160 extra Disney Rewards Points by asking...

I received $20.00... Which is better then what I had prior to asking.

LOL, I guess our carrying/paying interest on a balance of $1500+ for 4 years or so isn't worth much to Chase if everyone else is still getting $50 or more.

And I got the exact same form email reply as you did, minus the difference of rewards.

I'm thinking that it's one of two things that's causing the extra rewards to be all over the place: either luck-of-the-draw as to whose inbox your email ends up in, or the amount of use the card gets. I only mention that because we don't really use ours much, we just have a balance transfer and a couple of large purchases that sit on there for long periods of time. You'd think they'd appreciate that, though, since it means that they get to collect so much interest!

I'd say it's the less you use the card the better chances are of getting it... I average 1500+ a month in charges. Once a year I get the 2x or 3x in certain categories if I spend over 2K. I never spend 2K in total so I never qualify for this. While I know others get 5x points with no minimum.

I sent the message - chances are I won't get anything. But doesn't hurt to ask...

I disagree. I use mine almost daily, charging EVERYTHING. But I also pay it off every month. I think, like the pp said, it's the luck of the draw as to which representative gets your email and how generous they are feeling that day.

I wanted to say thanks because of this thread once I used my new Disney Visa with the $100 reward off I emailed and said I heard there was a $200 reward and I was upset not the get their best offer and they added $100 in rewards my account right away

I have had my Disney Rewards Visa since 2005. Back then, I received a 20 dd credit for applying. I have received ONE 5x offer in 5 years. I wrote the email like you all did and just heard back today. They credited me 20 DD rewards. Okay, I am grateful..but that sure aint 200 or 100 or 50 etc. I guess putting 3,000 dollars a month on my card means that they just don't appreciate me enough.

I went ahead and applied for my own account (our existing one was in DH's name) under the $100 reward link someone posted here not too long ago. I got my card in the mail yesterday! I called to activate it last night and mentioned to the rep on the phone that I'd heard about the $200 offer and asked if they'd honor that for me. He immediately apoligized and said no, that no one could change the offer for me. I told him that I'd read that Chase would honor offers active within 3 months of my approval date, and he had to put me on hold to speak with his supervisor. When he came back, he said that they couldn't do it, but that he'd put a note on my account to the marketing dept. to have them take a look at it, and I should hear from them soon!

Really hoping for that extra $100, but if I don't get it, no biggie. I just made us $100 to go toward next year's trip!!

Thanks for this thread. I emailed Chase from my account and my husband's account. I hope to hear some good news back. Perhaps $200 for me and $50 for the husband. That would be very, very nice. But I will be happy with whatever amount they give us as they could always say no and that would suck lol.

I emailed chase and got $20 dollars credit. I'm not complaining cause it was $20 more dollars than I had when I woke up this morning. Plus it will buy at least 2 cokes in a month when we go to WDW. Thanks for the tips.
