Hi Everyone!
Just a quick note to say I'm back from Phoenix. Beautiful, beautiful country out there. This conference was great for me with regards to personal renewal to my work and professional development. I really could not have asked for a better experience.
My eating and exercising are another story. But, I have FlyLady's new book waiting for me, so I'm going to read that and see where it takes me. My dh has committed to work with me over the next two months to make as much progress as we can. He could use to lose a few pounds, too, but he eats portions that would satisfy Shamu, so he can't be my role model in that way. He is also a runner. So, when he is running regularly, the weight just falls off him. It takes him one month to lose what I can lose in six months...but I digress.
I've been skimming over everyone's posts for the last week. It sounds like there have been some challenges, but overall you have remained or reaffirmed your commitments to kick some weight to the curb before the new year. That's what I'm thinking these days. Wouldn't it be wonderful to already be steadily losing when Jan. 1 hits? I'm terrible at New Year's resolutions, but if it's already a habit by January, I will feel very confident about 2006. That's what we all deserve!
So, here's to the start of a great week and new beginnings where needed. So, I'm issuing a challenge and making a commitment -- I am vowing that other than 15 pieces of candy that my ds selects after he checks out his loot (and these are for his sole consumption), the rest is going to work (insert any other location that's better for you) Tuesday morning. I'm getting it out of my house. I'm sure I will have a few pieces Monday night. But if it's gone Tuesday, I can't possibly turn one night into a weeklong affair. My idea for this week is to work on my environment. I'm going to set myself up to succeed. I have carrots on the grocery list. I am buying lots of fruits and veggies. I am moving all of ds's kid-friendly food to one shelf in the pantry, where I will not go unless getting something for him. I am putting exercise in my After Work routine. It finally dawned on me that I either work out or do my Flylady chores, but never both, because I get out of the routine. I'm going to make it part of the routine, and then I will do it. I'm almost religious about the Flylady stuff, because I finally can keep my home at a level that makes me happy. I don't know why it never occurred to me to do the same thing with my exercise...
This has been a lot longer than a quick note. I apologize. We writers are like that, and I haven't written anything since Monday, so you know I have a lot to spill out...
I'm going to go dive into the FlyLady book while my body is still 3 hours behind East Coast time, and I will be back tomorrow to check in. I am getting on the treadmill tomorrow, and I am going to eat sensibly.
Everybody have a fabulous weekend!

You're such an inspiration!!!! Oh, I know I can see a size 6 again! We had a out of town football trip yesterday complete with hot dogs and cokes..ugh! And tomorrow I'm weighing in...eek! Oh well, you guys are keeping me honest and here's some photos from the curvy wedding dress that keeps me really motivated to get the flab off those arms!
I felt like I was 25 again (OK, now I am back to 45, but for a brief moment I was 25

Mental attitude is half the game!! Baby steps are the only way to go. Missed you!!
Congrats......please do ever leave the group.....you help us find the healthier person inside of each of us. And YOU ARE RIGHT!!! No more eating at night!!
Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!!!! What a beautiful dress and a more beautiful person inside. We are all so proud of you and what you have done. The glue that holds this group together.
I think your eating is pretty good....but with all that walking you might want to add some more calories in...or exchange the Take 5's for some crackers/cheese or something with more protein in it...your muscles will need it and you'll become a master efficient walker!!! You are doing it!!!! I'm soooo proud of YOU!!!
I'm not a great "computer person". Maybe one of my children will do it for me.
