***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

It depends on how much they extend the park hours. My guess and this is only a guess you could see a 6:00 and 8:00 show or maybe 6:30 and 8:30. I don't think the park stays open any later than 9 in the winter but then moves back to a 10-11PM close in the summer.
My guess would be park hours are extended to 8 or 9 in the winter with rivers of light. Then in the summer 10-11.
well I hope you are right. I have followed enough to know that your guesses are as good as (if not better!) than anyone else's. Plus your guesses make me feel better so let's go with that (don't worry, no psychotic internet midlife crisis mom stalking will happen if they are wrong!)

8 would be doable with a FP+ and a 5pm CA Grill ADR (I have a car would drive straight from there to AK). 8:30 even better, a little time to enjoy the awakenings and stuff. I am guessing I can probably realistically be there by 7 so even 7:30 MIGHT be doable, it would just feel rushed to me.... but was for some weird reason looking at the time stamps on my ca grill dinner photos from 2014 with ADR right at open and was out of there around 6:30 even with 3 courses. I want to do this but I don't want to give anything up for it. The struggle is real, as in life! I want it all! :rotfl:

thanks for taking the time to visit our thread and give your input! I have days (sometimes weeks) when I don't get out and about much on the DIS but I always check into this thread. thanks for bringing the outside in ;)

@rteetz info makes me hopeful. I think you would be able to make it, we just have to be a little more patient... SWaGS schedule is out for the first week of November so we have a month to be patient for that, ROL and FPs!!! So much to look forward to ;)
ugh I keep missing the star wars updates because that thread stops notifying me. They just extended it one more week into november? I am KIND of hoping this means that the next update will be clear into the holidays in one fell swoop! with us sandwiched between like the yummy cream in an oreo with doublestuff lol.

Ugh, I thought it was just me. For some reason I stop getting updates from that thread all the time!

I'm assuming that's your party day? Not sure if it makes a difference but I read on the Christmas party thread that Mickey may meet in a Christmas costume ! After the party starts though... They said he met in it last year

Eek!! I am so excited about this RoL update!! I've had this whole pm AK evening on edge trying to plan just for this show:scared1: I am hoping we get an official announcement soon! Maybe before the 16? So I can breathe a bit! It'd be nice if fp were book able for everyone in the next week .. ( asking for too much?) ::yes::

Okay, I have come up with 3 viable options for experiencing ROL w/ a fastpass:

1. On our EMM day (Tuesday 11/29) - I could just make fastpasses for AK and we could hop over there after lunch and spend the evening there. We're doing Epcot rope drop the next day, but if we did the early ROL it wouldn't get too late. I had planned to stay until the first Frozen Holiday Wish and then go to Whispering Canyon for dinner, but we can do that another night.

2. On Saturday, 12/3, we had planned to rope drop AK for emh and then hop to DHS that afternoon. The new plan would be rope drop AK emh, then do breakfast at Boma at 10:55, then head back to AK for the afternoon/evening and do ROL w/ fastpass.

3. On Sunday, 12/4, we're planning to be at MK for rope drop (party day) and we have Crystal Palace at 10:30-ish. We could hop over to AK for the afternoon/evening. I don't have anything else planned this day so it would feel a little better to me than option #1, but I'm a little more concerned about what we can accomplish at MK without fastpasses. This option probably requires the least amount of juggling, so in that way it's probably the best option. We are planning on Epcot the next day and we don't need to rope drop it, so we're okay there.

Thoughts?

I stop getting alerts too but I always check it when I see it on top. I figure it stopped again. I missed the ROL news because the thread I follow stopped alerting me too... That one seems harder to follow since it's more buried. I think there is info until the first week of November only and it follows the same trend. I think yulilin3 is saying that the dessert party times will get updated soon.

there is no tiered FP+ at AK and not a ton of super compelling rides needing FP+ either. it should be easy to drop one for RoL if you need to.

I would pick 12/4... Least amount of juggling. For FPs, I think you have other days in MK so you would be fine. Not sure if you plan to utilize SDFP but that would be helpful... :) other days seem doable too, you could actually move your WCC dinner to 12/4 too if you prefer option 1.

I think you can get a fair bit done during RD at MK. What is it in general that you are hoping to accomplish there? when i checked wait times a half hour after opening today they were all 5-10 minutes except the biggies. I think in the first couple of hours you could get a lot done, this is why people like RD :)

that said the juggling you'd have to do is minimal to do it for option 1 and I would probably do that. EMM into rope drop seems to be a REALLY successful way to tour the parks without FP+

I am planning similar, I am doing an extra magic hours morning at HS to do the biggies then touring without FP+ (but probably SDFP but I might not even need those honestly because it's mostly for shows) and saving my FP+ for AK RoL at night.

It is our party day... in costume would be a bonus. DD will be right from Ivy Trellis with a fancy updo. And we're all getting dressed for our CRT dinner. DS wants to wear a tie. I think it's a perfect opportunity for a great picture with Mickey.

I heard Mickey and Minnie will be in winter outfit at adventure outpost in AK.

I agree with this, I'm actually just scheduling 2 FP on the night I planned there and would leave the empty spot for ROL... Not sure if that makes a difference in booking but I don't need a third FP anyway. :)

That would make a great picture! I can imagine they're getting more excited. :)

Oh that sounds nice! I thought they would be in their safari outfits... That would actually be my second FP choice besides the safari!

you certainly do not need to book it at 60 days. From what I can tell if you want KS right at 9am you need to book it quickly. But if you are not super picky on time of day they are all available even same day.

It'll be our 3rd time in MK that day (12/4) so we'll probably just be looking at re-riding things we had missed up to that point and we would be hoping to hit the coasters, I'm sure. If we don't have a fastpass, we'll probably just have to give up 7dmt. UNLESS we use the PPO Crystal Palace I've been keeping in my back pocket just in case (shh... don't tell anyone). pirate: :rolleyes1

Yup that is the only one I'm worried about. I plan to ride it during EMH but not sure how long the line would be so I would still want to book the FP for my EMH day

Yes, I really only would like 2.. And that's for our am day !! I don't really want/ need any for our pm day aside from rol. This is really exciting !!
