Good Thursday Morning

It is pouring here in NJ but that fits my mood perfectly. Ds did not make it into the program he tried for this summer. They only select 100 students out of all their applicants and he did not make it. I was bummed but we kind of expected it. Last night was crazy at my house. Ds got his rejection letter, we found out something unexpected about one of our scouts and the phone kept ringing off the hook about scouts all evening. Dh was not home for dinner and I didnot make the best choices but I will be back on track today.

Jennifer come back anytime that you can. Life does get in the way sometimes.

Michelle I hate the dentist too. I go to a female one and she tries everything to keep me calm. I now go with book to read while waiting and my mp3 player full of calming music (such as the background music to DW)

Maria How is the snow out there? The rain here is cold and hard. A few degrees colder and we would have a foot of snow.

Michele Welcome. This is a great place to get inspired

Jen and Wendy I hope the weather is better where you are but I doubt it.

Hi Everyone!

We ended up with nasty sleet and rain instead of snow. We're supposed to get actual snow Sunday, but one never knows.

I did 3 miles on the TM this afternoon, and I had a great eating day until my chicken dinner...no dessert, though, so maybe that's something. I'm just hoping for a 2 lbs. loss next Wednesday. It's been so long since I really tried with exercise and eating at the same time, I'm hoping this week will be a fresh start.

I'm trying to get to bed at a reasonable hour tonight, so no long post.

I am happy to report that after extensive time on hold not once but twice today, I was able to convert my room only reservation and add free dining for our August vacation. Probably not the best weight loss move, but a great deal!

I have not been a very good girl lately. I am not gaining, but not losing either. I need to try to get back on track, but I have been soooo stressed out that I can barely keep from going crazy most days. My two older children are just being bad lately because Daddy is not here to discipline and they are just so hurt and upset when I do it that I don't want to do it.

Dona, I have been wanting to get an IPod or something like it to take to the gym with me. I never thought of using it at the dentist. Thanks for the great idea, especially the WDW music!

Maria, Congrats on free dinning!! I wish we could get it, but its not applicable to DVC point ressies. Oh well. When are you guys going? We'll be there 8/5-8/15. I would have changed dates for free dinning though.
 
ShellyL--of course! Jump in! We love sharing inspiring reports, and we are here to be the shoulder you need for support. The WISH has certainly helped me when I have needed to just 'chat' about life and trying to be as healthy as I can. The best of luck to you!

WEll, just a quick note since it is late, and I am getting very tired. That is what happens when you try to catch up everything in the one day off!

As noted, we have had yucky weather. And treadmill is tilting at half mast. DH says it is easily fixed. I hope so. The calves are aching from no activity. Well, I have activity at work, but it is all short bursts, and not any long term movement.

I hear DH is home, and I hear the sleep fairy calling.

Will catch up later this weekend.

My main computer just crashed (I think ds1 did something yesterday afternoon. It worked fine on Thursday night) And my taxes are on the main computer. I now have to redo them. Ds2 worked last night and today to try to get it to start but no good. So I am off to do the taxes again.

My problem is that we can't hook up the laptop to the printer. And so it will mean another trip to the store to get the right cable.


Hope everyone else has a better day than I am having.
 
Hi everyone!

I haven't checked in for a while. We've been crazy-busy. Over Easter weekend, we painted dd's bedroom. That was a lot of work (how can 1 eight year old have so much stuff?!) plus I couldn't use my bike for a couple of days because it's in the room next to hers and the paint fumes bother me. Then, we went out-of-state to visit family. I did a lot of eating out. Next, I had some kind of stomach bug, which probably rid me of any extra calories I picked up in the restaurants. :rolleyes1 The end result is that I've used my bike only twice this week, but once my tummy is better I want to get back to my 8-10 miles/day, 6 days/week. My stomach still isn't 100%, but I'm much better than I was.

I requested 2 new ADRs for our August trip and am looking forward for confirmation from our TA that we got those meals. Once that is done, all of our ADRs will be complete! We are not on the dining plan, so I will not be doing appetizers and desserts for most meals.

I'm still clinging to the pretty-high 160s. While I'm happy that I haven't topped 170 again, I have been hoping to get to 165 for a while. I bought myself a new pair of capris to celebrate the weight I lost already. : )

Kelly, the stomach thing hangs on for a while. I had a mild version of it and my stomach was off for a week. Don't try to do too much too soon.

I just got back from the computer shop. He was able to get my tax file off my old computer. So at least I can send those in.
 
Good Monday Morning. I hope everyone is safe. We had a lot of rain but our town is not as bad as other towns. I took the day off because I need to finish my taxes and I had a bad weekend. I was a Global Warming Fair that a friend's daughter had set up and someone came up to me and said a couple of things that upset me. Between this and the computer down and having to redo the taxes I could not take it any more and I called in sick. Eating has been awful due to stress. As soon as dh and ds2 leaves for school I will be doing some yoga. I have a list of things that did not get done this weekend and I plan to get them done this morning and resting this afternoon.

My stomach is feeling better, so it's off to the normal routine with the regular stuff I eat and with exercising. It's also our first day back to school after a week long spring break.

Good Morning, Ladies!

Dona, we have your rain, and it just doesn't know when to leave...It's a holiday for us (Patriots' Day) so I'm home all day. I have a plan to stay out of the kitchen, so that should be good.

I didn't get my run in Saturday when TOM attacked, so I did it yesterday. 3.5 miles, which is a new distance for me. I'm still going to weigh Wednesday, but I have a bad feeling I will stay the same. I usually gain at least 2 lbs. w/TOM, so I guess if I stay the same I'm really ahead?:confused3 I guess next Wednesday will be the true measure of how I'm doing.

I've been doing better with cutting back on the snacks. We have a menu this week, and I've decided any time dh announces we'e having takeout instead I'm getting a salad. That will help. We also stocked up on fruits and veggies. We have kiwis, bananas, grapes, carrots, sugar snap peas, cucumbers, broccoli, green peppers and dh made guacamole.

Here's my eating plan for today:

B: cereal w/milk
S: kiwi
L: homemade pizza, Skinny cow ice cream sandwich
S: sugar snap peas, cheese stick
D: potato chowder, 100 cal Lorna Doone pack

If I get hungry, I will fill in with other veggies. I also plan to get on the exercise bike for 35 minutes, and I may walk on the TM, depending on how my day is going.

Dona -- I am so sorry this was not your best weekend. The computer glitches alone are way too frustrating. Trust me, I went for 6 weeks without one at home recently, and it is not fun. I know it's hard not to let other people get to you. If you look at me funny I crumble into a million pieces. Just take the day to be with yourself and feel good about you. Take a rest break. Do the things you need to do, and do something that makes you smile. :hug:

Kelly -- So sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I think these things just make their way around communities. I hope you are glad to be getting back into your routine.:thumbsup2 DS is on vacation this week, so off to camp for him when we go to work!

Wendy -- I hope your TM is up and running soon, so you can be, too!:cool1: I'll be glad when this rain goes on it's merry way. I can't believe the devastation further south. Hey, Dona, don't float away!

Jennifer -- You will have to tell us how you like LA Weight Loss. I don't think anyone here has done that -- but I could easily have missed it. It sounds like you are doing great! :upsidedow

Michelle -- The exercise class sounds like fun! I wish I had easy access to someting like that. You might really grow to love it!:dance3:

Jen -- How was your weekend? Did you have your spring break yet? Are you still enjoying the gym? :yay:

Well, I'm off to have that cereal and get going on my morning. I may even nap this afternoon. I intend to go back to work well-rested and ready 'cause I don't think I'll be able to take another day off until Memorial Day, and I should be pretty much flat out until then.

Hello everyone!

Just a really quick post today, as I am also doing taxes. DH couldn't get them to print, so I had to pdf them and send them to DS's computer and print them from there. I am just glad I am not having to redo them! Dona, my heart goes to you! As we always owe, we do our last minute.

It wasn't the best food weekend. DH made brownies, and well, you can imagine where a few of them went!

TM is still on a tilt. BUT the weather has been great and the dog and I have been out making the rounds. It was so nice to take my walk yesterday. 45 minutes and it was very refreshing. I hope the weather holds out and then the TM won't be such a issue anymore.

I am going to have to admit a weight gain. I really am going to blame the brownies! At 210. I so did enjoy the 208.5 I was at!

I am going to double my H2O intake. Right now it is at it's lowest. Probably another factor to the bad WI today! And, since I work evenings the next 2 week, I am going to take brown rice and rice noodles to go with my grilled chicken breast.

Taxes are all printed.

Time to go to the post office!

I guess i can say that I have thought of this thread alot since I first posted. I had a good day today even got in 35 minutes of excercise. Today is the start of a weight lose challenge I have started with my sister. We have money in a kitty and I am hoping I win. I kind of bombed out at supper tonight but probably not as bad as I think. The scales will tell.
A question I have, do you weigh yourself daily? Just curious. I sometimes weigh myself 3 times a day. Isn't that awful!
Well I will check in tomorrow.

Michelle -- I have to make myself weigh, and once a day is pushing it. Maybe if I weighed more often I would be more inspired...my weight can fluctuate alot during a day. I need to weigh at the same time daily to get a true read on how I'm doing. I also find that if I chart myself over a week, it helps. I just seem to have certain days over the week where I weigh more or less, but when I pick one day as the anchor, for me it's Wednesday, I can see how I'm really doing over a month or more. Good luck with your weight loss challenge!

I am feeling a little down since I think TOM is going to do a number on any loss I would have had this week, but all I can do is keep trying to do the right things.

I have a great pair of crocs picked out as a reward for the next 5 lbs. I lose. It's a big prize for me, but I need something to get me moving down the scale. I'm not ordering them until I see it, so I'm hoping to be there in 3 weeks.

Wendy, we have a few boxes of brownies I'd like to bake before summer hits. I think I'm going to make the 9x9 size so there aren't so many of them, but they sure are good! : )

Michele, I weigh myself a few times/week at the most. I've been stuck on the same weight for a while, and stepping on the scale more often would drive me batty. My short term goal is to hit 164-165.

Maria, what color and style of crocs are you getting? That's a great reward!!

Today I had one of my classmates, a friend of mine who hasnt seen me in about a week or more tell me I looked thinner.

Nice ego brush.

I was bad one night and had pizza, but still going strong.

Well, it's d-day....My weight has increased by 1.5 lbs. I'm pretty bummed. I know that it's probably due to TOM, but it's still disheartening.

I'm hoping for a real loss next week.

I did 35 minutes on the TM last night, and 35 minutes on the bike Monday, and 3.5 miles on Sunday. Today is a rest day. I may take a walk if if I have extra time.

I packed my usual healthy lunch, and we're having a chicken stir fry for dinner. Maybe tomorrow I will see a little improvement. I am really going to track my snacks this week -- that is, I'm going to really think about whether I want one before I eat it. I know I need to eat some fruit for dessert and close the kitchen, I just have to do it. I'm also making sure I drink more water, and I'm going to bed earlier. I'm going to try everything I can think of to get that number to go down. If it goes up again next Wednesday it's not going to be pretty.

Hello all, how are you guys doing this week? I'm alright I guess. I have been feeling a bit down. This happens when I have to spend so much time alone with just the kids. Its not that I don't love my kids, I just wish I had some sort of social life! I should feel better tomorrow, but for now, I'm just not myself. I am eagerly awaiting vacation this August, I can't wait for it to get here. I really wish I lived in Florida again, I'm kinda tired of El Paso. It doesn't help that DH keeps going off and leaving me here by myself. Okay, enough whinning for today. I have always wished I could work at WDW, I wonder if it starts tolose some of the Magic if you work there. Anyone know someone who worked there? Just something I've been thinking about lately.

Just reading over the posts and realizing I'm going to have start callling you ShellyL and Michelle -- otherwise I'm going to be confusing you left and right!

ShellyL -- It sounds like you are excited about the new system you dh has come up with to help you. I hope it is something you are excited about.

Michelle -- I understand the feeling down. I was certainly there this morning with my weigh in. Of course you need adult interaction! Your kids are awesome, but they are not grown-up. You are in parent mode 24/7, so please do go to the gym and class when you can, and give yourself a few little breaks. And remember to pamper yourself -- do something to make you feel special every day! That is great advice, we should all take it, myself included...

Have a great night. I had a blip with some Chinese food after a mindboggling day at work. I have six days before I weigh again, I intend to make the most of them. Lower weight, here I come!

Just want to thank you guys for being so honest in your posting. I read this thread and it gives me encouragement. I think I like it so much becuase I have been where all of you have been. There is nothing more discouraging then to get on those scales and they are up even if it is 1.5 lbs. I have often said that loosing weight is harder than most habits to break because it is "legal' to eat. No one really looks down on eating. So I wish all of you a good day and a nutritious day!
