why are you wanting to switch? H&V are tough to come by! I would prob stick with what you have!

I actually let my husband make that call a couple days ago, since he is more into Star Wars than I am. I'm not big on fireworks in general. So I'd want to go to the SW party just for dessert and booze lol. I showed him the SW fireworks on youtube and asked just if it was something he wanted to see. Surprisingly, he said no! And I watched a video of F! and I don't think we'd be interested in that either. So not looking good for late night entertainment in HS for us. We'll just settle with the rides and some of the shows throughout the day.
My husband was very disappointed when I told him Jedi training was only for kids! As another poster mentioned, he said he was going to try to sign up anyway and I told him I was going to pretend I didn't know him. haha.
I'm scheduling in seeing Illuminations once, since that is easy to see without reserving spots and we'll be in Epcot a lot at night. I'm also planning to see Wishes on our party night and possibly our late night in MK on a non-party night, depending on how we liked the party version.
It's totally up to him, of course, but I will say that nearly everyone who has seen the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular show agrees that the videos just can't do it justice. As a Star Wars fan, I absolutely can't wait to experience the show in person even though the video didn't exactly "wow" me.![]()
For some reason I totally forgot to join/watch this thread! We are going the first week of December (Nov 30 - Dec 8th), this will be our first time going in December, last year we just missed all the holiday decorations (we left as they were literally putting up the train and stuff at YC). Can't wait!
Yeah, that was my DH! How about if we let our husbands go get kicked out of the Jedi Training and you and I go to the SW Dessert Party and get boozy?![]()
@Iowamomof4 And not to interrogate you on H&V or anything (lol)...but you're one of the people I've been scoping out H&V for. Are you looking for 11/28 still?
I think those of us going to the party are counting on strength in numbers. I mean, the big plus to do the party is to not have to fight the crowds for a good viewing spot. As for the party itself, the rest of us pretty much plan on strong arming people to give us space!I do try to keep that in mind as I'm watching videos. But in this case, the video may be a more pleasant experience for me because if I was watching in person I'd have to deal with the crowd too. I wasn't bummed that he wanted to skip it, so I didn't push him to reconsider too hard! I would do the SW dessert party if we wanted to see the fireworks at all, which is why it was important to get a "yay" or "nay" on that now so I know whether to plan on booking that. But now I think we'll just save that $$ for other things.
Hmmm...I wonder what is says about me that I 100% fully understood that! haha It's the uber planner mentality! Gotcha!![]()

(Kidding!!)
Seriously though, if you're not into it, I get it. It would be awesome to get to meet everyone though!
I totally agree, that would be really neat! If you don't plan to meet up, you guys might end up strong-arming each other and not knowing it.![]()

Oh my goodness, picturing all of us giving each other the evil eye as we elbow our way to the desserts without knowing totally makes me crack up!
Agreed. So many of my plans go like this:
If I get X ADR, I'll cancel A ADR.
But if I don't get X ADR, I'll keep A ADR and look for B ADR on another date.
Planning is basically a complicated algebra problem. LOL
I want to spend time in MK during daylight hours so I can ride 7dmt and btmrr when it's light out (rode them in the dark last time and felt they were too fast, I'm thinking I'll like them better in the light). I'd like to have that opportunity before we attend the party so I can decide then if I want to ride them again in the dark now that I have experience with them in daylight. Tuesday is the first day it makes sense to go to MK for the day, but we would like to rope drop it or possibly do EMM, which would mean we might be either too exhausted to fully enjoy the party or we might get kinda bored with MK by the time the party starts.
If we do the party on Thursday night instead, it will be day #5 and after 4 park days in a row it would make for a good day to take a bit of a break. We can sleep in a bit, head to Boma for a late breakfast (10:55), and then hit Disney Springs or go swimming back at our resort until it's time to get ready for the party. That way we'll be a little more fresh and will hopefully get as much out of it as possible. We could also consider the Friday night party, but I'm sure that one will sell out and I have slight hopes Thursday night won't.
So, having said all of that, the ways we could still make the party work for Tuesday night would be to still go to MK but NOT do rope drop or EMM, arrive around 10 or 11 and use Fastpasses for 7dmt and btmrr (probably Space Mountain as well) and then plan to stay through for the party that night. I just don't know though... rope drop at MK seems awfully important these days. Oh, and we tried the whole "take an afternoon break at your resort" thing last time and the family will revolt if I make them do that again! lol
EDIT: I'm open to being persuaded though!![]()
Oh my gosh! this is the second time already!!! Hopefully this is all done by the time your trip happens!Speaking of work...DH almost gave me a heart attack this morning.
He calls from work and says "I'm going to Denmark for work."
Me: "When?"
Him: "Coming back on December 3."
Me: "WHAT?!?!?!
Him: "Oh, I mean returning October 3."
I swear, that man is going to put me in an early grave.
His company's global headquarters is based in Denmark; he went last August when I had my first knee surgery so my sister and mom had to come up and take care of me. His timing really is impeccable so it wouldn't surprise me if he inadvertently planned a work trip when we're supposed to be on vacation.
Hysterical! Oh my gosh....laughing so hard thinking about it...
Isn't that the truth?!?! It can get even WORSE though, right? Like switching park days for an ADR? I've totally done that once....or twice.![]()
