Hello everyone! I am a newbie to this board, so here's my story:

I'm Brandi, from Baton Rouge, LA. Have one DS, Alex who is 2 1/2. Dh is Paul. I'm 29 and manage a bank branch. We are new DVC owners and our first trip "home" is in September. Since Alex was born, I have hovered between 170-180. Joined WW a few times online and do very well when I stay on track. I have not renewed as I am using that money towards our savings. I am a member at a gym, too. I can't excercise early at the gym as I hate for DS to be in daycare from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM. I'd rather not take him until I'm on my way to work at 8- even that little extra time with him is special. Where my problem lies is that I always end up having things that need to be done at night. DH wants me to excercise, but really hates when it cuts into his time. However, he has been doing much better. Lately, I've been working out only once a week. Did better this week - went twice and just today went walking and did some other excercises.

So, my goal for good is 135, but for now I will join the 150 club since that woud be awesome, too. Started reading this thread just today and, after eating some of DS's Easter candy, decided enough was enough. Although this needs to be a life long change, for now, my motivation is to be in a swimsuit without being embarassed by September for our trip. My plan is to go to the gym MWF- I try to do 25-30 minutes at least of cardio and then two sets on the weights. I will probably do one class each week on one of those days as well- like pilates or kick boxing or whatever. I've decided that today is my start day even though I had candy for berakfast!

So, I walked briskly (!) for 25 minutes and then did things like lunges and squats and kicks (used to be a dancer) for another 10-15 mintues. Was breathing hard, which is a goal for me now as I was doing just enough not to breath hard or sweat. So now I feel like I need to sweat and breath hard!

Good luck to everyone and I will try to go back to read more of your stories!
Tomorrow's goal is to not eat anything fried all day- big one for me! And to eat at least two servings of fruit and keep it to one Coke! I also plan to excercise by doing cardio for 35 minutes and my weights. Wish me luck!

Hey gang! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Easter candy goes in the trash tonight!!!! :rotfl: We had a fabulous long weekend in TN mtns. Kinda of a renewal of sorts for us both :sunny:. DH :love2: is very supportive of the lifestyle changes I am making. We did slip and spent two nights chilling in the hot tub which kinda elevated the blood pressure and made me light headed but no damage done.

Finally, there are no holidays in sight and I can get back on track!! Two months to work really hard, DD graduates hs end of May and I need to drop some serious LBS by then.

To all you newbies :wave2: and welcome aboard. Hope to see you around often! These gals are the best at support and understanding!! :teeth:

To all you losers hope you met your goals this week! :cool1: Let's get busy!

Good morning fellow losers :wave::wave::wave:

Today is the start of trying to get back on track. Last week was a lousy week with no exercise and worse eating. DD2 is back to college and I am back on Long Island. Will make it easier to exercise - better than staring at hotel room walls all evening.

Have a good day

Onward and downward

Kathy!!! Yeah!! April 15th is ALMOST here!!! Life should be looking easier for you...we won't let those taxes tax you! :) Say GOOD MORNING, rise and stretch that body...with all that travelling they'll need a good long stretch before you start building them stronger and leaner...there are NO more holidays for atleast 5 weeks (I don't seem to want cheat foods on Mother's Day...just barbeque on Memorial Weekend!) so let's make these 5 weeks some major losing ones!!!! YEAH!!!

Brandip22!! WELCOME!!! You sound like you have a precious family...my children were angels and sweet during their terrible two's...everyone thought I was the luckiest mom...then they hit three...what happened?? Three for us was the most challenging, then they mellowed out around 4....so enjoy the energy of your ds right now and I promise you if you follow his routine daily...you can't keep ANY weight on! :) You can do this and you're being wise by trying to give up the bad things one at a time...pretty soon you won't miss fried foods! :) Stay strong and keep doing those lunges..they are GREAT! :)

Melissa!! You're going to have a busy May...I remember hs graduation being one ceremony after another...boy that month will fly by! YES!!! I WISH I could throw away all the Easter candy (I didn't do as well as I'd hoped....I had one cadbury, one Reese's Peanut Butter Egg, one marshmallow egg, 4 mini Reese crunchy eggs...but I stopped there...whew! so it certainly wasn't a losing day for me!)...we have SOO much Easter candy in the house but I dumped it all into one bin and the kids can dip into it over the next month or so...actually, I feel really yucky from eating all that sugar and they don't appeal to me at all..hoping that feeling stays!!! :) Let's really get kicking, moving, eating well so those scales will shine on us in April...

Everyone make sure I've covered all your losses this past month...I've decided to not posts gains...I'm running out of space with all the losses! It may take some of us 2 weeks to get into the 150's while some it will take 2 years...It's taken me two years to get this far but it's all about continuing to push on...we may need a siesta every now and then but we're here to help you when you need that extra hug to move ahead. I'll add up the losses on Thursday and post how much we've lost to date...I think you'll all be shocked! :)

Let's do it 150's!!!
Tara

Hello Club 150! Hope everyone is having a productive Monday! :flower:

Tara, the good thing is learning when to stop when you get to munching on things you shouldn't. I truly believe that is key to weight loss because you are going to stray but stopping the binge it important. You are doing great! I understand completely that yucky feeling from sugar!

NYcpa, I am with on getting back on track as I have been trying for a couple of weeks now. We have had a touch of warm weather and that has been motivating!! Good luck this week! You can do it!! :sunny:

April is around the corner and so is spring cleaning...big clothes are being boxed to take to Goodwill. Since we are going to be having company in May I have to redecorate a bedroom and bathroom so hopefully that will keep me busy and out of the kitchen. Of course, all this graduation stuff is bitter sweet since this is my baby graduating. She will be spending the summer in Vail, CO working and doing some traveling with her grandparents. Good for her and truth be known me too! But she is going to stay home and go to college for two years so I am not going total empty nest. Anyway, I ramble on.

Get busy and get those pounds to the curb!!

Well, I don't know how I managed to miss this. I guess I'm on WISH in spurts so I miss some stuff. I'm going to try and hit it more often. To me, the best people are on the WISH board. :goodvibes

So, Tara...........can I join your ever-so-growing group?? I will probably be in this group the longest, so I'll be here a while. That's ok with me. Progress and getting to the goal is the most important thing, no matter how long it takes me.

I'm so excited, the new Ironman treadmill got delivered today. Yeah! So hopefully DH can get it up tonight so I can have my first workout. I'm going to start slow and try to stay on as long as I can. Even if it is a crawl, I want to stay on. :teeth: Everyone send some PD for me, OK?? :wizard:

When do you guys post your loses?? Is it on a certain day or just whenever you lose?

Thanks for all the support. :grouphug:

Forced myself to go to the fitness room and exercise. Walked 30 min on treadmill for 1.7 miles.:banana: Will need to speed up to do the half in Jan 06. I figured if I didn't execise, I wouldn't be able to stay awake and get any work done.

Talked to a fellow CPA today and she thought I had myself spread a little thin. She is a great one to talk. She audits the ERISA funds I do the work for to get them audit ready. We make a good tag team. And to think accountants do nothing after tax season. :rotfl::rotfl:

Did't do as well with eating as I had hoped. One of the women brought in a bundt cake left over from yesterday. It was a yellow cake mix with apple sauce used instead of the oil and water for moistening. It was very moist and tasty so I had 2 pieces. :guilty::guilty: Didn't piece the rest of the day. Had 2 handfuls of chex mix for breakfast, a cajun chicken wrap for lunch and a slice of chicken broccoli pizza for supper. I had flavored aguafina for lunch, and diet caffeine free pepsi with supper. Including the aguafina, had 40 oz of water. Tomorrow will try to do better with the water.

Have a good evening

Morning All from sunny Muncie Indiana :sunny:

In the middle of the worldwind college shopping trip. Off to see Purdue University today and tomorrow Illinois State before returning home - WHEW!!

Nothing exciting to report....eating has not gone well but have been walking alot.

Thursday I am attending my first Weight Watcher meeting and the beginning of another chapter in my life. :cheer2:

Have to admit I miss not going to the fitness center......feeling sluggish. :guilty:

Will be home soon - can't wait to talk to all of you :flower: :flower:

In the meantime don't forget to keep moving :cheer2: :cheer2: and keep LOSING :cheer2: :cheer2:

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Linda

Well today's WI didn't show anything... no loss, but no gain. It's that TOM, so no big surprise  Next week I KNOW I'll see those 150's :cool1:

Just wanted to say a quick hello-sounds like everyone is doing great!

Although I've been working out as usual, my eating plan went down the tubes last week thru yesterday-not sure why but I just gave in to everything. Luckily I didn't gain and am remaining at my current weight so that is good I guess.

Was back at it in the gym this morning and have had a great day so far! Hope all is well with everyone here! :)

Tiggerkeeper!! How did packing all those old clothes go??? Aren't you TICKLED not to see those big sizes again!! YAHOO!!! I hope you get to visit your daughter in Vail...summertime is the BEST in Colorado...so much fun and lots of healthy activities to do! :)

Mom of some Dwarfs!! (I forget the right names by the time I scroll to the top! :)) Great to see you here!!! YEAH!!! Come on in!!! How's that treadmill? I might really consider getting one next year...I love my walks...I just prefer them outside and if the weather doesn't cooperate I tend to forego it altogether...I need NO excuses! :) Even if you have to set the pace on crawl...just GET up on it!! Go at whatever speed you can for 10 minutes...then the next week up to 20 minutes...within a couple of weeks you can be at 30 and on up! I noticed that when I went from 30 to 60 that my weight really started shaving off and I could eat "off plan" or not as restricted and still lose...you're going to love the results!!! :) And everyone posts their losses on their own weigh in day...so just feel free to pop in when it's good for you....and if you're having a challenging day...pop in and we'll pep you up! :)

Kathy!! You guys work tirelessly during tax frenzied months...I just hope that when April 15th hits you might be able to breathe more freely! :) Inhale, exhale, prepare taxes, inhale, exhale, prepare taxes...somehow it seems like you should burn more calories as a tax preparer! :) Great job on making the exercise work for you that day! And I think your eating was really good! Atleast you got some green veggies in and you had a healthier cake! You're staying strong and keeping the exercise going...it will all pay off for you!! :)

Tera..you're losing on the inside and the scale will show it soon!! I can't wait for you to BLAST into the 150's!!! WAHOO!!! I'm getting giddy thinking about it!!! Do you realize that we haven't had an inductee into the 150's yet!!! You could be our flagship WISH'er!!!! :) STAY STRONG and think 150's!!! :) I know you'll just be passing through and I hope you will start a club for where you want to end up..you're a GREAT MOTIVATOR!!! :)

Welovedis!! Those holiday weekends just catch us off guard and we lose ourselves in eating...you're wise, smart, and savvy and can kick that holiday eating so long...say so long baddie foods, and hello energizing pound kicking foods! :) Stay the course....YES you will make it!!!

I did my 4 mile WATP last night...trying to vary my indoors workouts to throw my body off guard...I did pretty well on the back to losing eating after holiday splurging....I did still have a few M&M's but kept it well below a portion..I've had NO chocolate today and that's pretty good. My weigh in is 2 days away and I don't want to sabotage it...I hope to see a new number! :)

Tara

Hey ladies! Well, I did pretty well on Monday. I had a horrible muffin for b-fast which wasn't great at 11 points. But, had a lean cuisine for lunch and peaches for dinner- I know, not a good dinner, but better than junk, right? I did round that out with a few Pringles!! I went to work out as well, though. Had to hurry as Dh was having a hard time with DS, but managed to get in 25 minutes on the bike and did my weights, too. I am sore today, though. What really hurts is my back. I can't go to the gym tonite since DH has class, but I will do a pilates tape here at home. Maybe that will help my back some- to strengthen my "core" as they say.
Let's see, today, I had Cheerios for B-Fast (much better than my usual Coke Icee and Twix!) and a Chicken Salad Sanwhich with the fries for lunch. I totally forgot about my goal of no fried foods. I will do better. Tonight it's just DS and I so I will make some baked chicken and rice, which we both love.
Hopefully these next few months I'll be busy enough not to snack too much. I'm a bank manager and have to meet my goals for the 2nd quarter, so I should be out and about a lot drumming up business. All of that walking in the summer in Louisiana should help, right?

Tara- Great job on eating- I'm an M&M lover as well- the peanut ones jsut call my name, so that's great to only eat a few. We have to give ourselves some leeway, right?

Welovedis- glad to see you were back in the gym.

I debate working out everyday, but I think that if I least try to, then I won't be so guilty when I can't make it one day. Do most of you work out every day or what? Also, how do you get in a whole hour? I get so bored after 25-30 minutes. I've tried switching machines, but it still drives me nuts. I really want to do an hour though,. b/c when I've done so in the past, my weight has flown off, but I just can't find the time. Maybe if I do 30 minutes in the morning and 30 in the afternoon? What's y'alls advice?

I'll hush now- CIL

Brandi

Tara, Tara......... :wave2: Hi.........so nice to speak to you again. You are so encouraging. Is that your spiritual gift? I think it is. Thanks. :goodvibes

And I am so excited groupies.........guess what! I DID 60 MINUTES ON THE TREADMILL LAST NIGHT!! Yipee-I-aaa!! Woo! I was smokin' people! :teeth: Actually it was more like 2.9mph at a 2% incline...BUT NO MATTER. I did it and that's all that matters. I put on a "Mercy Me" cd and went to it.

I will be on it again tonight. I want to switch to mornings, but my schedule is lopsided right now.

Oh, and feel free to call me Mom of Dwarfs or hey! Pam is good. :) I picked the longest user name on the Dis, I'm sure. Whatever! (I wasn't as computer savvy as I am now  )

We are in the middle of painting our family room/dining room. After that it is the master bath. After that, the master bedroom.........after that, .........well you get the idea. We have been here in this house for 6 years, it's time to get some things done. Fortunately, when we moved here, there wasn't anything to do. The owners had no children and everything was like in "House Beautiful" or something. Well, (a-hem) it's not like that anymore with three kids and a dog. :teeth:

welovedis.................glad things didn't get too crazy pounds-wise for you. And way to get right back into it. Way to go. That is the hardest part. :cheer2:

Tera....................you'll get it. That nasty ole' bloat fairy......... :p How exciting though..........you've almost acheived the goal for this group. That's so :cool1: !!!

Linda.................pardon me......but are you a college student? I'm new to this group so I don't know you too well yet. :) And may I ask about your user name..........Is it Christmas 1956? What does it mean if you don't mind me asking? Good going with WW. That program has been very good for a lot of people.

NYcpa.............howdie, neighbor!! Well, sort of, I'm in Corning. :wave2:

Tiggerkeeper...........hey, you're going to be redecorating also. What fun! :teeth: Actually, it hasn't been that bad. But the more we do, the more tired I'm going to get at seeing furniture in the middle of the room. And your baby graduating. Wow. We have lots of graduations coming up in our family. Let's see.........my niece graduates from Cedarville University Nursing School May 7th, my nephew (my twin's firstborn so this makes me feel REALLY OLD) graduates high school in Atlanta May 28th, my other niece graduates high school in Harrisburg, pa June 3rd, and THEN the niece that is graduating from Cedarville is getting married July 2nd and my DD9 is the flower girl and my DS5 is the ring barrer. Whew!!! Did I get that all out?? Should be a fun spring! :teeth:

And to everyone else.............howdy and have a great day and night. Keep with your program.

Brandi, Hi. :wave2: I know what you mean about getting bored. I was a little bored last night. I just kept telling myself, KEEP ON IT, KEEP ON IT!! I am going to keep switching cd's also. I'm just going to have to tell myself not to get off.

:flower:

Brandi!!! YEAH!! You WORKED OUT!!! Your muscles are sore now...(I advise avoiding the scale when you feel soreness...extra pounds for water and inflammation don't mean you're not LOSING!!!)...but once you get into the swing of it you'll stop feeling all those pains...you've done it before...we just have to do it again and make this be the one that sticks.

For me, challenges are good. I signed up for the Oprah Boot Camp challenge and essentially I committed to work out 6 days a week with one day off for 12 weeks...I knew in order to continue this weight loss I had to start getting my muscles in shape...right now this is what's working for me...dh comes home Thursday nights from his job in AL...so that gives me Friday/Saturday/Sunday to be able to do my long walks outside while he watches the kiddoes. I usually walk around 7 and if the weather is GREAT I'll push it to a 5-6 mile walk, if I just feel up to getting it done I'll stick with 4 miles. I just drove in my car until I hit the 2 mile mark and walk to that point and back. Then on the other three days I mix it up with exercise videos...I love this Cardio Pilates I bought at Costco..it's 45 minutes and if I'm really good I try to add the arm weight exercises on Oprah's website. I also do the 4 mile WATP...by varying it up I think I'm using more muscles which will hopefully keep my metabolism up. And it really helps me stay true on my eating...the exercise makes me crave water...I really have avoided diet cokes these past few weeks...and haven't had any sugar drinks (except for a few small juice glasses of cranberry or grape) since I started this on January 20th. I really take the time now to buy more fresh veggies/fruits...I love craving the good foods. I could live on value meals and load up on the ketchup prior to this re-commitment..so I knew I had to go cold turkey on french fries...I know if I eat one french fry..I can't stop at my fries....I go to my children's fries...they never eat them all! :) Seeing the weight come off and feeling how fleshy I feel (actually a good thing!) instead of puffy marshmallow dough boy feeling...makes me realize this fat is leaving! When I stretch my legs up for the "teaser" move in pilates I see three diamonds in my legs!! I see those muscles taking form...now when I'm standing up gravity takes over and those 3 diamonds turn into 2 but hey...I'll take the little victories! :) The longer you stick to it the easier it seems to be for me...I can really see that goal nearing! YOU WILL TOO!!!! But, hey, we gotta get you some better food...peaches are not acceptable as an entree! :)

Pam!!! WOW!!! an HOUR ON THE TREADMILL!!! And at a 2% incline! :) I'm a wimp when it comes to inclines...Oprah said to up your speed and incline and I just scoff...hey, I'll go faster but you don't lay a finger on that incline button! :) You are going to be SOOO busy these coming months!! Stay strong...stay focused...set mini-goals and remember to smile...that always helps....my kids see me doing some tough crunches in the pilates DVD and my little one always says, "I don't see you smiling, mommy!" I will when I get these last 8 inches off my waist! :) But, she's right...the little smile goes a long way! :) Share the colors you're painting!! I'm in the painting mode if we can ever sell this house and get into our new one! :) That's a GREAT workout too!!! :)

Moving on DOWN GANG!!! Each day is a NEW day...so if you've been having a rough go..know that tomorrow is BRAND NEW and you can make it great! :)
Tara

Hey everybody! :wave2:

Worked out again last night while watching "House" on Fox. So far I like that show. I'm not sure why. :teeth: I think I like his sarcasm. ;)

I did 60 minutes with 3% incline. I think I'm going to keep it at that incline for now and work on my speed. I can only go 2.5-2.9 now. I want to work up to at least 3.5 before I increase the incline.

Ok. Painting...........here is the color of the back room (our family room and dining room).........GOLD. Yes, you heard me.....it's called Bryant Gold, but to me it's almost like honey mustard. Ofcourse I would give it a food name...... :rotfl: I hope it doesn't make my kids crave chicken nuggets. :teeth: Actually, it's beautiful. And we ordered furniture that has olive green, gold, taupe, red...........it's a tapestry fabric. The chair we ordered in red and that is what I am going to do the valances in also. It should turn out very rich looking. Just painting the room makes it seem so much more warm already. I can only imagine how it is going to turn out. I'm very excited!!

My bedroom is going to be soft green with the fabrics being green toile. I just love toile so I had to have a room done in that. I think I might do the powder room (which is off the back room) in red. It's a small room and I need to be able to hide marks that the "you know who"-s put there, so I want a dark and bold color. I've always wanted a red dining room. I can't have that because it is shared with my family room and it just wouldn't look right. So the bathroom is going to be it.

How's everyone else doing today. :sunny:

Managed to get in 60 min of exercise today, 15 min on bike and 45 min on treadmill. I shold exercise for at least another hour to work off the calories from a bag of almond M&M's. Someone at the office gave them to me. She had them left over from Easter. All gone so will not have them calling my name tomorrow.

Am having problems getting back on plan. Have good intentions but keep going astray. Am somewhat stressed trying to juggle 3 different accounts plus tax returns at the office and home. Will it ever end. When will i figure out there are only so many hours in a day. Worked until 11:30 last night, got up and 6 and worked another hour, then went into the office for 9 hours. Will need to put in another 3 - 4 hours tonight. Get to go home on Friday so I can be in the Syracuse office on Sat for tax appointments.

Will strive to get back on schedule. Only managed to get in a little over half of my exercise minutes for the March challenge. Will work harder for the April challenge. Need some placeto get outdoors here on the island instead of doing all my exercising indoors.

My schedule for April is next week in Syracuse, 2 weeks on Long Island, 1 week in Syracuse, and 2 - 3 more weeks on Long Island. Looking forward to going to Disney on the 29 th of May.

Enough babbling for now.

Good luck to all fellow 150er's. Keep up the good work.

Spring has finally made it to MI, :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I have spent as much time a possible outside since Sunday. Instead of using the eliptical machine I have been able to walk outside for my excerise. I have been walking on my luch hour, then coming and playing with my kids. With spending so much time outdoors, my eating has been better and it has been easier to stay on track.

I am still trying to get the length of my exercise up, I don't know how all of you can use a treadmill for 1 hour, I get bored after 20 mins, and that is with watching a video. I have been doing better with the intensity, when I walk outside, I walk faster and can feel it more, and when I am home and walk with the kids, that is an extra 75lbs that I am pushing.

Pam! Those colors/toile sound beautiful!! Have fun painting and using those muscles!! Great job on the treadmill!! I like to do 5 minute bursts of speed...I start out at regular speed then at minute 5/15/25/35/45 I will set the speed .3 notches higher for 5 minutes then rest at my regular speed for 5 minutes...it really does train you to walk faster! Stand Tall and breathe and you'll DO IT!!!

Kathy...almonds are GOOD for you...so don't knock yourself...drink your water and let the exercise you've been getting in take care of that for you. I'm just amazed at how strong you are in handling all these travelling days...that wears you out! And you STILL manage to work out...YOU ARE DOING IT!!! The scales will be your friend soon!!!

Regina...I don't think I could do a treadmill at home...I'd like to try and get one one day but I really need the eyes staring at me to keep on that thing...at the YMCA there are about 30 other people on treadmills and just watching them run or sweat makes me not want to wimp out...plus I LOVE that feeling of doing 60 minutes and feeling my legs feel like noodles...cause I know they're burning the fat off these thunder thighs! :) I'm soo glad the weather is picking up for you..I think it's much easier to lose when you're outside alot! :) Away from the FRIDGE! :)

I lost .5 pounds this week...I was really hoping for 1 pound but what do you expect after my Easter transgressions...so I'm really going to kick it up so I can be at 181 by next Thursday...do you know what that will mean?? That 2 pound loss will put me at my 60 POUND CLIPPIE!!! I'm probably one of the few WISH'ers that it took over a YEAR to go from a 55 pound clippie to a 60 pound clippie! But I WILL!!! :)

Tara

WE ARE OFFICIALLY A BUNCH OF LOSERS!!!

The total for losses up to the end of March (if anyone weighs in today I'll add it in to our total) is drum roll puhleasseee....

116.2 POUNDS GONE!!!

Together we've lost a person! :) April has 30 days..that's one less than March so let's kick it up and make it a month to get us closer to GOAL!!! :)
