also to catch up what I am surmising I missed out on based on later posts and quotes...
I don't wear makeup. I barely have the time/gumption to get myself dressed in the morning, let alone put on makeup. Also during grad school this one woman who always came in beautifully done up came in one day without makeup and everyone thought she had cancer or something. I would rather people be used to my normal plain and pallid self than think I am dying of some horrific disease when I get lazy or busy one day.
Also I am not trying to lose 10 lbs before this trip. I can't stop and start like that. After the trip I am planning to try to focus more on the healthy lifestyle again as a lifestyle. I have too much to lose to "binge diet" before a big event, I need to make real changes and the best way to derail myself is to insert a vacation 1 month after I start and then feel like a failure when I can't keep it up (i know myself). So just kind of treading water but now that we got that hour I am considering starting to do a walking video every morning I can to build up some stamina for the trip. That is a worthwhile goal!
Another women at work once told me "If you plan to take sick days, come in the day before without eye makeup. I don't know how many times I've forgotten makeup when I was rushed in the morning and people asked me if I was feeling OK or commented that I didn't look well." I've had the same experience myself, and I don't wear much makeup at all. But I've skipped the eye makeup rarely when I was really pressed for time in the morning and got similar comments. "Are you feeling alright, you don't look so well."

I had a large weight loss goal before this trip, but life just isn't working out that way. I'm pretty stressed right now and that would only make it worse. So I'm trying to "behave" before the trip, but I agree that it's hard to start and stop. I hope I can focus more after the trip. The holidays will be an issue, but I tend to do best over the winter months when I'm stuck inside more anyway.
