***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

@Candycane83 snd anyone else with a ppo Akershus breakfast ( I think @Mintycake maybe?) are you thinking chances are good of getting a Fea fp? I honestly didn't even think twice about it until now, but in the event that I cannot book a time for the one day we're there, do you think the ppo breakfast will allow us to ride fea with a pretty minimal wait? I read the threads back when it first opened, but I haven't followed them in months.
Hi sorry it's been a bit since I've come on the board but noticed I was tagged. I am really hoping to FP FEA but I have the PPO Akershus meal just in case it doesn't happen. I really don't want to rush Akershus (because it's PRINCESSES and my daughter will be loving it) plus I hate rushing through meals. If I can't get FP for FEA my strategy will be to do the Akershus breakfast (it's for 8:25am but I hear they will let you in as early as 8am and we will tell them when we sit down we want to settle the bill. Then hopefully we can do the princesses and get in line for FEA. But even if I can't get FEA at 60 days I will be trying like a maniac until we leave to see if one opens up. I like the strategy of FP FEA better than RD or PPO because if the ride goes down, Disney will usually issue a new FP to use. We have 2 days in Epcot and ideally I want to do FEA twice (once each day with a FP).

Epcot is definitely not as coherent as it once was and is going through changes. I don't like mission space and miss the old horizons. Test track is meh to me too. Soarin' is AWESOME and an improvement over whatever b-level attraction it replaced (I think it was a movie or something). Old Figment better than new figment and they did a crappy job updating that IMO. I do love the nemo overlay on the living seas and turtle talk is really cute and fun. it's just kind of a mixed bag. I haven't seen guardians of the galaxy but I am not hopeful of the overlay they are doing at Disneyland on the tower of terror. I love the twilight zone one and not knowing when i'll go back I'm going to HAVE to do that one once more before they potentially ruin it forever in the next few years.
Ah, I remember Ellen's energy before Ellen was part of it (I think it was still Exxon?) The dinosaurs were so cool but I think it would scare the crap out of my DD. It may be a ride we do after we drop her at the kids club and go back to Epcot (just me and DH) as I'd like to see it. I'm sad that Figment was updated, I loved the original Figment. :( As for Tower of Terror, I know DD would NOT be down for that so unfortunately it's a skip on our list.

In other words....FP day is Oct 3 for me and I still have no clue. :( I tried to buy the Touring plans subscription with a discount code from Mousesavers and it didn't work.

I am so stressed today. Leaving for our trip to Oregon tomorrow and I haven't packed for me, my DH or the kids. Still need to do laundry so that I can pack. I'm terrified I'm going to forget something. I was working from home today to multitask, but actual work railroaded the multitasking. And, then I have drama on my disney trip front. My friend is traveling with us and we can't seem to get her linked to me on MDE. I think the problem is that she created her MDE account using an email she doesn't use a lot and booked some ADRs on it. The travel agent booked the trip under the email she normally uses (hence creating a new MDE in the process). I never knew about the alternate email account, so I've been trying to connect with her MDE account with her regular email, and now everything is "stuck". We have dining reservations across 3 MDE accounts and we can't connect her to mine or my husbands. Ugh! The travel agent has been trying to sort it all out with little luck and I'm starting to think that Disney IT is going to get involved. We have about two weeks until FP day and I really hope it all gets rectified before then.

Try the code UMBRELLA for touring plans - got me 20% off

And I'm with you - the old figment was such a favorite of mine. We didn't go on the new one last trip because I'm too sad about it haha

Just call Disney IT and have them connect you properly. Things get messed up when people create multiple accounts. And sometimes things go wrong even when everyone only has one account.

I think I have had to call Disney IT a couple of times to link up accounts when traveling with families and friends who had their own account.

Here are two things that worked for me:

You might want to have your friend send you an invitation to become friends with her. I've had that work when i couldn't get it to work when I sent the invitation.

The other thing I did when I couldn't link someone was to send the invitation using the MDE app and choose to link someone using their reservation number rather than choosing someone on your friends list. I've had that work, too.

I've also had to call IT. They are very nice and know how to fix it. :)

I've called the MDE tech support twice now, and they helped make sure all of our accounts were linked so that I could be responsible for making all fp. I had it totally messed up. All adults on own accounts, etc.. They lined it all properly with no issue. I might call again before fp day to "just make sure" and get a second opinion... Aka "the @Talby method" ( I mean that in the best way! )

Good luck with packing and wish you and your family have a great trip!! :) it's hard before the trip but it all becomes worth it later I think!

No advice on MDE, you have a few good ones already from wood nymph and rasadkowski. I'm sure you would be able to sort it out :)

I was wondering about the mvmcp.. And I was able to find a bit of info about times of the castle light up/ a Mickey and Minnie show at the castle/ parade and wishes.. But I know there are specific times and locations for other activities and meet and greets. Are these times and places posted anywhere yet or will they be? Or do we just find out day of with the event guide? Thank you :santa:

I think we would know a little before the first party... Usually the info is released by the many disney blogs. :)

Hollywood and Vine dinner on 12/7 at 5:45p for party of 4 is available right now

Edited (again!) to add: I picked up the 12/08 at 3:05p for 2 people because I could. It's sorta reflexic! Don't think it's on the spreadsheet, but if it turns out anyone can use this, just shoot me a PM. :) **Transferred**

Disney only gives out the maps and schedule for the parties when you arrive for the party. I have tried to get them sooner, but haven't been able to. But Kenny the Pirate will post the map. I have the one he posted for the Halloween party. I would think there would be one for the Christmas party, eventually. :)

Thanks for the well wishes, it's highly appreciated!

Anyway, we got our ME information today in the mail with our tags (that we won't be using, but they're still fun to receive!

I know this can be a hot button, but I feel like I could ask in this thread-- does anyone have any worry about Zika?

Me! :(

Edit: bringing bug spray even if they are providing it there. Worried about the effect on little ones too... I think it is not likely which is why I'm still going but I'll probably hold off trying for a second one until a few months after the trip.

Ugh, that is a nightmare. I hope they can get it all worked out. It really is too bad when work gets in the way of life! Hopefully you get everything done before your trip!

Yay! I wonder when I'll get my ME tags? I used the local AAA office to book my trip, which was such a waste since they don't do any discounts and my TA hasn't reached out to me or done anything.

Anywho, I am a smidge worried about Zika. Not enough to cancel the trip, but I'll bring bug spray and try to avoid standing water. But, it's Florida where the state bird is the mosquito, so it is what it is.
I went to Punta Cana last year, and was amazed the whole time about how few bugs I'd seen. I only got one mosquito bite the entire trip, on my leg. At the end of the trip, I got really sick. After suffering a couple of days at home, DH made me go to the ER. Turns out that ONE bite I got had given me the chikungunya virus. :sad2: It was awful...kind of like having food poisoning, flu, sinus infection, and severe arthritis all in one. Luckily I got over it, and now that I've had it once I can't get it again. I was hoping it would also make me immune to Zika, but from what I've read that's a no go.

Wow! I guess that goes to show it really only takes one bite, huh? We're generally past the baby-making stage and our youngest is about 8, so I'm not planning to cancel unless they start warning more about the effects on adults and other already-born people.

Yikes!!!

I'm not super worried about Zika. The bugs are pretty low in December.
No plans for new young ones here!

Yeah, that's a good idea. We'd like to add another sometime next year and if its what is it now, we'll wait a bit before trying.
