JEAN!!! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: We ALL have these days...where a cheeseburger/fries just sounds so much easier than addressing our reasons for not losing. I have to admit it...I LOVE food! :) But I also love the way my body feels when it's strong, lean and healthy...there is a happy medium in there...we're here to help everyone FIND it! You come right back and share those struggles...but ya also gotta share the SUCCESSES!!! Like the fact you're here and sharing!!! That's a huge success!!! You can do this...I love pilates...they had some good DVD's at Costco/Wal-Mart that have worked very well for me...the flexibility is GREAT for helping with backaches too! So YAHOO for planning on finding some good exercises you can start making a habit!!! AND HOW about that GREAT eating plan today???? Can I come eat with you?????

Debra!! I TOTALLY love your step down for eating...that's kind of how I do it, too..and it really works!!! I like cutting out 1 or 2 problem foods, too..French fries are a no no...it's amazing how I mentally will not order a cheeseburger unless I have the fries with them...I'd rather choose the salad if I can't have french fries...that goes a long way in changing my eating ways!

:love1: GREAT CHEERS TC!!! Do you think I'm going battie when I read the word "clippie" and think of chippie or read "mountain" and think Mountain Dew???? It's HARD losing weight...but the mental part is to me the hardest...I can overcome my desire for chocolate chip cookie dough..one day at a time! :)

Linda!!! I'm with you...TOM gives me a license to EAT!!! I need someone to put restrictions on that license! :)

Haley!! GREAT Op-out on the potato v. cheeseburger!!! YAHOO!!!! :Pinkbounc

Regina... :cool1: You LOST ON VACATION!!! Strike up the bands!!!

Maria!!!! FIRST!!! YOU KNOW you did NOT gain that many pounds in those few days....even you're not that GOOD! :) I say you put on 2 pounds and the rest is water weight...in 2 weeks I bet you'll be back where you started...and we can go into the 160's together!!!! :) There are soo many of us teetering in the 170's...let's kick it and get down to the 60's baby! :)
Where's day 2??? I love trip reports!!! We leave in 4 days and I have done NOTHING to get ready! Must get ready! Can't wait to hear your reports!

LESLI!!!!! WOWZERS!!!! 190???? You are going to whoosh right down to the 150's and take us with you!!! I think they should name a whoosh storm after you!!!!! SO great to hear about your awesome weight loss!!!! Keep it up and share how you're doing it...we need details...in case you changed things up when hitting plateau's and all that...

GREAT food choices TC!!! Don't let the turkeys get you down...just imagine your squad leader with a gobbler around her neck and when she talks..just imagine "gobble, gobble, gobble" and she won't get to ya! :)

Food for me..
Breakfast..2 pieces of bacon
Lunch...roast beef/cheddar/small salad
Snack...peanuts
Water 2 glasses..must drink more!!!

Tara

Hi All,

I just wanted to check in with everybody while I have a spare second to do so (which is extremely rare during the school year...TV - what is that???). School started for us teachers on Tuesday of this week and the kiddies came in for their first day today. They did beautifully and I am very impressed with how they managed their first day of middle school (we start middle school in the fifth grade in our district).

My eating has been fairly good this week. I had a few small portions of things not on my diet during lunches provided by the PTO and Board of Education, but for the most part I have been okay. My feet are swollen beyond belief right now though and hurting terribly. I still want to push myself outside to walk though. I just do not know if I could make it! :(

I hope everyone is doing well. Tomorrow night we are going for lobster for my birthday. :cake:

Hi everyone-
good so far--but the night is long!
probably 5 cups coffee/splenda & coffeemate light
7 oz cooked wt, lean turkey burger--no bun, tomatoes, & onions
6 diet biscotti--50 calories, no net carbs for each 3
egg beaters omelet w/onion, low fat cheese
6 strips Louis Rich turkey bacon
about 50 oz water.....I am spending so much time in the bathrm that I have begun planning a remodel! :tilt:

no! I haven't exerised today! :guilty: but the night isn't over & maybe DH feels ..uh..frisky! :rolleyes1 I know, will do 15 minutes on my stairsteps
Wow! Tara you are really a ball of fire! Please don't ever mention chocolate chip cookie dough again :crazy2: I am off to Costco next week to check out exercise tapes
Regina--you lost on vacation????!!!!!! You're my hero!
Hello Nikkibell-seems like you're doing a great job, despite all the goodies aimed yr way. :bday: :cake: :flower3:

I actually plan my cheats--it helps me get through.
I learned this spring, that no cheat--other than vacation--can last more than 1 meal for me ie Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, my birthday (celebrated at WDW this year! :goodvibes ) Easter dinner. I just am incapable of being 'good' when i allow myself more than one day. Vacations are easier, because I am walking so much. This past Feb/Mar I gained nothing while @ WDW & ate everything I wanted to. Returned & went right back on the diet. job stresses & silly worries, however, & I go bonkers! I do not like to take tranquilizers, but am thinking the Dr gave them to me for good reasons, so while I do not use every day, I am taking them again when feeling frazzled.

Have a good evening all & thanks for the cheers!
:cheer2:

Jean

Hi All,

I only have a quick minute or two to share my eating for today.

Breakfast: bacon & cheese biscuit

Lunch: roast beef & swiss, veggies

Dinner: Mac & cheese

We are leaving for the Myrtle Beach in the morning so I won't be around this weekend. On that note I need to get my son in bed and get back to packing.

Hope y'all have a great weekend.

I am the same way. If I go off for one day, I can get back on track. BUT if I am off for two or more days (except for vacation) I have a really hard time getting back on track.

I also 'plan' my cheats (tonight I wanted an ice cream treat that the rest of the family was having that had 330 calories, so I had a salad for dinner instead of what everyone else was eating).

Good evening!

I am alive! LOL! I started my Masters this week and tonight was curriculum night (aka parent-teacher night aka open house depending on where you are from)

This is really the only night all year that I get really, really nervous for. It's hard to be confident when you're voice is shaky, but I did it!

Three down...how many more to go until retirement? ;)

Yesterday I had a binge...I was freaking out about everything so I just ate, but tonight I'm not going to do it...and, frankly, I just got home and it's 9:30 and it's almost my bedtime and then time to get up and do it all over again tomorrow! AH!

A success for me...I have not been eating ANYTHING in the lounge from all the yummies and treats we have. We have a number of people who love to cook and a few that have won awards actually so it's wild to see what will be in there each day. I'm really trying not to eat anything so that it's not like...oh just this one time!

Have a great night! :)

:jumping1: Happy Birthday Nikki!!! :jumping1:
Enjoy that lobster!!!! How are you treating yourself today?? Buying any inspiration outfits? Any fun gifts for yourself??? Let's hear it for Nikki!!!

I finished off last night, fairly well...had roast chicken/green beans/small corn on the cob/1/2 a roll...I was trying to do an all low carb day but that roll was sooo inviting and the corn was so small! :) I did manage to walk 15 laps around the track while my son practiced football...my dh is out of town this week so my exercise has been stuck laying all that mulch...my arms are finally losing their soreness...and my hamstrings are starting to loosen back up....I dread weighing in tomorrow but I WILL!! :) We leave Monday morning!! AAAGH!!! I have sooo much to do...so if you don't hear from me until the 20th..you'll know I'm loving life in Orlando...We're staying at the Contemporary Resort (never been there) and this is our last Disney trip for atleast 10 years...so we're going to live it up and pay for it when tax refund kicks in! :)

My 38th birthday is 9/13..I'll be wearing my botched tie-dye shirts with all my family and getting that birthday pin on main street...so you know all those birthday desserts will not go untasted....then it's back to LOSING...only 2 weeks until that wedding and I really want to get 5 pounds off in 2 weeks....then I REALLY WANT TO see the 150's by Turkey day!!!! Let's get it rocking.....and I'm hoping when I see the 150's I'll forever be here with you guys...pulling and cheering for you all to join me....I think 152 is a good number for me! :)

Have a great week everyone!

Tara

I need a boost! I have been in the same spot for 10 days! Back and forth, up and down a little, but haven't been any lower than this for 10 days. SOOOOOO I am challenging myself to make it through the weekend without going over 1200 calories per day. The weekends are my hardest, and I usually mess up on Saturday. I figure if I could stay good through the weekend and then stay good all next week, by next weekend I should see a new number!

Debra

Happy Friday!

I'm done working for the day and home with my ds. This is the last noon dismissal day (thank goodness!), so next week should be more normal. I had a Kashi Trail Mix Bar for breakfast, an apple and raisins for a snack. I had a 1/2 c. of chicken noodle soup, pb sandwich on diet bread, and 1 oz. of reduced fat kettle chips for lunch. So far I'm up to 13 points.

I'm planning on soup (4 pts.) for dinner, followed by a Lindt ball (2 pts.). Since I can have 22, whatever will I do with those extra 4 pts?! (Ha Ha, trust me, not a problem). I'm hoping to not be hungry with all that, but if I am I have plenty of low point snacks around. Those 100 calorie chips deluxe are 2pts!

So, on to the Trip Report:

Day 2 - I made sure my ds answered the phone for the Mickey Wakeup Call. He was so excited that Mickey Mouse called just for him. We had breakfast (Kashi bar/Nutrigrain bar on the balcony, and were downstairs to "re-check" in around 7:45. Checking in on our package was not a problem. My belief that we could just head right over to the MK was. Turns out if you have a land/sea, you have to check in with DCL before you start all your fun. So, we checked in with the nice DCL representative, and then we went to catch a bus for the MK. At this point we were about 30 minutes behind in my schedule. I was afraid it would blow the whole day, because my dh was adamant about being out of the park as quickly as possible. As an aside, the nice DCL lady was from my dad's teeny tiny hometown of Chaffee, MO. I have never met anyone outside of MO from Chaffee, so that was kind of fun. Anyway, we entered the MK, and followed my super special schedule, guaranteed to get us in and out. Surprisingly, we really didn't have any problems. Crowds were not big, we didn't really wait for anything. That was partly due to using Fast Pass, but really, crowds were nothing like I'd expected. By 12:00 we'd finished our itinerary for the day, and decided to take the monorail to Epcot. Epcot was a five minute walk from our room, so it seemed like a good strategy. By the time we got off the monorail it was pouring! I hadn't brought our rain stuff, because it wasn't supposed to rain until the afternoon. Silly me! We toughed it out, and it soon stopped. By this time my ds was clamoring for lunch. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to sit down at any countries in the WS, but decided to try the Rose & Crown, since it was the first place we came to. We were seated in about 2 minutes. It was about 12:30, and still wasn't a problem. I had the Fish and Chips. It was o.k., but I don't feel the need to eat it again. I think I'm spoiled. We live next to the ocean and get fresh fish every Friday, so I guess I have a high standard. We went into the UK Twinings shop, and I came out with a tea sampler and a few candy bars. I love the Cadbury and Nestle chocolates they sell in the (real) UK and Canada. We have a shelf of this type of product in our local grocery store, but they never seem to have the things I really love. Anyway, then we walked to our hotel and went to the pool for the afternoon. Everyone was very happy with this. The pool is fantastic. My ds and dh had a great time on the slide. I really liked the whirling waters. We went back to our room about 6, and got cleaned up. We decided to take our chances with counter service in Epcot. My ds insisted on eating at the Liberty Inn. I know, not very adventurous, but I had plans for Day 3, so I decided it was easier to let him have his chicken fingers...We had planned on going to Illuminations the following night, but since we were all in place, it seemed a shame not to stay. So, we all enjoyed the show. My ds really loved the fireworks. Then it was a quick walk back to the BC, where we decided to skip MK early magic hour the next day. I knew if we got up, we would be miserable. The entire family needed to take it easier for a day. So, we decided to exchange our planned rest from Saturday to Friday, and see what happened. Finally we were off to dreamland after once again putting in the request for a wakeup call.

Nikki -- A super Happy Birthday to you! I hope all your dreams come true in the next year. :cake:

Debra -- I know you don't want to hear this -- but I suggest adding a little exercise. Your already at the minimum for calories, you really can't cut much more. Plus, you're body probably needs a little shakeup in it's routine. I bet if you walk that mile both days of the weekend, you will be cheering the results! :cheer2:

Jean -- The llama farm sounds adorable! I would have to make myself stay away. Have fun with the critters! :paw:

Tara -- I think you are right about the water weight. I was down a pound this morning, so I suspect it's just going to slowly release from my body. That makes me feel better! You are going to have a fabulous trip. You can lose 5 lbs. in two weeks -- if anyone can do it, I know you can! :grouphug:

Linda -- When you get that balancing act together, let me know how you do it. The only benefit to this time of the year is that sometimes we're just too bone-tired to eat! It sounds like you are doing fantastic. Don't wait for us, I promise we will catch up to you! :goodvibes

Lisa -- I can't imagine having a lounge full of treats calling my name every day. I'm proud of you for staying strong!

Haley -- Have a wonderful trip! :moped:

Regina -- Are you off on another vacation?! It's good to be you! :flower:

Jen -- What are you watching for your Friday night movie this week? I confess it's SciFi Friday all the way for me! :tilt:

Lesli -- Congratulations are in order! You are a great inspiration for all of us. I hope you are very proud of yourself, because you certainly should be!

O.k., everybody, it's the weekend. This is a tough time. Don't hesitate to check in whenever you need to see a word of encouragement! We're going to a BC (Boston College) football game tomorrow, so I plan to find a way to pack a Kashi bar...It's hard to sit for 3 hours and not eat...but I'm gonna try!

C'ya real soon!
Maria

Hi all!
running around all over today, well not running running! by car of course! :rolleyes1

L--chicken leg & thigh, diet Pepsi
Iced tea, water, water & water!!!!!

Linda--keep that 90 degree weather there! :sunny:
Debra--how did things go today? My DSis just ended a 3 week plateau! so don't get discouraged, it'll happen! :flower3:

Morning Losers!! :goodvibes

Here is another story for you reading pleasure. Subbing is never a dull moment :rotfl:

I am tired after a busy week and yesterday I was in the class from h_ _ _ :rotfl: :rotfl: 1st and 2nd grade boys - special needs. I was the assistant - thank goodness not the teacher..

Now let me tell you these boys - all 8 of them are little pistols plus one sweet adorable little girl who just needs comprehension help!! This is only the third week of school and one of them left the building and disappeared for 3 hours (not yesterday thank goodness)!!! He decided he didn't like the class told the teacher he was going to the bathroom. Well claimed is backpack and left the building - walked 1 mile to his aunt's house who doesn't speak English and never bothered to call the school to say he was there. They had the police and everyone looking for him - YIKES :faint: Happy ending!!

Another one has had so many destructive temper trantrums that yesterday he had an inschool suspension!! :faint: :upsidedow He probably didn't even understand why he had an inschool suspension.

Then add in the other 6 that are just let's say disruptive and adventurous!!!!

AND THEY ARE 1st GRADERS!!!!!! Can you imagine if they continue this path what they will be like come middle school......hopefully I will be retired by then.
YIKES!!!

NEVER BEEN SO TIRED AFTER A DAY OF SUBBING!!!

OK OK OK!!!! Going to have to scream right now!!! Hanging and stuck at 170!! Current immediate goal is to see a 16_ on the scale ASAP!!

So today need to keep focusing on portion control!!! Water intake and I am dealing with TOM coming on Tuesday!!!

Jean - Being a BIG CITY (Chicago) girl I really haven't experienced county lanes and hay carts. How far are you from a big city or town? Sorry about missing the ride:( Hope you have a better weekend.

Maria - Your trip sounds GREAT!! Makes me want to start planning the next one which if all goes well will be next year. DD21 wants to do the college program starting in the summer. Ok I am sitting at 169s door and knocking loudly....are you coming???

Debra - As much as I hate the word exercise I agree with Maria need to find a way to up your calorie burn.....doesn't have to be an exercise routine....how about a long bike ride? Hang in there - it will start dropping again. :wizard:

Tara - HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME!!!! :jumping1: Say hi to my favorite mouse. Are you staying in the wings or in the tower at the contemporary? Hope you enjoy it.....we stayed in the south wing and they stuck us in the furthest corner - will never do that again.

Have a Dole Whip float for me!!! Then walk it off!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TARA!!!!!!!!!!

alittle early!!!!!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend and has time to let us know how you are doing.....off to get my Saturday errands done.

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Maria!!! Love the trip reports!!! You sound like me...commando ride queen! :) I'm getting excited just reading your trip! :)

Linda...WOW 170...you are going to see 160's next week and you're going to STAY THERE!!!! You must give us a report....on how it feels to be a 160'er!!!

Well, the scales were not kind...I'm up 3 pounds from 2 weeks ago with my all-time low of 175.8...it's a combo of the junk I've had and extremely sore muscles from all the yard work...I broke down and bought slimfast again...I just need to make the next 10 pounds go off without thinking of what I'm eating every moment...it's easy for me to do 2 shakes and eat a regular meal...I'm sooo ready to see 160's it hurts!

Two days till Disney and not a kid has a clue! :) Our plan is working!!!! :)

Tara

Thanks everyone! :lovestruc

Last night, we went to our favorite restaurant here on the Jersey Shore. It is a very fancy place with a piano player and everything. I had one glass of White Zinfandel and plenty of water. For dinner, I went over I am sure, but it was my bday! lol I absolutely adore lobster tails and had two of them. :)

Today we are having a party at my parents' house for me. It should be full of things I can't eat, but I am going to really limit myself. I am going to walk in a few minutes, too.

My kids at school are fairly good, but still in the talkative elementary stage and need to switch over to the middle school stage being that they are in fifth grade now. I have one boy who I am deeply concerned about because he is selectively mute and just had a parent pass away in March. Anyone have experience with these types of children? :teacher:

Okay, I am off. Have an active, Disney day all! :Pinkbounc

I think I know why I was holding steady all last week. TOM showed up last night. I forgot about that :guilty: . So at least I understand.

I have been uping my exercise this past two weeks. DH has been asking me to go for a walk with him in the evenings and we are walking 20-30 minutes around the neighborhood. Yesterday I mowed the yard all day (and we have a mower you have to push yourself--it's an electric mower). So I have been getting a bit more exercise.

I am still trying to do good over the weekend. I have such a hard time on weekends. Last week with the 3 day weekend I really went wild (stopped counting calories when I hit 2000 the first day). Looks like the weight I put on last weekend is gone and I can try moving into some new numbers after TOM is gone.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Maria, Love your trip reports!

Linda, I know it is frustrating. But you WILL break through to the 160s! I bet next week you will be telling us how you got to see the new numbers! Hang in there!

Tara, I wish we could all come with you to celebrate your birthday! Have a great trip and give us a report when you get back! I love reading about other people's trips to WDW. It helps me get through to my next Disney fix!

Lisa, I would have a hard time passing up homemade goodies! I can do fine with store bought (because I just tell myself there are always available and I can get them another time), but homemade stuff is SO hard to pass up. I'm proud of you being able to resist!

Have a great weekend everyone! I have my extra bag of carrots, and I AM GOING TO GO THROUGH THIS WEEKEND WITHOUT CHEATING! (I know I will cheat next weekend because we are going to Indianapolis to this hotel with an indoor waterpark for the twins' birthday next Saturday and we will be eating out--so I must be good this week!)

Debra

Hi All!
Linda--Holey Moley! If you were the little dahlings teacher I swear you'd be a stick in 3 months! :scared1: Am not sure how sane you'd be, but you'd be a slim screamer! :sunny: Really, my hat's off to all working with such challenging students. DSis works with challenged students--for 6 wks during summers, too!--& I know it is mentally & physically taxing. :grouphug:
Yes, here 'in the sticks' there are some extra rules of the road & few passing lanes! :p
No one wants to make contact with moose, so you always slow way down when cresting a hill or near the 'moose' wallows, or at night We get the cow, & geese parades, bears in the yard--who wants to dash out to the car when Smokey's investigating out there--& deer, silly turkeys, porcupine & the most dreaded----skunk! :scared:
Following hay wagons, logging trucks, ancient pickups--invariably hauling uncovered, loose loads--dawdling sightseers (ie 20 in a 45 :rolleyes1 ), drivers hauling boats up twisty country lanes which are often unpaved, & who can forget those BEHEMOUTH travel trailers! YIKES!
Most days, however, it is gorgeous, all leafy, rolling hills & folks do actually let other drivers into 'traffic', rare is the finger waving ---
Still, dodging moose has got to be easier than riding herd on a room full of wild 1st & 2nd graders! :tilt:
Tara has inspired me to make some ADRs today
Off to work now!

Jean

Weighed in!

I just went for my 2.4 miles walk and weighed in! I was soooooooo scared that I'd gain this past week because there were two teacher luncheons and then we went out last nite for my birthday. Well guess what!

TWO POUNDS DOWN!

:Pinkbounc  :cool1: :cheer2: :bounce: :rolleyes1
