally agree with the little guy being a freebie! My first thought a year ago when this trip was just an idea was that I DID NOT want to bring a toddler to DW. I told myself when DS is totally done with diapers then we will go. But it does make sense to do it now before he is 3. I did a rough estimate of the extra cost of paying for a 4th person and it adds up quickly!!!

In other news.....I have a confession to make. I booked another extra. This time it was Illuminations dessert party. I think I might have a dessert party addiction :confused3. I know we were talking about this one, oh about 100 pages ago and it seemed like a good one. I was considering the Illuminations cruise but I kind of felt it was too expensive for what they're offering. So just tallying up my "extras" it seems I've gone a little overboard.
-MVMCP (not really an "extra" because if your there in December I consider it a must-do. But it does cost "extra" so I guess it qualifies)
-Illuminations Dessert party
-Club Villian
-JBJB dessert party
-Holiday wishes dessert party
-Carriage ride at Fort Wilderness
-2 cakes

I'm really looking forward to them but I think I need an intervention at this point. Maybe I should have someone change my MDE login info. and not tell me what it is until the morning we leave for Orlando.

On the bright side. I'm really not much for shopping so I've been able to resist the urge to over do it on the Disney related clothes/gear. Someone please tell me I'm "normal" and everything will be ok.:goodvibes
I booked the Illuminations party as well. . .
You are normal. :joker:Everything will be ok. :grouphug:

For alcoholic drinks, they ask for a valid ID and valid ID for nay foreigners mean passport... I look underage so I always need to carry ID with me. And I want a margarita! LOL! Plus for dessert party (i.e. jbjb), I think they said same thing, they will not serve alcoholic drinks if you don't have ID.

Got the second one you posted! :) I got it a few months ago and like it. Don't use it much at home but the few times I did, it works well.

Oh, I can so relate. . . :drinking1why do you think I usually bring my son by myself? Lol! He is better now, has more patience, but he can still get Grumpy in the parks!

Cheers! :drinking1
