160 extra Disney Rewards Points by asking...

Just had to chime in here. I am a Disney Visa card holder, and I read this post about a week or so ago. I then emailed customer service. Went through the true speech of how I am a long time card holder and why can't i be rewarded...blah blah. I just felt it was my right to at least ask. Well, lo and behold a rep replies, apologizes for the promotion not being available to all customers and says she will deposit 200 Disney dollars in my account as a courtesy.,

I felt like I won the lottery! And I really believe there is nothing wrong with asking. Just asking. Why not? If they said tough noogies to me, well, so be it. But it never hurts to send a polite email. Really. It's not like I have my hand out to my friends or family begging. It's a huge corporation designed to take our money. We have the right to ask for something in return. No harm.

How long did you take for all you guys to hear back from them? I sent my email Thurs morning and I still haven't heard. I know it's only been 2 days but it seems that a lot of you got an email back right away or a few hours later.

BTW, I didn't ask for anything in my email. I just pointed out that I've been a customer for years now, that we use our Disney card exclusively over any other card and that I had heard about a $200 rewards offer for new customers.

Thanks for giving me the courage to try this guys. We leave in 2 weeks for the World.

We only received a $15 gc at sign-up and I did receive the $200 promo offer in the mail. My husband applied using that promo, but was declined (He has no credit history at all, so that was expected, but worth the shot)

Their website says reply within 4 hours. Here's hoping for good news. We are celebrating our first wedding anniversary, so I told my hubby that I was buying myself something nice if this came through :lovestruc

Crossing my fingers

I sent mine on Thursday morning too and still haven't heard anything. I know it said they would send a response within 1 business day so I resent it on Friday afternoon. I didn't outright ask for the 200 rewards points. I just said something like its come to my attention that some people have been offered the 200 rewards point and I only received the $15 and is there anything that can be done to address that issue.

Hopefully they will get back soon but we may have to wait until Tuesday because of the holiday.

I sent an email - I actually decided it was a good chance to let them know that I was frustrated that the offers to earn reward dollars is unfair. That the offers were not consistent by cardholders and that often my grocery and gas stations are classified as others so even though I used the card to try to earn the dollars I am unfairly penalized by their categories that are not accurate.

Truthfully, extra rewards would be bonus - I really would like to see them be more consistent in their offers and in their categories.

I sent the email on Thursday and finally heard back around 10pm last night.

They credited my account $100.

Whoo Hoo!! Thanks for the thought to ask!

I agree that they should be more consistent in their offers.

I received a reply from them earlier this morning (originally sent my request Thursday morning) and received 185 bonus reward points.

Well, after all that waiting I logged on and saw that I received an email response with $50. Hey, I'm happy with that. I was hoping for $150 because we only got the $25 credit when we signed up a few years ago.

I never would have thought to do this. I hear about so many people getting these offers-I think I got $15 when I signed up at the Disney Store. It bugs me too, that I never get any xpoints offers, even when I quit using my card much for a few months.
I do agree that I acceoted the offer that was given at the time, but then I knew nothing about the card and how it all works. Guess I'll give an EMail a try too.
If I could ever get the $200 offer, I'd sign my DH up too.:goodvibes

Does no one but me smell something rotten in this? I can see how this may bite everyone in the wrong place later. Maybe fewer rewards? Who knows I just found myself reading this and I am a disney visa card holder and no I haven't contacted them. I don't think its right for me to turn around and ask for whatever current offer they have when I signed up the offer was what it was. I don't go to people who I purchased from before and ask them to credit me for something I've had and now see at a better offer. Why is this different? I just don't see why this is any different then when someone gets a room for less on auction site or an upgrade at the last minute. They don't give this to everyone just a few. I can understand if you got the card at the same time as the offer was made but to make requests months/years later shame shame. I say your killing the pixie people there won't be any dust if we are always so greedy as a society.

So, you never went back to Target and got a refund when something went on sale? Or at least inquired?

I personally see nothing wrong with asking. All of us (based on what people have posted) just stated we weren't happy that others had gotten better offers even though we were long-standing good customers. I didn't read where anyone even threatened to close their accounts.

Chase could have politely said "sorry" and done NOTHING. They didn't. They chose to keep their existing customers happy.

Sorry, but in a world of "bonus offers" for checking, savings, credit cards, HELOC's, Mortgages, etc.....I think we'll see more of this in the future.

i wrote the most generic email simply saying that the offers are far above what i was offered, how i hold multiple chase visas, long time customer, etc... and i rec'd 50 points in my account this morning... that may encourage dh to add one night at vero beach (instead of a super 8! LOL!) when we do our holiday florida road trip! :)

I inquired and was credited $150 Disney Dollars. My mom inquired and was told to go ahead and sign up with the $200 Disney Dollar offer and then choose if whe wants to keep both cards.

She wrote back to say there is no website to take them up on that offer and if they wanted to point her in the right direction she would gladly do that.

Just waiting on a reply.

This is what she got:

As your credit card company, we value your business. I

I have reviewed your request and have found that the

Maybe it's because she has only used the card a few times. I use mine for everything and pay it off every 3 days...so the activity levels are VERY different...or maybe just different people processing?!!

I don't have a Disney Visa anymore. . .but I recently moved my checking account to Chase and I now see they have a $100 bonus for opening a checking account with them. I was never offered that. I went into a branch to open it. It's a long story, but the short version is my long time bank was bought by another bank and I wasn't happy with them, so I thought since my mortgage is with Chase and they have several convenient branches (including ATM's at Walgreens) I would switch. Should I call and ask why I didn't get the $100 offer?

I got a $50 credit on my account today!!! That was really fast! Thanks for the tip!!

$50 must be the going rate now.;) Thanks for this, I emailed this morning and just looked, and there is already a $5o adjustment to my account! Yeah- more for Disney! My inquiry was very friendly, and I've had my card for about 3 years. I had gotten about $10 for signing up at a Disney store.

wow, that is crazy how all over the board the incentives really are!!!

They just got back to me and said that they will match offers within the first two months of receiving the card (we got ours in May I believe) But they still gave me a $50 to show they appreciated my concern. Woohoo!
