Yes Kathy! I agree the snow is making me nuts and we are supposed to get nailed monday, tuesday and wednesday! You and I will be insane!!!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

my bio

I am a 31 mom of 1 dd who will be 4 in August. DH and I were highschool sweethearts. We met in our high school chorus.. We've been together for 15 years and will be married 8 in July. After being away at college we returned to our home town where I got the job of my dreams (music teacher) where I went to elementary school!

I live about 8 miles from Lake Placid ,NY... I was 6 1/2 when the USA beat the Russian hockey team. I remember watching the game on TV. I also remember when the torch came through our town.

Hobbies: playing guitar, reading, scrapbooking, watching nascar, and exercize ( I am really loving this time now!) Obsessions: Chocolate, Disney and the DIS.

Sarahsmom73 - It is currently snowing here. Forecast is lake effect snow for today, partly sunny (in whose opinion tomorrow) and snow for next Mon, Tues, Wed. Temp is nice warm 18. Feel sorry for those who have cold spell with temps in the 40's

Have a nice day and exercise hard

Kaye!!! I'm soooo HAPPY you're BACK!!! Life just does that to us sometimes...and I'm sure it'll be working it's backsliding magic on me over the next few months...I honestly feel coming here and cheering everyone on and sharing my weaknesses really helps me stay focused. I was lying in bed last night thinking...I had lost 55 pounds JUST LIKE YOU! Then all this stuff started happening (job transfer, house for sale, showings) and I just didn't think I could handle losing and life. Well, after 9 months of GAINING and life I said ENOUGH!!! Life's not gonna change so I must. I could be discouraged that I've still got 9 pounds to go to hit my all time low with WISH...but on the good side I've lost 5% of my body weight in a month!!! I figured if I shoot for 5% of my body weight each month I will be at GOAL by July....and my dh has really stepped up the motivation and has lost 3 pounds..he needs to lose about 35. It really helps to have a spouse who wants to get healthy! And the "new life" of eating/exercise really helps me handle the highs and lows of what life throws at me....so HERE'S TO YOU KID!!! You're gonna do GREAT and we're gonna help you get to the 150's... :cheer2:

NYcpa...the SELF program sounds GREAT, come on 150'ers...join together and make a commitment to MOVE!!! And my mind just can not fathom the amount of snow and weather you guys go through!! I really think our bodies are made to adjust to the weather...I had a dear friend from Minnesota come down to Memphis in August and she almost DIED because I didn't have air conditioning in my car...then I visited her in Minneapolis for 4th of July and it was in the 50's and I nearly FROZE to death..she's wearing shorts and I'm begging her mother for more quilts to cover up with! :)

Guys you are SOOO GREAT!!! The words of encouragment and STAY THE COURSE ring in my ears throughout the day! I'm off for my 4 mile walk and it's 45 outside...that's COLD for me! :) I'll be thinking of you all each step and trying to push my legs farther and faster! :)
Tara

Forced myself to exercise today. Spent 48 min on stationary bike for 11.9 miles at ave speed of 14.9 mph :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I really felt like taking a nap instead but the exercise was invigorating.

Reading posts from all of you has helped me to not give up. The bike was also used to burn off the donut I had at work and the candy bar (75 Cals) I had as a snack after work.

I purchased a bagel, but with clients coming in as soon as the ones before them left, I only took the time to inhale the donut. I can't wait for mandatory saturdays to end. they are when we meet with the majority of our tax clients. I chose the French Crueler hoping it had the fewest calories. There always tomorrow.

Also have been trying to drink as much water as possible, Much easier to do when in the office rather than out to a clients.

ONward and Downward fellow losers :cheer2: :cheer2:

NYcpa... :rotfl2: I was bug-eyed reading your last post!! I guess I thought you said you did the treadmill for 11 miles and 14.9 miles per hour!!! I had this visual of you FLYING across that treadmill at TOP SPEED! :) Great job on the BIKE!!! :) And I can't imagine working all through the week AND Saturday! We all need a good two solid days to live under our rules instead of a boss, school work, or what have you...I hope this time to April 15 flies by quickly....and actually I think the Krueller is better for you ....less fat than a donut...so GREAT CHOICE! :) You're doing GREAT!!! Maybe Jen can make up a song for tax preparers  Keep up the good work!

I actually walked my 4 miles today..didn't "KICK IT" like I should have....the birds singing distracted me and I was just more concerned about completing the 4 miles than having short spurts of mad energy to shorten my time...My best time ever on that walk is right at 1 hour...today it took me an hour and fifteen minutes...I'm okay with that. Daughter's birthday is Wednesday...sugar! The day before my official weigh in and she's gonna have chocolate cake!!! Guys, I just gotta have one piece! I won't make it a corner though...:)

Tara

Well I bought myself some motivation today!! I bought myself an adorable pair of size 10jean shorts! :hyper: Those things are TINY! If I can fit in those by summer I'm going to be one happy, happy woman. :teeth: I have them hanging front and center in my closet and I can't believe how happy I was just looking at them - imagine when I can wear them, I'll never want to take them off. I'm a solid 14 right now so I've got a long road to go but I know I can do it. Tomorrow I'll weigh in - update my ticker and Monday starts the road to my next goal - 10%! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I did my double session yesterday and it felt great! I wasn't even sore!!! :cool1: I can see the inches coming off now. That makes me feel good even if the darn scale is stubborn! I will do another double session today and then again on Tuesday if we get a snow day! :flower:

Onward and Downward!

Good Morning Everyone :wave2: Well Februrary was NOT a good month for me. I'm up a few pounds from where I started. I'm now 55 lbs away from 149 (so 204) and I've got my eyes on my first 10% - 183.6 - I can't wait to see the 180's again. :hyper: I'm stocked up on the good for me stuff and tomorrow's the big day - I head downward again!

Kaye!!! GREAT WAY TO START THE MONTH OF MARCH!!! I LOVE looking at my size 10 jeans hanging...I can't even see me in them yet..I'm a 14 and can fit into a few 12's but it's not pretty! You're just a stepping stone away from where I am...I started last month at 202...we will BE IN SIZE 10's BY SUMMER!!!! Summer officially starts June 21st....so we can do this!!! 145 is where I would LOVE to be..but I'm going to take a break when I settle into the mid 150's...then take the next year to try and lose those last 10 pounds...After being up as high as 258 I need to let my body settle and see how it looks at 150's...but I know it will look GREAT!!! Don't forget to measure those inches..I wish I had measured at 202 but couldn't find the darn tape measure...because even though I've had slow losses over the past 3 weeks (3 pounds in 3 weeks) I know my inches are shrinking...everything is loose! :)

Jen...you are doing GREAT with the exercise!!! I can really tell that exercise makes me stronger and I'm not lazying around as much as I used to...I just get up on my feet a lot more and do double the chores I normally would and don't even mind it....my body is craving getting up and doing stuff. I hope you're measuring too...I'm going to find that measuring tape today and make some notes...I'll report monthly inches lost and weekly weigh ins...this exercise will shrink us!!! :)

Off to do my daily weigh in...only 2 more weeks of daily weigh ins then it's weekly...I'm really enjoying the daily weigh ins and I think they keep me cheat free...but it would be nice to see a drop each weigh in instead of the up and down through the week. Thanks guys!
Tara

Good monring Club 150!

I am celebrating today! I am down 2 pounds and I am currently at 202!! :cheer2: This really doesn't make sense to me because all I ate this week were carbs, carbs, and when I was done... more carbs. ;) TOM is on it's way out the door so maybe it's a whoosh!

Today is day 1 on Phase 1 of South Beach Diet for DH and I. The house is stocked with low carb foods and we are ready to go.

Kaye~ I love your idea of buying a pair of goal shorts and hanging them up where you can see them! That is great motivation! You can do it Kaye!! :cheer2:

Jen~ You are doing a great job with those workouts girl! I'm sorry the scale doesn't always cooperate, but you are loosing inches and that is awesome!

Tara~ Great job with your walk! I wish we could hear some birds singing here in Ohio! :teeth: :cold: I think I have read somewhere that birthday cake has no calories, no fat, and no carbs! ;) So, you should be okay for your daughter's birthday. Happy Birthday to your DD!

NYcpa~ Wow! What a great workout! I love when exercise is invigorating! Great job! :Pinkbounc

Linda~ How is your DD feeling? I hope everyone is feeling much better! :grouphug:

Have a great day! You CAN do it! :cheer2:

Great Job on the loss Tracy!!! :cheer2: That is awesome!!!

Here is the song for the day: (Sung to Hot! Hot! Hot!)

See the fat going! We'll soon be strolling and be Hot! Hot! Hot!
On our vacations we'll shock the nation cause we're Hot! Hot! Hot!!!

:teeth:

Toystory!!!!  So LONG 2 pounds!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Aren't you just tickled!!! I think your exercise is kicking in and burning up all those carbs...if you had alot of carbs this week you should have a BANG up first week of SBD!!!! You are going to be in Onederland next week I just KNOW IT!!! If you like deviled eggs (those are one of my favorite first week foods...here's a recipe...8 boiled eggs...enough mayo to not make them too dry...usually 2-3 Tablespoons...1 tsp dry mustard...1 tsp white vinegar....salt pepper to taste and paprika if you like...they're yummy!) I'm hoping you guys have a great first week...please come here to report any praises or discouragments....many of us have been through that first week and know the ups and downs....drink your water and eat lots of salad veggies! :)

Jen! I LOVE THAT SONG!!! I'm feeling HOT HOT HOT!!!! Now I gotta keep that song in my head while I go do my 4 miler...it's starting to sprinkle...hoping I avoid a downpour...it's cool today...nowhere near the temps most you guys are dealing with (exception being IRIS!! :))....off to move my tush!!!

Tara

Good afternoon Club 150! :wave2:

toystoryduo 2 pounds kicked to the curb! WTG! Good luck with your SBD Phase 1 sounds like you gotta plan!

Kaye what a motivator...those cute little shorts will look marvelous on you this summer! :smooth:

NYcpa I was having TM envy too! LOL! WTG on that bike!! :cheer2:

Sarahsmom you wanna we threaten the scales for ya??? :rotfl2: Hey those inches are VERY important! Keep melting away! :Pinkbounc

I think it is safe to say after 3 weeks of no loss/no gain that I have plateaued :sad2: Bummer, not to mention it is the TOM. Ugh! My new mantra is...It doesn't matter how slow you go as long as you do not stop!

Keep up the good work all of you! Boot campers hup, two, three, four!
:grouphug: :cheer2: :cheer2: :grouphug:

Hi Fellow Club Members :wave2: Congratulations to you toystoryduo!! 2 lbs gone forever that's wonderful :cool1: :cool1: How did your weigh in go Tara? I love your mantra Tiggerkeeper! It is hard to keep that in perspective isn't it? I have decided to try and stop putting time limits on myself as long as I'm losing or at least not gaining I'll be happy. Hope the Whoosh Fairy comes and visits next week with TOM gone!!

Toystoryduo - WTG on the 2# loss, keep up the good work :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

tiggekeeper - hope the scales are good to you on your next WI. Sending :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for luck.

Tara - WTG with all the encouragement you have given us. It must be stressful dealing with the kids with DH living in another state. Hope you sell the house soon so you can join him. Here's some :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for luck. Maybe you will be able to :moped: :moped: :moped: to your new house soon.

Everyone - have a energizing and losing week :cool1: :cool1:

Onward and downward

Good morning LOSERS :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Today was WI. Scale didn't budge :guilty: :guilty: There's always next week. Will try to push the strength training.

Off to work and too many outside appointments :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

ONWARD AND DOWNWARD

Happy Monday Losers!!! Are ya all ready to feel "Hot! Hot! Hot!"

I successfully made it through both double work outs this weekend and am very proud of myself! They really weren't too bad, but I did sweat! :cool1:

Here's to a great week of loosing pounds and inches! :cheer2:

Happy Monday to all!! :flower:

Been MIA over the weekend - life really got in the way and did not spend much time in the house. WHEW!!!

DD is back on track. She is having some trouble handling the medicine. Her stomach gets upset so the doctor suggested drinking milk before and after. But the good news is that she survived all day rehearsal on Saturday and back to school today. Previews for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor start today with performances this weekend and next. She is one of the wives and has an expanded dance role.

This month is going to be insane!! There is no down time!! Will be out of town more than in town. :moped: :moped:

So now that DD is back on track I got up this morning and did the 2 mile WATP DVD and after work I am going swimming then being measured by a trainer. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Read everyone's posts and sounds like the team is moving forward!!

GO TEAM!! :cheer2:

Sending everyone good wishes and vibes for a focused week :goodvibes :goodvibes

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Linda

Good morning Club 150!

Thank you everyone for all of the encouragement! You are wonderful! :grouphug:

Well, Day 1 of SBD was okay. I had a horrible headache and some nausea, but I made it through the day! :Pinkbounc

Today, I plan on doing Cardio Sculpt Blaster in the morning and maybe a second workout in the evening.

Have a great day! :sunny:

Tiggerkeeper!!! 3 weeks plateau would put a stitch in anyone's side!! But we can't rely on the scale for our only measurement of success...all that exercise is building a stronger and healthier heart...muscles that will require more and more food (fat) to maintain and build...and sometimes the scale will deceive you into thinking you're at a plateau when actually your body is doing some incredible changes and once it realizes that exercise is a habit not a hobby it will MMOOOOOVE!!!! Get a measuring tape and you'll see some changes that will make you smile! Stay strong and you'll be sliding off that plateau in NOOO time!!! :)

Kaye!! I think there ought to be a rule...NO WEIGHING WITH TOM!! It does all kind of weird things to our bodies and even with the best eating/exercise it can really wreck our weigh ins...but there's always the WHOOSH!!! So here's to you having a WHOOSH after TOM!! My weigh in went fine....I had actually seen 190.5 the day before but that day was 191...I guess that 4 mile walk made my legs sore....hopefully they'll burn some fat by Thursday...my official weigh in day. Seeing 190.5 makes me KNOW I can see the 180's by Thursday!!!! LET'S GET EM!!! TOM will be coming the next week so I've gotta get it now! :)

NYcpa!!! Sending a scale blaster your way! The good news is ....you are working out in spite of your schedule which is amazing!!! And that will budge that scale for you in no time...drink lots of water...keep caffeine to a low and we'll WHOOSH those numbers away! If you can make it through this month you'll be through with this schedule (hope hope) and life will be more manageable...we're here to help you focus on what you can do to help your body get through this....water, good foods, move that body! :) Next week will be a GREAT week for you!!!

Jen!!!  Double workouts...MOVE THAT BODY!!!! Your body is going to be thanking you in smaller sizes soon! I LOVE your songs and they keep me smiling through these long workouts!!! : )

Linda...WOW!! You are going to be SOOO BUSY this month!!! Here's some tips to help you get through it....keep good snacks in your car for those on the go moments (small individual nut sacks, mozzarella cheese sticks, if it's cold enough in your car..yogurt, and go buy bottled water cases and keep them in the back....it should be cool enough to open up and drink one while you're toting daughter back and forth or watching her rehearsals...) I get into trouble when I don't have a small snack and I skipped meals to only see a fast food joint on the horizon....so STAY STRONG and think of us hugging you through this hectic time!!! :grouphug:

Toystoryduo...I didn't want to mention the headaches hoping I wouldn't be putting them into your head just in case you didn't have them! But mine were AWFUL the first 3 days...after the 3rd day they were GONE!!! And they'd usually be bad on waking up...so reach for a mozzarella stick first thing to get your blood sugar working...but I PROMISE you will feel much better by day 4 and by the end of the week you won't want any carb foods!!! I was a HUGE CARB JUNKIE!!! I had it with EVERY MEAL and usually it represented more than 75% of my meal!!! UGH! So it takes some adjusting to...you can do this!!! And I can't wait to see your first weigh in next week! :)

I managed my two 4 milers this weekend and that blasted rain never stopped...but it did make me shave 12 minutes off the day before!!! Nothing like getting wet and being cold to pick up the pace...I've handled Oprah's boot camp pretty well...but I did miss 2 days ina row of strength training on my arms...I was hoping that folding 9 loads of clothes would count and trimming all my crepe myrtles would work too! Back to cardio pilates and my weights today...had 3 showings yesterday..hoping I'll hear something today!!! :)

Let's get those pounds GONE!!!
180's HERE I COME!!! Oh, and I've GOT TO FIND THAT MEASURING TAPE!!!!
