1st time using the Disney Free Dining Plan...

I asked this ? months back but I've heard rumors that the gratuity included portion of the DDP might be removed.
Does anyone know if gratuity is still included, even with the free dining promotion. We will be in WDW Sept. 4-10.
Also...how many people on the free dining plan do not leave additional tip?

The tip is still part of the plan until 2008. We almost always left additional tip if the service was good, which it generally was.

The new DP does not include tip or appetizers. The price is almost the same, only $1.00 different. Not sure for me and my family if it is worth it anymore.

If you're going September of this year, 2007, 18% gratuity is still included and you still get appetizers with your TS meals.

We sometimes left extra, sometimes not, depending on the service. I don't think you'd be considered cheap if you didn't leave any extra, unless you were doing a lot of splitting meals, in which case you should obviously add to the tip. Go, eat, and enjoy!

Totally agree, don't feel you have to leave extra this year on the DDP 18% is already added in. But if you had excellent service and want to leave a bit extra I am sure they would be happy. But don't feel cheap if you don't, also when we purchase something OOP we will be leaving a extra tip for that..

Only once was the service so grand that I left extra.... I think it was at Citricos.

I was on FDP last year and only left extra tip once for service that was excellent. Most of the service was just ok and I felt that 18% was more than enough. Of course we did leave extra for any OOP we ordered.

up dec 31st 2007 the ddp paid or free includes tip,tax, appitzer, main meal,desert and a non alchoholic drinkIf you order alcohol with your meal an automactic 18% will be added to bill for wine

The new ddp which is coresing much debate starts 1st jan 2008

The new plan with no tip does not start until January 2008. The tip and appetizer WILL be included on your trip this September 2007.
