1st time flying, will 50lb five year old need a booster?

Will my almost 6 yr old ds need a booster seat on the plane? We have one rented for our towncar service but didn't think about on the plane. Thanks!!

My personal reply is no. If your child will sit in the normal seat, then I would skip the booster on the plane. We took ours on a flight we DD was almost 3 and 40lbs and wouldn't want to do that again....

Once a child reaches 40 pounds, he can just use the airplane seatbelt.

Besides, the FAA prohibits booster seats from being used during taxi, take-off, and landing:

Actually NO child is REQUIRED a car seat on a plane.
