Can you purchase DDP is you have room only or do you need the Magic Your Way option to do so. If so, do you have to purchase park tickets for you entire stay to buy the DDP?

The dining plans require that each person on your reservation purchase a MYW package, so no, dining plans can not be added to room only reservations. You need only purchase a MYW ticket for one day to qualify, no matter how long your stay. However, you must purchase a dining plan for each person on your reservation for each night of your stay.

To clarify my previous post, I believe each person on your reservation must have at least a 1 day MYW ticket to qualify for the dining plan.

We're getting one-day MYW tickets and getting the rest of our tickets through our base (they're cheaper for us). But, yes, you do have to have at least a one-day MYW ticket to get the dining plan. I don't know if just one person has to have it or if everyone in your party does ...

We have annual passes. We were told if we want the dining plan we have to buy 1 day park tickets for each person in the room to add the dining plan. We thougth about doing this last year b/c the 1 day ticket doesn't expire and you can give it to someone else if you can't use it.

And do what with the one-day tickets? Are you planning to use them this trip? Some time in the future? Apply them to the purchase of upgraded tickets? Your plan may not be the most fiscally sensible one.

We're using the one-day tickets, too. We're buying the additional days through the base.

Each person in the party must buy the same ticket.

The only way around the ticket requirement is to book with DVC points. DVC reservations may have the dining plan added without purchasing tickets.

You seriously might want to rethink that.

I don't have ANY idea what price you'll pay on base, but unless you're saving more than 25% over the cost of a (for example) ten day park hopper, you're paying MORE per park admission/day with this combination than if you just bought the ten-day hopper as part of your MYW package.
