160 extra Disney Rewards Points by asking...

here is the response I received about the disney debit card...

Thank you for contacting the Internet Service Center.

In response to your inquiry, you are able to take
advantage of our promotions when you receive a coupon
either by mail or e-mail. The coupon has a code on it
which is what you use to redeem it. Unfortunately, we are
not able to apply the promotion to your account without
the coupon code.

So does anyone have a code??

We appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

When I signed up several weeks ago, the offer was a $40 credit on my first statement - after making a purchase.

I made my airfare purchase and my Dreams Unlimited deposit and I see my $40 credit when I viewed my account online. I haven't received my statement yet.

I sent the email that the OP talked about and got my response: :cool1:

As your credit card company, we value your business. I
appreciate this opportunity to respond to your recent
inquiry concerning your Disney Rewards® Visa® account.

I am responding to your concerns with the receipt of the
enrollment premium. I understand that you had been
offered $40.00 statement credit and now you are seeing
offers for $200 Disney Dream Reward Dollars upon sign up.

As a gesture of our commitment to you as one of our valued
cardmembers, I have added $160 Disney Dream Reward Dollars
to the account. This adjustment will appear on the next
billing statement.

It was a pleasure to assist you and have a magical day.

So I presume I will still get my $40 credit on my first statement and get 160 dream reward dollars. Now can someone please explain what I can do with these points? I'm new to Chase Disney Visa.

My trip is 11/28/10. I think I will have to "convert" these dream reward dollars to something else in order to use them. What time deadlines am I dealing with? Can it be done on line?

Thanks OP and anyone who can explain my next step!

Thats easy! You can go online to your Chase acct and order your rewards card, when you do you get the chance to select how many rewards points you want to put on it (min of 11). Once you recieve the card you can use it at Disney for purchases, at the hotel, pretty much anything on Disney property that is Disney Owned and takes CC or Gift Cards. Every point is worth $1. The other option is that you can get your card at the parks guest services (i believe) they will do the point transfer there. Once you do get your card, points can be transfered on it (min of 11pts at a time) when ever you want! Goodluck!

I called Chase a couple of weeks about this issue. I signed up for the card at my branch and only got the $25. Chase is my primary bank, I have multiple accounts with them for years. When I spoke to C/S, I told her that I thought it was unfair that a pre-existing, in good standing, and loyal Chase Customer received the lowest incentive while non-Chase customers received offerings of up to $200.00. I was firm but not combative. I was honest, I told her this isn't something I would close my account over, I just thought it was unfair. A week later I received a 175 point adjustment. I was a bit suprised that Chase did that after I called. But I have to tell you, their willingness to resolve the issue tells me that they do value my business and as a result I will continue to use them as my primary bank;) 175 points goes a long way.

Thanks for the clarification. I have a Chase Sapphire card & I believe our Marriott is also Chase. Would take the $200 deal in a heartbeat, but evidently there is no chance for that!

I sent a message last night. I've been forwarded to a different department. Is that good or bad?

thank you OP for sharing! I asked last night, expecting nothing as I've been a member since the first year (and rec'd nothing). This morning 25 rewards were deposited in my account! Going to DL next weekend, this is great!

I also got 25 this morning. Happy about the 25, perturbed that others got 200 lol

(not really, I'm happy for those who go the deal!)

I have like $300 disney dollars in there now! I can't wait until 2012, I'll have over $500 in there easy!

Yes thank you to the OP and the other posters! I emailed chase yesterday and asked them to look into my account because I thought I might have applied for the card when they had the promotion going on and didn't remember receiving anything (I really did think this but its been awhile so I didn't bother doing anything before) and if they could look into the matter for me. I also mentioned I have been a card member for years and tend to carry a balance with them, but I didn't plan on closing my card just wondering what the deal was. I checked this morning and still no response so I emailed them again and just got a response within 20 mins, they added 25 pts to my rewards account!

I don't mind it wasn't 200 or 150, I will take anything! 25 Pts is Free MUGs for DH and I! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I just sent over my message. I thought I would see what their response would be. I was a charter member and never received anything as a loyal customer. I just transferred my current rewards over to my rewards card b/c we are going shortly, so a few more disney dollars would be great.

I'm a charter member as well and got $50 awarded to my account after sending email. Originally all I got was a pin. Happy with the $50 would have loved to get $200 like my DSis did when she opened it based on my recommendation. My mom got $50 when she opened hers. I'm going to send an email for her and see what she gets.

Wow....you guys are really lucking out. I have a question, for those getting the 100.00 and 200.00 awarded....do you have a balance? And for those awarded the 25.00 and 50.00 are you closer to your credit limit? I emailed just to see if they could forward me one of the emails and I was going to apply (husband already has a card). They said they are for specific people only and that they'd have no way of sending me one but to accept 25.00 as their way of saying thanks for being a good customer. I was kind of miffed....I mean I didn't really expect any kind of points...I really just wanted the email LOL so I could apply. But now that I see how much everyone is getting it's kind of irritating that they don't either say no to everyone or atleast have some sort of system when dealing with things like this. I think that after this and the fact that after 3 years they cut my limit in half....I'm going to sock drawer their card and only use it to get in 3 days before the public on codes.

I think it depends first on how you approach it, but also, considering this thread is 11 pages long, I would assume ALOT of people are contacting Disney VISA which ultimately can lead to a policy shift.

I wondered that too. I don't carry a balance and over the years my limit has creeped up and up. They look at my account and think hmm...we've not made a penny off her in fees or interest for like 5 years - give her $25 to shut her up lol

I got the $100---although I didnt get anything when I 1st got the card years ago.

I never carried a balance, and really dont use the card all that often. Mostly just at places that don't take AMEX, which is my main card to earn Hilton Honors Pts.

In most months (except for the 4-5 right before a Disney trip) I put no more than $200-$250 on the card.

I received $50 reward dollars. More to put towards the dining plan. Thanks for the heads up!:cool1:

I have had a Disney Visa from the get go . i emailed them asking about the $200 incentives. Received a reply that that is only for new cardholders but as a courtesy they will credit me with 10 Disney dollars.
Guess who will no longer be using Disney Visa. I transferred all my points to rewards card and will be closing my account.
I am miffed.... they don't even offer a Disney visa discount for The Backtrails segway Tour.

I think that so many of us sent emails all of a sudden, and it seems that as the days go by they keep reducing the reward bonus give. (They're on to us) It's fair that the first to inquire got the most and the rest of us were lucky to get anything I guess. I did get $50. Thanks to OP.:goodvibes
I have been carrying a balance lately and make at least 2 large payments a month. I am not near my limit. I think it has alot to do with who opens your email.:confused3 I'm happy with it!

I too am a "Day 1" customer and have been a little put off by all these new incentives to open a Disney Chase Visa. I use my card alot and have always paid on time. I sent an email last night, not an angry one just asking if there are any reward offers for existing customers like there are for new ones. When I woke up this morning, I already had a response and 50 reward dollars were added to my account. I am very happy with that and also very please with their quick response. I already put it on my reward card and applied the payment to my upcoming trip!
