***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Oh, I totally understand, I just remembered I had it but don't need it any longer. I'll keep an eye out for one on the 5th :)

The problem I have with AK is that it's SO big. It's hard to do things without backtracking or walking all over the park, especially since EMH has limited attractions. I think we're skipping Nemo this time too; only because it's totally out of the way for us unless we randomly decide to go to Dinoland.
exactly. AK wore us out last time (well I was pushing kiddo in stroller). this time I am trying to cluster things better. asia and africa are pretty dense except for everest. So dinoland first, everest maybe on the way back if kiddo will do it, then we are done with that end of the park.

The struggle is real!! I was supposed to prep my meals for this week and fold my laundry that's on the couch after I got out of work while DH was at his dart league. Instead I spent all night playing around on the Disboards with you guys, and my little dog Odie is curled up inside one of my clean t-shirts in the pile of laundry! :rotfl:
well i got my dishwasher the rest of thew ay empty and reloaded and started (ugh i ahte dishes even wtih a DW) and sorted some unfolded laundry so i could take more out of the dryer (it was all bf's stuff and is orted his stuff otu of mine and put it together wtih the dryer stuff) and got my stuff in the dryer. i think that is enough for one night!

You did so much more than I did. I had a long list of stuff (laundry & packing) that needed to be done before we go on our trip Wednesday (going to Oregon for a week) and nothing got done. Ugh! I think I won't get much sleep tomorrow night!

btw hi everyone. super busy weekend here. Tivoli day (home town street fair) and walked there and back (just a couple of miles but have been so sedentary :P), beach (just spent about an hour walking and dipping our feet in the water) and fishing saturday and then up early this morning for a kids' fishing derby, then all day at the same beach but swimming this time. I am POOPED. So apologies if I miss anything lol. Kiddo did great at the derby, caught an 11 1/2" scup (the biggest scup was 13" so not that far off of there!) and I expressed my tremendous love for him by cutting up bloody squid and baiting his hook with it yesterday and getting up at the "butt crack of dawn" as he kept saying today and baiting his hooks with minnows. I also learned the hard way not to lick the coffee off your finger when you've been baiting hooks. Single parenting a boy is not for the faint of heart :faint:

Hope everyone else had a great weekend too.

Yikes! Sounds like some yucky fun! That's funny about "butt crack of dawn", my sis says something similar about our plans for WDW and not wanting to be up at that time every day :sad2:

Oh my goodness everyone...the VERY BEST THING happened today!! Does anyone remember my babbling about how we REALLY, REALLY wanted to do Dolphins in Depth? We were quite disappointed when we found out the exhibit would be closed for refurbishment the ENTIRE month of December! Interacting with dolphins is something DD has wanted to do for as long as I can remember and I SO wanted to make that happen for her (celebrating her graduation this trip). THEY CHANGED THE REFURBISHMENT DATES AND WE ARE NOW BOOKED FOR 12/3!! And you know what the icing on the cake is? :cake:

This is the eve of DD's birthday. :bday:

Congrats on the score!!

Hello! Crazy weekend, found out my 88 year old grandma fell and is now in the hospital and will be discharged to a nursing home. She also has alzheimers that is unfortunately making her deteriorate quicker than we had anticipated. So, in light of that, the girls and I will be traveling to Arizona, in two weeks to visit her and say our first/last goodbyes (she's never met DD2). :( It's been super difficult and even harder on my mom. This upcoming trip is needed even more now.

I saw that Disney made some park hours changes so I need to read up on that. Can't believe its Monday, tomorrow! Ugh, back to the grind.

Hope everyone is well. :)

@pigletgirl I understand what you are dealing with in a sick relative although I haven't had to deal with AD. Safe travels.

Congrats on all your ADR successes! If you happen to see H&V (Minnie) FP on the 5th for 2, I'd appreciate it. I doubt it will happen, but it would be nice. Thank you

@LBlovesM&WDW I'm currently holding 2 H&V dinners on the 5th - but not the Fantasmic package. This was the day I'm planning for SW Dessert Party so I don't want to release one yet, but if there is the dessert party, I'd probably let go the one at 5:30. If you're interested, we could put it on the spreadsheet as tentative (??)

Epcot, Epcot, Epcot... spent 12 hours there in January for 15th anniversary. DH had fun even though he didn't really want to. We didn't get a drink in every country, but enjoyed what we had. We have 1.5 days planned so far, but still have one free day that could be another Epcot day. I want to let my nephew get a candy (or other treat) from each country. Not to eat all at once, but to take home with him. Also saw that you can have the CMs in each country sign something so I was planning on a small write-on picture frame. Haven't bought anything yet, but planning it ;-)

Wasn't holding my breath on ROL either, but have a couple of evenings open that we could swing by AK once more information is confirmed. Thanks for the updates and rumors on this.

Sounds like me! Came back from the Outer Banks with a cold and I'm still coughing now. I did get my laundry done - which is a huge accomplishment ;-) Back at work and thankfully mostly meeting-free for the next two days. My sister that's going with me & nephew to WDW moved down near Austin recently for work. I'm going to visit her on Thursday for a 4-day weekend. Our brother, who moved to ABQ a year ago is also meeting us there. Looking forward to some good Tex-Mex and BBQ!

I'm also excited to update her on our plans, but I know she'll just be amused at all my nuttiness. When we have gone on cruises, she knows I have my cruise peeps too! You guys and gals are so much fun.

Last year, on our party date for MNSSHP, the MB reader couldn't recognize the tickets for MNSSHP, so they were sending everyone to Guest Relations for a copy of their ticket to enter the park. Moral of the story, bring the back up hard tickets with you to the party!! (And any other hard ticket media you may have!)

Thanks for the thoughts for my grandma! (otherwise known at Nonna)

Anyway, she was moved to ICU today because of low blood pressure and an arrhythmia. She also has pneumonia from not swallowing correctly. She is just not well. The girls and I leave next Thursday to fly to AZ (booked the flight today) to be with my mom and Nonna.

The only good part out of this is that Mom and I will be able to book FP's together!

Ugh, this is tough.
I'm sorry you're going through so many rough issues but I am glad that you can be together with your family. :grouphug: sending good thoughts your way.

TWO WEEKS! in TWO WEEKS I CAN MAKE MY FP+. OMG OMG OMG
******ANIMAL SCREAM**********

:scared1:
This is exactly why I need to plan at work! I just can't plan enough even if I have a huge mound of laundry to be ironed since I started planning this Disney trip! :rotfl2:

:grouphug:@pigletgirl sorry to hear that. It's nice you and your mom can lean on each other for emotional support.

Mmmm, Tex-Mex. My sister lives outside of Houston, and I swear I eat like I'm going to the electric chair when I go visit her LOL

And this is when I start panicking!! (I think we have the same FP+ day...Oct 3?)

It really is!! DH is going to Germany and Denmark next week for work so I feel like that's when I'll be able to get the rest of my planning done.

are you checking in dec 2nd?

lol the bf being around really hinders my planning. it's like, he wants me to pay attention to HIM or something. eesh. today is his birthday, I guess I'd better step it up!

FYI here is a summary of all november and december hours changes:

November
  • November 1, 4, 5 - Magic Kingdom staying open later
  • November 2, 4, 5 - Hollywood Studios closing later and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular added
  • November 1-5 - Animal Kingdom closing at 8:30 pm
  • November 7-30 - Animal Kingdom closing at 7:00 pm
December
  • December 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30 - Magic Kingdom morning Extra Magic Hour added (and the suggested parks for each day changed as a result in most cases)
  • December 30 - Magic Kingdom regular opening and closing times shortened
  • December 1-6, 8-24 - Animal Kingdom closing at 7 p.m.
  • December 7 - Animal Kingdom closing at 6:30 p.m.
  • December 25-31 - Animal Kingdom closing at 8 p.m.
  • December 25-31 - Typhoon Lagoon will be closed and Blizzard Beach will be open 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Also just for the sake of completeness, January, February and March hours at AK have been expanded to 7pm. To me that says that they are probably going to be extending the hours later in December, which is busier than those three months. Also I think it was missed that first week of november came with later closing times for HS so there is still a chance that they might expand hours (making the dessert party later than our worst case scenario) for early december. Crowds are probably about the same for early november vs. early december.

the November update is for the week BEFORE the christmas party kicks in. There is no party that week at all, it is the lull between halloween and christmas. So hoping that the next update goes clear through the end of december. MAYBE!? probably end just after thanksgiving dammit.

Yep, we're getting into MCO at 8pm on Oct 2 and then heading over to AoA. :flower1:Hoping ME doesn't take too long so we can grab some dinner. BTW, does anyone know what they're saying average drop off time is these days? DH is kind of hounding me to rent a car or towncar to drop us off, but I feel like it won't be *that* much quicker once you factor in waiting for cars and luggage and all that.

I just found out that photos from photo booths are added to your Memory makers as long as you tap the Mickey Head. You won't get the actual strip but they will appear in your account!! So cool!...

@LisaF our RO check-in date in 11/26, Package 11/27. MDE currently says I can make FP+ on 9/28 but I hoping it will open on 9/27.
