1st time at a Mod: POR or CSR?

We have the opportunity to stay at a Moderate for the first time ever! Now we don't know which to pick. POR or CSR? It will be just DD(24) and I.

We are not pool people. We have always stayed preferred at POP in the past. We like to be near the buses and food court. Our main complaint at POP is how crowded the buses are ALL the time. And that their bus stop is usually the furthest out.

We can get CSR about $200 cheaper but we do like the looks of POR.

HELP!!?? Lol!

We have stayed at both and which would be better depends on where you plan to spend your time. We prefer CSR but that is just a personal preference. If you plan on spending time at Disney Springs POR has a boat which I prefer to the busses. One thing we do like at CSR is that it feels like a shorter bus ride to the parks. CSR does not share a bus with any other resort so don't have to worry about that(sometimes POR & POFQ share). Both have four covered bus stops.

We mostly are in the parks! We are going June 11-18. if that helps.

We usually go back to our resort mid-day to get refreshed.and we usually go to Disney Springs only once during our stay.

We like the idea of the atmosphere at POR but... We are so confused!!!

Being as it is our first time to stay at a Moderate and we have wanted to do it for so long, we don't want to be disappointed. Does that make sense?

We LOVE POP but this is an opportunity that we have wanted for a long time. When we arrive at POP it is like a big sigh of relief to us.

WE used to go in Apr and May. We went in June last year and POP was SO crowded and they were bussing kids in from off-site for meal times so Food Court was a disaster.

So this is a big deal to us and we don't want to blow it! LOL!

I would pick CSR only because of the busses. We found them to be much better than POR. I do like the look of POR over CSR, but both are really nice!

CSR is about to begin a major construction project. The atmosphere will, in my opinion, by disrupted by construction walls etc.
I would definitely go to POR or POFQ until both CSR and CBR are finished.

Normally, I would say CSR hands down...but there is reno and construction happening right now. If you plan to hang out at the resort during the day, I'd pick POR.

However, CSR has much better busing (and it will probably be even lighter crowds with two buildings out of circulation). So, if you plan to be in the park most of the time, the construction may not be an issue.

Thank you everyone for all the input. Was leaning towards CSR but when I called the TA all of the slots for that resort were booked so we ended up booking POR. My dd really wanted to stay there anyway. I guess if we have never stayed moderate we won't know what we're missing. We are so used to POP that I am hoping we won't be disappointed. I'm sure we won't. We will still be at Disney!!! Thank you again!!!!

POR is a great choice! I would normally say CSR ahead of POR, but with construction that will likely be a major disruption and you not being fans of a pool, then POR is definitely the best option for you. If possible, I would suggest preferred rooms or a royal room. The location of either is really convenient. As you know from staying at POP the preferred option gets you convenience.

If you get a chance, take advantage of the boat to DS and check out Yee Haa Bob's show. If you are in a RR, then the walk to POFQ is nice. We used the bus from the MK to POFQ then picked up some beignets to enjoy during the walk to our room.

I think that you will really enjoy POR!!!

Well we booked with a travel agent and were able to get a Std room at POR for less than a preferred room at POP. We normally go preferred at POP and hope we won't be too disappointed with a std room @ POR. We saved $130 from our POP quote and the same trip booked at POR through Disney was $716 more. So by doing this we are finally able to stay in a mod. So decided to give it a try. Since we are going in June ( my dd is a school teacher) we know it will be crowded everywhere but especially at POP. We went June last year and it was crazy at POP. I guess we will see how it goes.

Given that this is your first time in a moderate, I think POR is the one to choose. CSR is a nice resort for adults, but with construction in the works, you might find it disruptive.
