Hi everyone. Can I come back? I know it's been a LONG LONG time since I even dared come back here because I somewhat ruined all of the progress I made.

After I didn't make cheerleading, I sunk into a deep junk-food-no-exercise rut where I thought Cheetos, extra pepperoni pizza and pints of sorbet and TV would get me somewhere. I got somewhere but it wasn't a place I wanted to be-I did a WI this morning and landed at 215!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Since Thursday (and every other day after that), I have been trying to become healthier because I LOVED the me that was and I'm not quite sure I adore this new junk-loving person I have become.

My first goal would DEFINITELY be to reach ONEderland. Weight: 215. Waist measurement: 42. Stomach around measurement: 45. What I'm doing about it: food journaling, portion sizes and reintroducing myself to exercise. Why: for me and for cheerleading (but mostly me).

It's been really busy here because we have a play coming up, and state proficiency tests (especially important because this upcoming one determines if I graduate!!), and work...so this will definitely try me. It's been a long hard time since these lights were lit on this path towards the new me, but I know the way. It's just going to be living one day to the next.

Thanks!

Jen!

Welcome back, honey! It's so good to see you post. I've been wondering about you lately...you know we will support you all the way on your journey. You have the tools to do it, just like we do, and we're all going to use them!

I have a feeling I'm at an all-time high, too. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm close to 200, I haven't weighed in a long time. Like you, I have a new commitment, and I'm headed down the scale now. We're all going to get to the 150s, and we're certainly going to get healthy along the way. :grouphug:

I did my TM run, and then I walked an hour. I plan on adding walking hours three or four days a week and hopefully that will spur some big progress. I had a small bowl of cereal w/blueberries for breakfast, and I am determined this is the week -- 24 pt. days or bust!

Maria

Thanks for the welcome back, Maria!!!! It's like coming home from being away on a LONG trip.

I'm thinking of buying an exercise ball and a couple of new exercise DVDs today-any recommendations?

Jen, I love the dance type workouts. They seem much more entertaining. Right now I have a Denise Austin dance workout. It's more fun then a regular aerobics workout DVD. I have an exercise ball too, I never use it! When I bring it out I get two seconds on it before the kids steal it from me :lmao: They just love that thing, so I keep it hidden now. Another cheap way to some aerobic exercise is jump rope, bonus, it's fun too!

Maria, with all that working out you have been doing, you have to see some drop on the scale. I always see weight loss in terms of exercise not so much serious calorie or point counting. as least that is how we learn to do it in the Army.

Melissa, I remember coming back from PT (Army Physical Training) in the morning after tons of push-ups and not being able to lift my arms to do my hair :lmao: You should have sexy arms in no time!

I'm having a "cheat" day so I can stop the chocolate craving before it gets out of hand. I would love pizza, but when you are poor your will power is phenominal, I can't afford a pizza right now, so I won't be eating fatty cheese topped pizza tonight. I will be eating Chicken nuggets though, not much better, but it's what the kids want and I don't feel like making two dinners. Well, that's all for me, the kids want everything when I'm on the computer, so I'll just see to them right now. Good night ladies!

I am now the proud owner of an exercise ball and the FIRM Cardio Dance Blast! :)

Thanks for the tips, shellynn!

Dinner here is going to be homemade pizza and I am HUNGRY! I may have to have a snack because the sauce is just heating up.

It's a beautiful kind of morning here and I started it off with Honey Nut Cheerios instead of two gi-nourmous 50-bazillion calorie cinnamon rolls. Our youth group is doing a "romp around the pond"-we get to go out and play in the snow!! I haven't done that in quite some time, so I am excited.

Best wishes to all for some "beating down on the pounds" and being victors over who we were yesterday!! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Good Monday Morning

It is the start of another week. I know that this one will be stressful for me because my son's Eagle Board of Review is this week. I know he will do fine but then there is a second one that I am worried about. I thought I was handling things pretty well until I did something with some friends last night and the husband said to me "Dona you usually look lovely but tonight you look stressed" I know that he said it out of concern for my health and well being. I guess that the last week or so has finally gotten to me. I even slept through the alarm this morning by 10 minutes. I didn't work out this morning but I am writting it into my plan for this afternoon. I packed healthy food to eat today. I am roasting a turkey breast for dinner tonight with sweeet potatoes and broccoli and I plan to do some knitting tonight and go to bed early. How does this plan sound?

Welcome back Jen I have missed you. I hear you are doing Once Upon a Matress. I am working on costumes for Pirates of Penzance. With only 70 costumes that is a lot less stressful than the last couple of years. I am heming the nightgowns the girls wear in the 2nd act this week while the costume guy does their dresses. We still have to trim hats and parasols and hem the police pants. All the buttons have been sewn on the police costumes jackets (17 for each jacket and there are 9 jackets. Thank heaven for the sweat shop moms who come every week and hand sew for us)

Michelle congrats on the weight loss.

Kathy Ican't believe all the snow you are getting. Don't do too much and reinjure that shoulder. But you are getting a good workout.

Maria I can see that you are on a roll. Congrats for all the exercise that you have been doing. It will really start to show and soon.

Melissa those new clothes sound great. I have bought myself a few new things and they always make me feel great about what I have accomplished so far.

For any one I have missed this morning I am sorry. Time to get to work and start educating the youth of America.(Someone has to do it why not me!)

Hi donac! Your dinner sounds excellent. We did a caberet show during the Fall, so we all found our costumes. Now we're being bussed up to a costume shop in Toledo, so we don't have to fiddle with that. I applaud you for being a stage mom! We appreciate it so much for all you stage moms do! What other shows have they done? We had a truckload of costumes too (we did Cinderella last year...holy moly!).

It seems to be a ghost town today. I have to run but I'll come back and talk later :)

Jen, I hope you like your new video. Let me know how it goes. Eating Cheerios instead of Cinnamon rolls is great!:thumbsup2 I always eat cereal because it is free on WIC (that's women, infants, children free food program for those that don't know) The cereal I get for breastfeeding is regular ole Cheerios or Total or Kix or something healthy like that.

Dona, I think maybe you needed that! A nice relaxing evening should be just what you need to get back to your non-stressed self again. Try some sugar free hot cocoa in skim milk. YUMMY! One of my favorite indulgences. It's not too bad as far as treats go. i hope you feel better.

All my cheating this weekend stalled my weight loss, but at least I didn't gain. I'm going to try to take it easy for a few days, no roller blading. My hips hurt something terrible (Army disability) But it's fun so I'll pick it up again in a couple of days. Nachito is home sick today, he woke up with a temp of 100 and has been getting worse this afternoon. At least he is just sleeping and I still have time to DIS while the girls take their naps. Okay,I'm off to the Theme Parks board to plan some more. I only have 5 1/2 more months till we go, ya know! There's planning to be done, oh, and weight to be lost :woohoo: Have a great day.

Hi shellynn! I tried and finished the video today. MAN oh MAN it kicked my behind! I'm used to yoga so cardio was fun and trying. I will definitely keep working on it.

Give Nachito a hug for me-it's no fun being sick! Take it easy and have fun planning your trip!

HI MIchelle and Jen. Well dinner is done and the dishes are washed except for the roasting pan. I just wanted to check in before my dh and ds go out to another scout meeting.. I was knitting before and will pick it up again after they leave. I have to finish my mittens and hat before the snow starts falling tomorrow.

Jen I have been involved with my sons school plays since 2001. The first years they rented costumes and I helped to put up a couple of hems. That was for Hello Dolly (one of my favorite shows). The next year they got a guy who not only did sets but costumes so I helped him finish the costumes for the Wizard of Oz. After that we di Barry Manilow's Copacabana. That one almost killed us. There were over 300 costumes (we stopped counting after 300). The following year I only helped a little because I my second son was not at the school but the same costume guy was there and they did Crazy For You. Next was Suessical. I was on call for all 6 shows because some costumes were very delicate and the students who worked with the costumes had not idea about how to sew. We used a lot of chiffon and feathers and they would often come undone when the girls stepped on them wrong so we were constantly resewing them back on. Last year we did Evita. There were a lot of costumes with a lot of parts. Each cast member had a couple of changes and it involved full outfits that were different for each cast member. It was not a very pretty show and at times the costumes were quite drab. Pirates is a very pretty show. The girls only have two costumes. A long dress that comes down to right above their ankles with pretty tie boots, hats and parasols. In the second act they are in white night gowns with robes made out of chiffon that was in their dress from the first act. All the colors are in beautiful pastels. Then there are the pirates whose coats look like they would belong on someones couch. We sewed a lot of buttons on them and I think we still have to get some of them dirty before opening night. ON SUnday they took the pirates down to the beach to get publicity shots. The sweat shop moms just finished sewing buttons on the policeman jackets. Each jacket had 17 button on them and I think that there is still more to go on them.

MIchelle take it easy with the hip. I haven't roller bladed in years. It always bothered my ankles but I did like to do it. I hope the little one gets better soon and does not give to anyone else.

To everyone else I hope that you had a great day. Keep up the hard work.

I started my diet and exercise program the week after Christmas. So far I have lost 23 pounds.

My goal is to get to 150 lbs, so I have 97 lbs to go.

A long way. I have been doing it alone. I never thought to look to my Dis friends to do it with me. Can I join your group?

Thank you

Good Evening, Ladies!

I did my TM time tonight. I am feeling overwhelmed at work and home. My boss is on vacation, and she left many tasks where she told other people I would take care of whatever was needed, she just didn't leave me any instructions, so here I am. Our kitchen sink is clogged for some reason. DH took the day off and has snaked it, but nothing yet. I think it's time to call in a professional, but who can stop an "unhandy" husband when he thinks he can fix something himself? :confused3

I wish I could just take a week of sick days, but that's not very practical. I'm actually hoping the snow we're supposed to get Wednesday is enough to cancel school, so I have an excuse not to go in. I know that's terrible...but I am trying not to find consolation in food. Hunger isn't the cause of these problems, so food is not going to fix it.

I can't face the scale. I did measure, and I've lost an inch in the largest part of my hips, so something good is happening. I had a Greek salad for dinner. Hopefully that will offset the tuna sandwich and dark M&Ms I had for lunch.

Disneynut -- Welcome! Anyone and everyone is always welcome here!
Congratulations on your success to date!

Dona -- How's that knitting coming? Kudos to you for finding a great way to occupy your hands. You are the kind of theater mom teachers dream of! I'm sure they are very grateful for all your contributions.

Jen-- I'm glad the new video is challenging you. You are off to a great start!

Michelle-- I hope Nachito is feeling better. There's nothing worse than when your kids are sick. It's much harder than being sick yourself, as I'm sure you know. Thanks for the encouragement. I'm sure they taught you some great weight loss methods in the Army. I have a friend who joined out of high school, and the first time she came home she was smokin' hot! Whatever she did absolutely worked! Take it easy on your hip. You have so much to deal with, you shouldn't be in pain, too

Melissa -- How are those sexy arms coming? Are you working your trainer hard?!

Kathy-- You must be covered under a blanket of snow. I hope the shovelling isn't too intense!

I'm off to get a good night's sleep, I'm sure everything will look better in the morning. Thanks for listening.

Maria

It is a b-e-a-utiful day here! Lots of snow and no school! It's such a shame we used up all of our calamity days (the school boiler exploded for 2, cold days for 2, fog day :confused3 for 1). It is very blizzardy outside, so to those getting snow...stay inside! Stay warm! Stay away from the Cheetos!

Dona-holy moly. That is a tough job. We can't do anything elaborate like that because A) we have "budget issues" and B) we have very few guys who can sing! The costumes sound wonderful, but like a LOT LOT LOT of work.

DisneyNut-:welcome: :welcome: :welcome:! Of course you can join this group...we're very supportive. Your weight loss progress is amazing :)

Maria-:grouphug: . I've been in that work position (in Student Council) and it is not fun. All of the schools (even the bigger ones like in Toledo and Findlay) around here are closed, so I'm sending some PD your way for that. Remember that in the grand scheme of things, those "emmies" (M&Ms) and that sandwich are just a blip on the radar. Congrats on that lost inch!

I am SICK! I caught whatever Nachito had and I feel yucky  I would like to sit around and eat all day, but instead I ate a fiber bar (surprisingly tasty) to keep the hunger at bay. I have the Live 365 tuned into WDW park music and reminding myself that I want to fit into those "skinny" shorts before we go to WDW in August, oh yeah, and DH needs to see a smokin' hottie when he gets off the plane in August too. I think I need to go to the grocery store soon to get more food, I have no good snacks left and don't want to resort to the kids food! Maybe I'll go eat a salad before the lettuce starts to brown and I have to feed it to Nachito's turtle, at least the turtle gets a nice healthy diet, I hope all that salad is keeping him fit and trim :lmao:

Jen, I'm glad you liked the workout. I hope you can stay warm on a nice snowy day. It is so overcast here in the Sun City, I might actually need to turn the light on in the middle of the day :scared1:

Maria, Looks like you need a  too! I hope you feel better, take a deep breath and shake it off. I do that about every 10 minutes here in my own house. My kids are very stressful, the little

Dona, You do so much! How do you keep up with it all. I feel positively lazy compared to you.

Kathy, Melissa, I hope you guys are doing alright.

I almost forgot something, Welcome Disneynut! Are you a Michelle too?

Have a good day, bye for now.

It's snowy. Again. Does anyone want some? I'll gladly share and you can have as MUCH as you want.

Michelle-good job on just the fiber bar! :thumbsup2 I love the way you inspire yourself. Feel better.

 Happy Valentine's Day!

Good Morning, Ladies!

Here I am at work. My hopes for no school were in vain. All the other school districts around us are out, but Boston, the district that never closes, didn't. My ds actually goes to parochial school, but since they follow Boston...at least the kids can have their Valentine's Day parties, so that is something.

On the bright side, we don't have afterschool, so I have to leave work at 1:30. That means I can only get done what I can...Also, there are plenty of other people who did not make it to work today, so my e-mails and phone calls have been pretty light so far.

Tomorrow I am working from home in the morning, and going to a meeting in the afternoon. Friday morning I'll be back on my normal schedule. But, again it should be light because plenty of people take the Friday before a holiday off.

O.k., so I have a new eating plan. I am eating WW entrees and desserts for dinner, at least until I get used to a smaller portion size. This is the best way I can think of to curb my night eating. Once I finish my dessert, I'm done. :goodvibes

I did my bike time yesterday and also walked slowly for half an hour. I'm hoping to do a slow hour-long walk today on the TM. I taped Boston Legal last night for just this purpose. :cool1:

Jen -- Enjoy your snow day! Someone should be able to! We just have sleet and icy conditions, on top of about 2 inches. It's just bad enough to be treacherous... :confused3

Michelle -- I hope you are feeling better today! I agree about the smokin' hottie in August part. Let's all work on that! ;)

Kathy, Disneynut, Dona, Melissa -- I hope you are doing great!:grouphug:

I hope everyone has a wonderful day. DH sent a dozen roses to work, so I'm basking in that glow!

Maria

Hey fellow losers! Hope everyone is having a geat day! I am doing a driveby drop in got my hands full since the arrival of a new puppy at our house! He is 7 mos. old a peek-a-poo/terrier mix rescue pup. He is completely black and weighs about 10 pounds fortunately he is about as "big as he is going to get" according to the vet. I have named him Kudzu..because he gets into everything...being from the South we have lots of experience with that instrusive vine so it seemed appropriate. I must admit he is adorable!!

Keep those pounds falling off and that exercise in high gear. I will check in later!! :grouphug:

:lovestruc HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY :lovestruc
My weekly weigh in has put me at 179.0. Hopefully, I'll be 178 soon. Unfortunately, I'm feeling mighty hungry today. I had to keep Nachito home again today because he was coughing so badly in class yesterday that I think he might have been interrupting class. I hope his teacher saves his Valentines for him. I really want to go aout and spend some money $$$. I think I would like to try to buy some new skinny clothes to try to fit in. It gives me something to look forward to and if I spend money on stuff like that, I won't spend it on unecessary snacks.

Melissa, A new puppy!! I love puppies. Mine grew up into dogs :sad2: They're not so cute anymore. Have fun with the new addition.

Maria, I love the WW frozen foods. If you eat a salad or some veggies with an entree it's pretty filling and it tastes pretty good too. That's what I do sometimes. The deserts are lovely! I love the Key Lime Pie, it's so tart and creamy it deffinately makes me feel like I'm eating something "bad".

Jen, I would not like any of your snow!! We have enough yucky weather for my tastes right now. I'm originally from Florida, so I like it kinda mild and no very cold weather.

Well,I think I might hop in the shower and take the kids out so I can buy myself something for Valentine's Day. DH was unable to send me anything from Korea because we had no money. So now I get to buy what ever I want :woohoo: Have a Happy Valentine's Day, I hope y'all have a romantic holiday.

I'm back for good!

You may remember me from last year, but I am 100% back and committed. I joined Jenny Craig three weeks ago and have lost 10 pounds! I am also learning how to eat right for the first time in my life. How IS everyone???!
