1st time concierge

We are currently on a DCL cruise as concierge guests and we have received two text notification reminders from the Concierge Hosts via the DCL app stating that non-concierge guests are NOT ALLOWED in the Concierge Lounge.

Apparently, they’ve had to kick out some non-concierge guests who were in the Concierge Lounge.
curious which ship are you on & who are the concierge host, sailing in Nov

Actually I am glad DCL sent out that notice. I might be in the minority but if other
members of a travel party are not concierge then they shouldn’t be allowed in those areas. It’s no different then in the adults only area that parents bring there children (doesn’t matter the age). There are rules for a reason.
If you read the room (this forum), I think you are not in the minority.

Hi! My husband & I will be sailing concierge for the first time in February for my 55th birthday. My birthday is during the cruise, his 59th is two weeks after. We'll be on the Fantasy in a family stateroom with verandah. Our sailing is a five night with one sea day, Nassau, Lookout and Castaway. My e-mail date is next week. Other than a Cabana, I am not sure what to request. I have searched here and Facebook concierge groups. This is our 8th DCL and I am usually our family & friends travel coordinator (I am not a TA. I just love planning.), but I am just feeling overwhelmed.
I think I can request -
Palo for dinner on Pirate Night.
A dining rotation with two Animator Palates, with neither of them on Pirate Night.
Moet in the Concierge Lounge. (I'd love Veuve but think it is too high for complimentary bubbles).
As we have a family stateroom, not a 1br, can I request bottled water and Coke, Diet Coke in our refrigerator?
Can I request to book a Rainforest Room day pass for Nassau day?
Can I request to book a champagne tasting not knowing the tasting schedule?

Thank you!! I appreciate any tips and advice.
I can answer the Rainforest Room day pass question. I asked the concierge hosts on the fantasy for this and unfortunately, they can book the length-of-cruise pass for you, but are not able to book a day pass for a specific day in advance of the cruise, only on the day of, subject to availability. (Basically, same policy as for non-concierge guests).

I think if shoreside no on a particular champagne, you may have luck requesting it directly from the bartenders on the first night. When we were there another guest requested a special bourbon and they made it happen the next night, and we got to partake too.

You can definitely get Palo on Pirate night and should be able to get your requested rotation.

This was also our experience in July. Concierge could book the rainforest room for length of stay, but the day passes seem to be a thing of the past.

Treasure, Feb 15, 7-night, E. Caribbean.

This will be our 7th DCL.

Hoping to pick up tips and advice from veteran concierge-cruisers as well!!
Deep background: I have three DDs, 16, 18, 19 at the time of sailing. As mentioned, my family will have a concierge stateroom and an inside stateroom. I intended to have my DW and I be in the concierge, but DCL has a policy that no underage children may berth in a stateroom with adults under 21. My TA, therefore, had to book me and my eldest in the concierge room. The unofficially sanctioned plan ...CM: there is no Disney police on board to make sure your wife doesn't switch lanyards with your daughter. This didn't sit well with me...

Today: Booked my mother in law who will join my girls in the inside stateroom and DW will officially be berthed in the concierge! All is well again in the world.

You might want to consider upgrading the inside room to another category. Four women sharing a tiny inside room sounds rough.

Wow, sounds like they had some issues on that sailing. I've never gotten that message as Concierge (so I'm assuming they had to do some pointed reminders as a response to some issues).

Email request day coming up early next week. My main objective is to book a family beach cabana (any among #3-#9).

What else would you suggest for a couple of first timers in concierge?

My letter that I sent last week in advance of official booking on 9/28. I included my cruise # in the subject and intro. This is our 5th concierge cruise. We are across from the lounge so easy access to beverages so the standard stock is fine.

The following are my requests for the above referenced cruise. Please note we do not plan to disembark at Nassau or Lookout Point.

Palo brunch - 11:30 desired time but flexible - 2 adults
Spa Villa — Couple’s choice - 2 adults
Champagne Tasting - 2 adults
Rum Tasting - 2 adults
Anyone else with sample requests a la the above?

Booking for kids events - BBB or Character meets
Beverages you would like in your room - Water, sodas
Dining rotations or locations - for instance near the show, or in a quiet area

If there are any specific beverage tastings you want, and if you want to do Palo, especially brunch. Those things can fill up quickly!

It can happen... They couldn't get rid of them on a 5 night Dream cruise we were on-but that was right after covid. Two family cabanas up for grabs for two days -the flyer sat on the desk where the concierge hosts sit. I would check with the hosts, but wouldn't set my heart on it.

The Concierge Team is honestly really great. When we have sailed with them before, we have asked them for types of milk and tea they don't usually have and each time, our request was honoured and it was there waiting. It's best to ask and if they can't do it, it happens.

I don’t think day passes for the Rainforest room are available any longer. Perhaps I will change in the future, though. What people have discussed recently is only length of the cruise passes.

You can also ask shoreside concierge to send you the list and times of activities on your cruise, including dining rotation options and themed nights / attire. We always ask for this to determine what tastings we want when and to know when pirate night will be (or formal night, etc.).

Do you ask this before or after your booking window? It does seem a little like you have to already know about a lot of this stuff before you can actually ask for it. Like, there's a link in the email to the Spa page, but it just takes me to my reservation.

You can ask ahead of time. When we get our shoreside email reminding us of our date and time to email in our requests (usually about 5 days before the date) I reply and ask for the event and activity schedule, dining rotations, and theme nights.

Cool, thanks for that. I'll send them an email and see what shakes out.
