***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

we did one of these in 2014. I know at least one location is in the arcade by space mountain (pretty sure that is where we did this one). Also in the gift shop of journey into imagination. I think there are others two, those are the two I know offhand. Kiddo was begging me to do it and at the time, ONLY the one in the space mountain gift shop counted for photopass. What appeared in our account was the entire strip and then each photo individually.

I'm realizing this morning that the thing that makes ROL difficult for me isn't so much getting there, as it is needing to sacrifice a day of fastpasses somewhere else in order to see it. The Jungle Book show was pretty much a disaster, so getting in on standby probably wasn't too difficult. I expect ROL to be a different story.

FYI here is a summary of all november and december hours changes:

November
  • November 1, 4, 5 - Magic Kingdom staying open later
  • November 2, 4, 5 - Hollywood Studios closing later and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular added
  • November 1-5 - Animal Kingdom closing at 8:30 pm
  • November 7-30 - Animal Kingdom closing at 7:00 pm
December
  • December 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30 - Magic Kingdom morning Extra Magic Hour added (and the suggested parks for each day changed as a result in most cases)
  • December 30 - Magic Kingdom regular opening and closing times shortened
  • December 1-6, 8-24 - Animal Kingdom closing at 7 p.m.
  • December 7 - Animal Kingdom closing at 6:30 p.m.
  • December 25-31 - Animal Kingdom closing at 8 p.m.
  • December 25-31 - Typhoon Lagoon will be closed and Blizzard Beach will be open 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Also just for the sake of completeness, January, February and March hours at AK have been expanded to 7pm. To me that says that they are probably going to be extending the hours later in December, which is busier than those three months. Also I think it was missed that first week of november came with later closing times for HS so there is still a chance that they might expand hours (making the dessert party later than our worst case scenario) for early december. Crowds are probably about the same for early november vs. early december.

the November update is for the week BEFORE the christmas party kicks in. There is no party that week at all, it is the lull between halloween and christmas. So hoping that the next update goes clear through the end of december. MAYBE!? probably end just after thanksgiving dammit.
Thanks for posting this! Any idea as to why that one AK day 12/7 closes at 630 instead of 7?

I totally get it. I have 6 park days, and two I have to dedicate fp to AK :( kinda stinky!

I paid for memory maker on my last trip. Part of the appeal of splitting the annual pass with his father is that it included the photopass (all of the photos and stay in your account as long as the AP is active). So it was $585 for his AP so $292.50 for each of us and I would have had to buy him a 7 day parkhopper (although if the AP didn't come with parkhopping not sure I would have done parkhoppers but I might have anyway - but it was a no brainer to upgrade just myself and it HAS given me a TON of flexibility in my trip with earlier closing times than we had in september of 2014) and neither of us had to pay the $149 or $169 whatever it is for the photos. It was a tremendous deal. I should talk to his dad about nesting our trips like that in the future!

Yep, we're getting into MCO at 8pm on Oct 2 and then heading over to AoA. :flower1:Hoping ME doesn't take too long so we can grab some dinner. BTW, does anyone know what they're saying average drop off time is these days? DH is kind of hounding me to rent a car or towncar to drop us off, but I feel like it won't be *that* much quicker once you factor in waiting for cars and luggage and all that.
It usually takes no less than 1-1/2 hours from the time you exit the plane until the time you walk into your resort when we take ME. I would count on two hours at least to be safe.

we're getting in at 5 and hoping to make it to a 6:45 dinner at Sanaa. My ex was at the park (AK) I think 1.5 or 2 hours after his flight landed and that included a grocery stop (I am not making a grocery stop).

how long is it if you rent a car? do you remember? ex just went in february and already can't remember :rotfl: but at least he can remember his name, which I can't some days. I think if everything goes right it's about an hour to an hour and a half. I have the alamo whatever it is called thing.

That does seem like a great deal and it pays for itself. :) I actually saw a deal for Canadian Residents and am tempted to get it for next trip... the tickets are 25% off and it's a sizable discount when you get 10 day park hoppers... thinking I could get that for next time... which will 'force' me to go before 2018, which is the expiry. :rotfl2:really too bad i bought tickets from undercover tourist already.

Ok, those pics are ADORABLE! You both look so happy! :flower1:

I don't understand why everyone is trying to get a FP+ for ROL. Isn't it open for everyone to view it from around AK? Or is it like Fantasmic where it's in an amphitheatre?

does anyone want BOG at 6:20 for Dec 8 for 3 people? I will post on the cancellation board after if no one wants it here.

it's like Fantasmic but 3x smaller... so I think either FPs or dining package would work very well for this...

I wonder if I get a cheap enough rental car for the night, if it makes more sense for us to rent a car at the MCO, do a grocery stop, grab dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express in DS, and then go to AoA. Our bags can ride on ME (I think) so we won't have to wait for those.

The other option is to get a Garden Grocer order (which may be a stretch for us to reach the minimum), take ME, and be at their mercy, and eat dinner in the AoA food court around 10pm.

Hmm, decisions, decisions. The only con is that it may be a pain to return the rental car...not even sure where I could do that.
