Hi Everyone!
Another restless night, but I am taking Debra's advice. It sounds so simple, but I haven't planned all my meals in ages. I think this could be the trick to getting me back on track! I'm not good with calories, but I know the points system. I can have up to 22 points. So, today I am having:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with raisins (4 points)
Lunch:Chicken soup w/rice & Ritz 100 calorie bag (6 points)
Afternoon Snack: cheese (2 points)
Dinner:Cream of Potato Soup w/yogurt for dessert (7 points)
Evening Snack: Lindt Ball (2 points)
I found Yoplait now has yogurt whips in chocolate flavors. I got chocolate cherry and chocolate raspberry to try. They're only 3 points, so that could be a good source of calcium if they are yummy. It feels so good to write that down! So, here's another new resolution -- When I come here each morning, I will write down my eating plan for the day.
Since everyone is sick, we are sadly lacking in the fruits and vegetables department right now. I'm hoping to do a good grocery run this weekend. My problem is the Sudafed I am taking (doctor-recommended) is making me so jittery, I can't rest or concentrate. I'm going to have to see if there's a night-time version available that might knock me out. One good point about a cold, all I want to do is drink plain water. I'm getting lots of fluids! It's going to be interesting to see what the scale says after TOM is over. Between that and the cold, I just may lose enough to be a good jumpstart.
Oh! And I had a moment of strength yesterday! I had bought bags of candy corn, indian corn and mellowcreme pumpkins, and I gave them all away! My ds and dh won't eat them, so they were all going to wind up on my thighs. Not anymore!
Tara -- I can't feel sorry for myself with all you are taking on while you don't feel well! You are truly a trooper! I really hope you have a very speedy recovery. My doctor told me to load up on Sudafed before I fly with a cold, so perhaps that could help your husband. I really hope your friends are doing better. It is so hard to watch others struggle in their marriage. My best friend is going through a really hard time, and I have run out of advice to give her. She just doesn't want to hear it. She also doesn't want to accept that she is in any way to blame for their problems. Now, I wouldn't say it's 50/50, but how can you have a marital problem without both people being somewhat at fault? Marriage is between two people (yes, even in this blue state {giggles}), so both have to bear some responsibility. Just announcing it is his problem is no way to fix your marriage!
Debra -- I had 7 years of flute and 3 of piccolo, which I played during marching band. I started playing in 4th Grade. We had to try out to be in the various bands, so you had to already know how to play before you came in. I was not a very talented musician, but I loved being in marching band. It's such a great feeling of comraderie, and you do have opportunities and friends that you otherwise would not meet. Marching band is a great experience, and I wish your dd the best! Tara had fantastic advice, she obviously is a talented musician!
Jean -- It sounds like you are very busy! I'm so glad you weren't affected by the flooding. We see it on the news and it is hard to believe...I think more so than NO, because NH is certainly not below sea level!
Jen -- I love hearing about all your activities. It brings back great memories! It sounds like you are doing well with your choices. Keep it up! TOM is vicious, but we are just going to look him in the eye and keep going!
Kathy -- I am really enjoying your trip report. I can tell you had a wonderful time, without work!
Linda -- O.k., you are going to make me go get on the treadmill. If you can do it, so can I. I just need to start small again. I have these grandiose ideas of what I have to accomplish, and think if I don't do it I'm wasting my time. I forget that I have to work up lengthy or hard workouts, and any time on the treadmill is better than sitting! I'm still working on not eating after 8, and mostly succeeding!
Steph -- We don't have any Sonics around here, but I get their commercials on cable. Everything looks delicious...
Renee-- So great to have you back! And you are really getting to the 150s! I seem to start over every two days, so I wouldn't worry about it...I'm doing little things and I know that if I keep doing that, eventually it will all come together.
To everyone else -- Let's have a losing day! I have my plan, what is yours?!
Maria
