I'm heard such mixed reviews about 1900 PF but DD (3 1/2) LOOOVES the Cinderella movies and I cannot imagine that she wouldn't LOVE having dinner with her! So I will have to hope that we hit it on a good night and the food/service isn't horrible.

Soooo-I've read that there are different areas they seat people and apparently one area is better than another in terms of actually seeing Cinderella and Prince Charming dance and having the kids come up to dance with them! So where should we request to sit and is there one time or another that might be better in terms of getting in the best area to sit? Is it luck of the draw who they ask to come up and dance with them? Someone suggested that the girls in Cinderella dresses had a better chance? Is this true?

Any advice is appreciated to make it a magical night for my girls! THANKS!

While the food is horrible, and I do mean BAD, the character interaction was great and the nieces had a fun time.

We sat right by the buffet and had a view of Cindy and Prince dancing...they did this twice in the hour we were there...they come out the door to the far left of the buffet (as you are facing it) and they start dancing right in front of the buffet

I disagree...;) the food wasn't that horrible... it was your typical buffet food for Disney.... the character interation was great. We're going back this trip.. The kids asked for it. They brought my daughter a birthday crown which she wore for the remainder of the week. princess: The night we were there, there was also a wedding party in there. all dressed up,.. Cinderella made a big fuss over the bride and her gown. :bride:

Any tips/ideas on how to get your girls picked to dance with them???

Should I ask for a particular place to sit or just ask to be sat in the room near where they dance? I've heard of people not being able to actually see them dancing unless they all got up and moved to another place so I'd love to avoid having to do that!

No tips on getting picked, but I think your girls will have fun even if they don't get to dance with Cinderella or Prince Charming. We were seated in the room off the main room. We made sure dd had an aisle chair facing the main room so she at least was able to see the dance, even if I couldn't from up against the wall. All the characters made their rounds and took their time, but it appeared that Drizzela was assigned to focus on our section (Anastacia stayed primarily in the main room). She danced with dd and ds, and then did a silly dance with all the kids in our section. She was great fun!

As for the food, I thought it was fine and my husband loved it in comparison to Crystal Palace.

As long as you are in direct view of the buffet, you should see the characters very well. They danced mostly in the middle section of the restaurant. We had at least one lengthy visit from everyone and more from the stepsisters.

The food for us was mediocre; however, we didn't leave hungry. The characters were perfect and it was a wonderful way to start our trip.

The food is good here. It's a Buffet . We never had a problem with the food.
For breakfast or dinner and been here more times than I can count. Good fun to.

We did park fare Thanksgiving night and I thought it was by far better than either CRT or the Norway princess meal. The food I thought was pretty good. The character interaction was priceless. My DD was picked to dance with CInderella and I think hewr dress had something to do with it. I made the pink dress for her that the mice make in the movie. Every character commented on it, and the Stepsisters were so funny!! We got more attention here that anywhere else from the characters.

We went in October. I didn't see Cinderella and her prince dancing, but that could be because as soon as the music started, Anastasia grabbed my DD and danced with her. (And my camera dead!)

We just ate there last week and I'm not sure about the dancing - I thought the kids could just go up if they wanted? We weren't paying too much attention though as we had a custom cake delivered to our table to celebrate DD's birthday. I gotta say that this meal has gone down in terms of quality since the last time we were there. And the character interaction was ok.

Sorry but we just ate there on Thursday and the food wasn't bad at all. It was my dh's favorite meal of the trip. My only son loves the step sisters too and the step mother! She kept on trying to get him to agree to marry one of the step sisters. The meal was great, the strawberry soup was great and the desserts were excellent!

Ohhhh no!! Horrible timing with the camera!!! Sorry to hear that!

We eat at 1900 Park Fare every trip and we have always had great food. And the Step-sisters are hilarious.

I'm soooo thrilled to hear this! It's something that I absolutely want to do with the girls, especially while they are young. But I have been so nervous about the food and regretting forking out so much money for nasty food. So I'm glad to hear that some people have loved it recently!:lovestruc

When we went last August we were seated in the little annex area..lousy area to sit..and the food is typical disney buffet..mediocre at best. Characters were great though. Dd, 5, was in a cinderella dress and we were leaving on the way out when they started to dance. We were cutting through the restaurant to leave, and Cinderella grabbed dd and started to dance with her. It was absolutely precious! Dd wanted NOTHING and I mean NOTHING to do with Prince Charming and she was petrified by the step sisters. This trip was all about the princesses! Princes? YUCK! LOL

dont worry about some of these reviews, just go and have fun. I too was a little nervous but i have decided to give it a try. Plus the youtube videos look fun, seems like a fun time.

we liked all the food in May 2009 with the exception of the pasta dish with ground meat in it (worse than plain-label skillet helper meals) and the rolls (rock hard...but so was the butter so was a match made in heaven.)

The characters were wonderful-- Cindy is sweet, Charming is just that (DD, age 20, wanted HIM for dessert) The steps are great, especially Anastasia (the one in pink) We were laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes. Looked to me like most of the dancing was in the main room (where you can see the buffet, but I did see the characters all go into the other room on a regular basis. They all circulated to every table as near as I could tell.

My husband took our 3.5 DD (in her Cinderella dress) right up to Prince Charming during the dancing, and just put her in the vicinity. of course, I missed it due to having run out of memory on my main camera, and was pulling out the small one, but got up there just as they were all finishing up. My DH says it was adorable, tho! So, I think you can just hustle up there with your daughter. But I don't know for sure 'cause I didn't see the reactions!

I have to agree. We were there last week, and the food was not of the same quality we experienced at other Disney locations. In terms of the character interaction, we were seated right next to the very short dance of Cinderella and Prince Charming -- children were not selected to dance, they just sort of wandered up to the action. I had very high hopes for this meal -- even took my DD to BBB before the meal for a makeover -- unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype.
