Hi Everyone!
Hope everyone has a great St. Patty's Day! We have a Dance/Choir competition to attend tonight. This has been a busy week with band recitial, orchestra recitial, track practice starting, and practice for this dance/choir competition.

A week from today is my birthday and a week from tomorrow we leave for our Disney Vacation. We are all getting very excited about our cruise. I plan to EAT all the time! I am sure I will have at least a 5 pound gain by the time I get back, so I will have to get serious about losing once I get back. I am up two pounds this week and it is frustrating because I don't want to be UP before my trip. I have a week to lose it, and I have had two good days, so hopefully I can stay good for the next week and maybe I can lose some before we leave.

Maria: You aren't far from those 160's! It will happen! You could be in the 150s by summer! I know you can do it!

Tara: I wish I had your sunshine! It is cold here! Do you feel that the sunshine and warmer weather helps you stay on a good eating program. I am just thinking that maybe I will feel more motivated once it is warm and sunny outside.

Jen: Is this the end of your grading period? My girls have had so many tests and projects due this week. I am so ready for school to be out (and we have another 9 weeks!). Today ends the third nine weeks, so we are heading into the home stretch.

Hope everyone has a great day!
Debra

We are now entering the fourth nine weeks (:( I will miss school)and-

Cinderella is over!

The play went terrifically! Each night we all did our best and I was so proud. Opening night was Friday and I haven't been able to get on much because of Tech Week! It makes me sad though because a great thing is over. The cast party is tonight!!! :cool1:

Eating has been not very good...somewhere along the lines of "too much snacking, not enough portion control". We had dinner every night for cast supper for Tech Week. The first night we had tacos (I put lots of veggies on mine). The second night we had french toast, sausage, potatoes, and breakfast casserole and I only had 2 pieces of french toast. The third night was my favorite. We had grilled chicken, baked potatoes, corn, salad and cheesecake! It was delish.

B: french toast (???)
L: McDonald's Chicken Caeser Salad with the Dressing

I start my ice cream job tomorrow! :-D

Cheerleading tryouts are coming up soon!!!!! I am SO excited. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I'm going for both basketball and football this year.

Morning!!

Just got back from seeing the MOUSE!!! :thumbsup2 Weather - hmmmmmmmmm 80 degrees and no humidity!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Loved going by myself.....did what I wanted when I wanted.....what a change for me :goodvibes

Took it easy and enjoyed Disney the non-traditional way. Went on exactly one ride (yes, you read that right)........Figment with my DD21 (who arrived in disney at the end of the trip and we had dinner together at Canada yummy)

This vacation was to recharge the batteries and I think it worked......will see how long it lasts:):)

Food intake was good - water wasn't.....got my exercise but have not stepped on the scale......TOM comes next week so this is the week when my inner demons want to feast!!!

Hope everyone has had a losing time.

Have a Magical Disney Day
Linda

Maria!! I've got the Monday spring into action attitude!!! Let's make this a start to some new numbers!! I'm feeling it how bout you????

Kathy!!! Did you and Linda cross paths? How is Disney?

Debra!!! SHARE with us how you're celebrating this birthday!!! Are you just thrilled to be at the number you're at after last year's hard work??? YOU DESERVE a GREAT celebration!! And Disney sure helps! :)

Jen!! I wish we could see shots of you at Cinderella in costume! I bet it was wonderful! What a GREAT experience to have in your high school years!!!

Linda!! WELCOME BACK!!! Now we're all dying to see you CRASH into the 160's!!! Help us all get back with some Disney cheer and sunshine bringing in spring! :)

Folks...spring is time to Spring into action and LOSE weight to get in shape for a BUSY aCTIVE summer!!! I'm ready are you????

Let's kick it!
Tara

Linda: Sounds like a great trip and the weather sounds wonderful! I hope it stays that way for next week. I can NOT believe we are suppose to get a big snow storm here tonight! This is insane!

Tara: Mondays are always good for a new start! I am back 'on program' for the next 4 days and then I plan to really blow it starting on my birthday. We are going to Olive Garden (my favorite). I am still up a couple of pounds, but I am hoping that if I stay at 1200 calories every day this week until Friday I won't do too much damage and then when I get back it is time to get rid of the extra weight.

Jen: Sounds like you are busy as always. My girls are so excited to be starting their last 9 weeks. They want summer to come. We belong to a pool club and they hang out there all summer with their friends, so they are ready for school to be over.

Hope everyone is doing well. I am SO STRESSED this week trying to remember everything I need to remember to have us ready for our trip this weekend.

Linda, I bet it is so much more relaxing only having to worry about yourself and not have to think of what to pack for 4 people and try to plan around everyone's wants and desires. Actually, if it were just DH and I it would be just as relaxing, it's the kids that add the extra stress.....but they are worth it! :goodvibes

A week from today we are in Nassau! I can't believe it!

Well have a great week everyone!
Debra

Hi Everyone,

Well I hope now that Spring is here we can add some of it in our steps and get the scale moving in the downward motion. I just wish it felt like spring. Today, a place called Rita's gave away free water ice. Basically this is a kind of Italian ice. It was awfully good but OH so cold outside, so we were all packed in the car, heater on 90, my seat heater on, eating our Rita's.

I am trying soooo hard to stick to good eating, I'm trying the Lean Cuisine, WW meal routine. I haven't been to the gym since Thursday, where I personal trained and did the TM, but DH is back, so that means, gotta get the junker running so it has time to warm up, therefore I'm forced to get up and get to the gym. So off to the gym for me in the morning.

Well, I don't know if DH is going to be going to Fl in October, but I am. A friend of mine and I are going the 12th, 13th, and 14th to get some time in a F&W fest. YAY. Just the girls.

I'm looking into homeschooling my kids. I'm torn, becasue I want the kids to be social, but I'm having a hard time with the way the kids are treated. They go to a prochocial school, and it seems more like when I was in basic training. There is no allowances for the fact that they are kids. I have to decide soon, Testing for kindergarten is going on in May, so I would like to make a decision by then.

Well it's bedtime so I have to get the kids going. I'll see you tomorrow

I know this thread started a long time ago but can I still join?? I would love to do aprils excersise challenge. I had lost 30 pounds but gained back 5, I would love to be part of a support group!

WELCOME TEXAS THREE!!!

Anytime, anyone is a GOOD THING around here! 150's is our goal and we're committed to helping anyone get there no matter how long it takes! :) Come on in and share how we can help you! Hope the snow missed you this week...Spring is REALLY on it's way! :)

Tracy...on the homeschooling feel free to email me off-dis if I can help...there are several homeschoolers on WISH that might could help too..there's even a homeschooling thread on the community page I think. I've done it for 5 years and I can tell you the socialization issue is a non-issue. Especially with 6 children..you've got built in socialization! :) An advantage of homeschooling is enabling your children to be children and still participate in extracurricular events. Mine have done piano, gymnastics, football, Awana, science clubs, chess clubs, robotics camp, field trips, and families pool together...I teach Latin for 5 families, one mom teaches science lab, we get together and hire an art instructor for lessons or a mom volunteers...you start finding your niches and then you have to scale back on the socialization to make sure you're getting your coursework done! :) I love the flexibility of being able to take every perfect 70 degree day and hit the nature reserve or hike around Green Mountain...and of course traveling when the rates are better and you don't have to deal with crowds! :) But it is a commitment...read as much as you can before diving in to give you that confidence. Debra Bell's Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling is a good start.

If I committed half of what I do to homeschooling to losing weight I'd have hit the 150's long ago! :) How about letting SPRING push us forward gang! :) I'm feeling it! :)

Tracy,
The "social" thing is only a problem for families that don't want their children to socialize with other kids. It is a myth that homeschooled kids don't know how to socialize. Just look for groups to join and get your kids involved in things with other kids (like dance, theater, sports, etc.)

If you have any questions about homeschooling, I would be happy to try to answer them.

There is a lot of information out on the web about it and your library should have some books and/or magazines on homeschooling. Those should help.

Hi! I'm new here but I wanted to join too. I was 170 back in December. I broke into the 150's (158!!) as of Monday but it's not been very easy. Especially when everyday at work we have ice cream cake, or someone brings in brownies, or we have a huge breakfast potluck thing. I'm hoping to be in the lower 150's in April but I'm just glad I'm making progress. The best thing I have done is portion sizes. Everytime I get a bag of soy chips or whole grain goldfish crackers I portion out how many servings are in that bag to Ziploc bags. It makes it more convenient when I just want to grab something and I get the actual 6 servings out of a bag of goldfish crackers instead of the three I would probably get from eating straight out of the bag. And I can't wait for it to get warmer because the gym 5 days a week is really getting on my nerves!

HAPPY BEAUTIFUL WARM SPRING DAY EVERYONE!! (yeah right...)

Kim

Hi!

Last night I did 45 min on the TM, which felt pretty good. Instead of my usual movie I got the 1st five episodes of Grey's Anatomy, and watched the first one. I started watching recently, and decided I would go back and catch up. I really like it, so that helps the time fly by.

Tonight I'm hoping for a few minutes on the bike. I'm going to be quite late getting home from work, so we'll see. My eating has been all over the map. I seem to be so hungry at night...I need to experiment with eating more earlier in the day. Maybe I wouldn't be so hungry if I did.

NeverlandClub & Texas3 -- :welcome: This is a great place to get encouragement!

Linda -- I hope you are settling back in, and getting ready to take the TM to a new level. I'll do it if you'll be my buddy! :goodvibes

Debra -- You also bring up a good point for Tracy. It might be that she wants to home school while they are younger, then send them out when they are a little older like your girls. It wouldn't be a lifetime commitment, just for as long as it works for her. Are you ready for your trip?! :sunny:

Tara -- If I put the effort into losing weight that I do into pretty much every other area of my life, I would be a different woman. What a concept. I'm going to have to think about that. I think there could be some powerful motivation in there. :cheer2:

Tracy -- Your October trip sounds great! Kudos for working on the eating. I think that's one of the hardest parts! :wave2:

Jen -- It sounds like you had a total blast! We'd love to see a photo! :flower1:

Dona -- How are you doing? Getting back in the swing of things? :p

Michelle -- Hope you are feeling better, and enjoying a little sunshine, if not warmth. :thumbsup2

Everybody have a fantastic evening!
Maria

Good morning from WDW. Lynne is out swimming and we have no idea what the plan for the day is. Today is the first day the kids have to work.

We spent yesterday at SeaWorld and the weather was great. It was a little windy which made the 90 temp bearable.

We are leaving eraly Friday AM to drive to HHI, then home on Sat. Probable should get moving.

Will catch up later.

Have a great day

Debra!!! I'm going to go ahead and wish you a happy birthday...the next few days I'll probably be so under like thunder that I'll forget it! So baby here ya go!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bday: pixiedust: :rockband: Can't wait to hear how the beautiful waters are on your trip the next day!!!

Linda...fugghetaboudit...here's some SUN :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: I am sending 50 degrees to you and I promise in 2 more weeks you'll see the 60's! So get those walking shoes ready! :)

Kim!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Wow you're a 150's gal!!! You don't have to hit 150 to be an achiever here...any number is a 150's club gang! :) So let us help you get down to that 150 number nevertheless and you tell us more on how you got from 170-158 since January! That is AWESOME!!! Several on here are hung at the 170's and could use the inspiration I bet! What a beautiful gal you are and I bet you're feeling better at 158 for sure! :)

I'm doing it gang...managed a decent day yesterday but still not a stellar losing day...but stuck to strawberries for snacks and had one slimfast with wheat thins/leftover onion dip for lunch and popcorn and cheeseburger for dinner...not great but could have been worse...today it's good all the way!
I'm feeling it! And the fact that Easter will be here before you know it and the beach the next week means I've got to get with it! :)

On to losing ways!
Tara

Kathy!!! THANKS for writing in from Disney! But I'm raising an eyebrow that you brought your work with you! :) Hopefully you just brought it to say HI to us and make us feel that Orlando sun with you! :) Now, go roll through the parks and ENJOY all those flowers and views! :)

Can't wait to have you back!
Tara

Tara - I did not bring work or my computer. Lynne brought her computer with her to update stuff for beginner triathlon.

The weather is great. Still haven't decided what to do today.

Have a great day.

Hi everyone. Welcome to the new people.

I am doing fine. My sinuses are almost clear and I am back to working out. I did 45 minutes on the treadmill yesterday when I came home from school (2.38 miles:cheer2: :cheer2: ). I did 30 minutes on my bike this morning and 20 minutes of weights for my arms. As of last week I am still stuck at 200 but I am really starting to watch what I eat again and working out everyday and maybe someday soon I will be in onederland. I am checking my weight on Friday morning. That will give me 5 full days of watching what I have been eating. I have been writing it all down.

Jen I bet you are sad and glad that the show is over. We have one more performance of EVITA. I have to help move costumes tonight to the local college where a benefit in their small theater is planed as a fund raiser. I will not be going to the fundraiser. I could think of better ways to spend $75. Beside I didn't know what day it was and I made a date with some girlfriends to go into NY to Menopause the Musical. I know we are having lunch at a mexican place but I think my friend wants to spend more time in the city after. I can only handle eating out once a day. If I have to do it twice I know I am in trouble.

Kathy thanks for writing from Disney. It was 32 this morning in NJ with wind chills of 23. High today of 40 and it won't be until next week when we will seee temps in the 50's. I can't wait. Maybe then I can even walk outside.

I am thinking about doing a 3 mile charity run/walk in APril and a 4 mile charity run/walk in May

Debra :bday: :bday: party: party: Enjoy your week in Nassau. I wish I could go. No vacation plans for me at all except to go to Fordham in Manhattan to take a class.
At least I am getting rid of my husband fore 3 weeks and my younger son for 3 weeks. (THey leave on June 30 (my younger son's 16th birthday ) to go to Philomont the Boy Scout camp in NEw Mexico.) All our vacation money is going there. We may also lose our older son in Sept. when he goes back to a full time college (Long story behinmd that but in May he will be getting his Associates Degree)

Have to go. Will check in soon

Tara- thanks for the compliments and thanks to everyone for the warm welcome! Today has been so hard because I swear the Oreo's in the vending machine have been screaming my name all day. And the chips. And the microwave popcorn people keep making. It should be illegal to make microwave popcorn at work. I'll have to see if I can get that put into the policy ;). I went to the gym last night with my mom and she asked what my goal was on the elliptical machine. It was just to get through it!! It was so hard but I did. My biggest weakpoint is when I visit my boyfriend on the weekends and it is so hard when we go out to eat. I go with all intentions of getting a dinner salad but the hamburgers and pastas scream my name (I've noticed since starting this "lifestyle change" that all food screams-well, the good stuff anyways). We're going to Red Lobster Friday night and I'm thinking of getting fish and veggies but those cheddar cheese biscuits are sooooo good. Good luck everyone and keep up the good work!! Thanks for all of the advice I read on here. It's very motivating.

Back to work....and an afternoon of smelling more popcorn...

Evening!! :cool1:

I got on the scale today and UGH UGH UGH Back up to 176 :guilty: :faint:

Wake up call for me!!! Back to weight watchers and counting points or at least keep track of portions.....which has always been a problem for me.

I NEED to get rid of the poundage and the scale keeps me in check...........so here I go back on the weight loss treadmill.........KEEP Moving and Losing!!

Neverclub - Look how far you have come and how far you want to go............don't give into the screaming in your head :rotfl: Put in the ear plugs and eat the fish and veggies..........yummmmmmm You can do this...... :teeth:

Donac - So glad you are feeling better :goodvibes We are done with CATS and jumping right into the spring play. DD18 has a role and just brought home the rehearsal schedule......she will come up for air sometime around the beginning of May ;) Keep watching the portions and the scale will start moving. If you commit then so will I!!

Kathy - OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Sound wonderful in WDW.......want to go back NOW.......how is the foot doing? Are you able to get around? How does your daughter like the college program? Where does she work?

Maria, Debra, Jen, Kim - How are you doing? Moving and Losing I hope :woohoo:

Off to chew on my knuckles because I am STARVING but will not break down and eat...........

Have a Magical Disney Day
Linda

Linda,
I am expecting a SHOCKING number on the scales when I return from my Disney trip next weekend. I will be right back there on program with you when I get back. I am having trouble doing 'good' with my food right now because I know that I am about to go on the cruise and I have a million things on my mind trying to make sure everyone is ready to go.

ACTUALLY I had a weird/strange thing happen this morning as I was packing. I have this odd ritual of wearing this huge Winnie the Pooh Sleep T-Shirt when we go on our Disney Vacations. I never wear it except for vacation so I haven't had it out since last summer. Well in addition to the T-shirt I wear stretchy shorts under it. They have a draw string but even with it pulled as tight as I can pull it they were TOO BIG! The T-shirt is also too big, but I figure it won't fall off and the girls really want me to wear it (they remember it from all of our trips, and like I said, it is a silly tradition that I have started and it has been on every one of our Disney vacations). So this morning I did go out and buy new stretchy shorts to wear under it.

I just can't believe how big those shorts were on me! And on our last Disney Vacation (June 2005) they were fine!

I was thinking that by the time I get back next week I may be back in those big shorts! I do play to eat whatever I want while on vacation.

Anyway, Linda, I totally understand and I will be right there with you in a week, but we will get back on track! :cheer2:

Tara: Thanks for the Birthday Wishes. Tomorrow is my birthday, and we are going to Olive Garden for dinner. I'm not getting a cake because I don't want anything like that around the house. I told the Disney Cruise people that I was celebrating my birthday the first night of our cruise so I will get a cake then.

Have a great day everyone!
Debra
