Have any of you stuck with just 150 points and are happy? This was a big chunk for us and to buy more the tax and maintenance would be alot for us. So my question is for those of you sticking to the 150 how has it been and has it been a value to you? Do you wish for more points alot LOL?

Be delighted in having 150 points!!!...that's so much better than zero!!!!! Right!?! With banking and borrowing, that gives you lots of points and great vacations at WDW! Think about everyone who wishes they HAD 150 points and could be in DVC!! So, don't worry...enjoy the points you can afford and start planning those great vacations!
:jumping1:

Yeah you are totally right. I am telling you we have awesome plans already through borrowing and banking especially this year being our first DVC experience. We have been plotting out our next three trips. One I am booking tomorrow :) But you are so right especially with the banking borrowing option :) :bounce:

We only have 175 points but I plotted out our vacations for the next ten years. Pretty much we'll be going every other year to every 2 years with the banking and borrowing.... Mostly borrowing... I think, it will work out great for us!

See that is close to how we are doing it but since we will pull our kid out of school we will be going off season which uses less points. It may change as he gets older but for now it looks like this will be the best way :)

We are 150 BCV owners since 7/2002. We banked our first year and now plan trips 2 out of 3 years. We went last December and will return this fall for about a week each time in a 2BR. With annual passes shared for 2 trips and DVC, we feel like we are getting a great deal on amazing vacations.

After that, we are planning a year off (no trip in 2005). It sounded like a great plan when we bought. We both agreed that we wanted the kids to see other places than Disney, but I am secretly hoping the wife will change her mind about the year off and agree to an add-on.

Even if we remain at only 150 points, we have found a way to go to Disney for a week at a time with a 2BR suite on-site for a very reasonable outlay. 2 of 3 years is more often than before DVC, so I am just counting my blessings.

We love our 150--with borrowing and banking we are livin' large--

also remember that if you time your trip right the maximum points for one trip that you can use is 600 (4 years) not the commonly believed 450 (3 years)---but to do so you have to have your trip occur at the end and beginning of your use year...then you have up to 4 years' worth of points---example--we are August Use Year so we could go at the end of July and beginning of August and use 1-3 years of points before Aug 1 and then on Aug 1 another use year allows you to use up to 1-3 years depending on what you used before--- so that the total could be 200 points before and 200 after or any mix and match so long as you don't exceed 3 years total on either side of the July 31/Aug 1 fence. For us this means some year we could afford Sun thru Thurs Grand Villa or smaller accomodations for a lot longer...

YAY I am glad to see happy people. I know we can make the 150 work for us too but I am always thinking if we just had 25 more LOL I am so excited about all of this I can't sleep! We want to do the wonder cruise and 2 nights at saratoga this Sept OMG I am dying to book it! I am calling in the AM :)

While I wish I could add on, I'm happy with my 150 pts. We plan on almost every year at this point. Staying in a studio unless we travel with another family. But, it's working for me. Love DVC!!

with 150 since 1999 - but we are currently adding 40 more. We've been borrowing and borrowing. We've also been taking MIL the last few times and have needed a one bedroom, so we need more points. Enjoy what you have!

150 points, every other year, two bedroom for a week.

Happy.

BUT, and this is a huge but for me....its easy for us to afford our 150 points, and our biannual Disney vacation. Dues are not a burden. Biannual park tickets for four do not need to be scraped up. The 401ks are fully funded, the house nearly paid off, the kids college accounts have money in them. We can afford to cruise on cash, and if we want a longer or more frequent stay, I can rent points or pay cash. I don't think I'd be happy with 150 points if I ever felt that this was painting me into a financial corner.

The only other thing I regret is that 150 points is not enough to share with everyone I'd love to share Disney with. But it is enough for us.

We have 150 points. Last month, I needed to borrow only 8 points in order to host a 4-day family reunion for us and my husband's brothers. We stayed in 3 studios. We can get a break from winter, and go to Florida for 2 weeks every spring, if we stay in a studio and go elsewhere on the weekend. I couldn't be happier.

I am in the process of trying to add on 25-35 points, but that will be it. It will be plenty to do the things we like to do.

nhw

We have 150 points. We haven't gone down yet, but will in May for our first trip.
We are only using 65 points this trip so next year we will have 85+150, 235 to use.

I expect in the future we will take a trip every other year or so we can get a larger room.

Either that, or we will add on:D

We have 150, but I would love to add on. Right now, it's enough. But one daughter's getting married soon, and the other daughter is having a baby, so our family is getting bigger.

Since the girls have been out of high school, we usually go alone, so 150 points is more than sufficient since we just stay in a studio. But, I know when grandbaby's get older, I'll want to start taking them too. I know with borrowing and banking we could do more, but that would entail going every other year, and that would be so hard for me.

However, 150 is where we're at now, and where we'll probably stay for awhile. I am so thankful for what I have, and will be content if that's where we stay, but one can always dream.

Our 1st contract was for 200 points...not a huge amount...but with some creative vacationing, and use of points, and picking when we wanted to use points vs. pay cash, they wroked well for us.

150 is perfect. Actually right now its too much but I expect on an ongoing basis it will be perfect. I never expected DVC to satisfy all my needs so I just use cash where ever I have to. Much cheaper than buying more points than I need for an average year.

We were perfectly happy with 150 points for a whole 10 months. :p we just added 50 more. We figured that with family going we will need 200 points and room to borrow.
but that is it, really.

no, really.

We just bought into DVC and purchased 150 pts. We have already seen how much you can get. Already this year we booked two seperate trips (May & November). Both are at our home resort SSR, and both trips we have a studio.

So - for 11 total days we used our 150 pts. 11 days is a pretty good stretch if you ask me.

We may end up banking our points so that we have 300 to use the next time. It all depends on what happens, but for us, 150 pts seems fine. Plus - not every vacation is at WDW, so 150 pts gives us the flexibility to go every year, or every other year and be able to use our points.
