12 Days of Disney = 1 Happy Family! June 2011 TR (Update x2 7/19)

good luck with school...the report is going great.....you should get exta credit in you english class for this.....not many teenagers can hold this amount of people attention...you are a gifted writer...

Thank you so much! If we have to write about our summer or a trip, I'm going to turn this in to her! Thank you!

I was a little behind so....

Red bean ice cream....not sure about that but I'm from South Louisiana so when I think red beans, I'm thinking creamy beans, smoke sausage and rice. I'm having a hard time imagining that flavor cold.

Circle of Life - I might have to add that to my to do list because we've never seen it. I know its not a must do but I'd hate for it to go away and I would have never seen it.

DisMeet - Sooooo coool!!! I tried to meet up with some Disers a couple years ago but it didn't work out. :( We couldn't find each other. :confused3 It was dark and at a party. I'm so glad you guys met in person. :goodvibes

I was kind of worried about the red bean ice cream too, but it tasted just like strawberry ice cream! It was so yummy!

The Circle of Life movie isn't horrible, it's just not great. If you are hanging out in the Land or just want to be in the air conditioning, it's a good choice.

Yes! Our DIS Meet was fun! That stinks that your DIS Meet didn't work out! Just an excuse to go back again! I'm glad we met in person too!

I hope you and your sisters had a great first day! We still have a week of summer vacation to go!

Lucky you! All of our first days went great I would say!

Back to school already?? I never went back until after Labor Day. Then again we didn't get out until late June. I'm assuming you get out earlier than that.

Homework on the first day??

Yeah...back to school...:sad2: We always go back at the end of August, but then we are done the first week of June I think. I know! Homework should be reserved for the second or even third week of school!

Just read your TR and am loving it!

You and your sisters are so adorable! And you're such a great big sister!

How fun to have a Dis meet! Glad it went well!

I have to say it's so awesome that you guys get to go back again so soon! I'm really trying to convince DH to go back, but our finances are a bit limited. Plus our DD is only 19 months, guess we should wait until she's a little older

Can't wait to read more!

Thank you for joining in!

They are rather cute! And thank you! I try to be a good big sister!

Our DIS Meet was really fun!

I think it's pretty awesome too! You have to take your DD when she's 3 or 4! That's how old Thing3 was last time we went and everything was so exciting for her!

Sounds like some great teachers...:rotfl: Sorry had to write that from a teachers point of view! I think you should give your English teacher a link to your TR and show her you have been writing all summer...that should be a lot of extra credit!

:rotfl:

I think I will give her the link on Monday and see what she says!

When I last left off (a while ago!), Dad and I were on our way back from my very first DIS Meet! After buying a bottle of water, we walked to the monorail station. Before too long, a monorail came to take us to the TTC. From there, we transferred to the EPCOT monorail. When we arrived, we got to make the long trek back to the UK to meet up with everyone else. Since I’m not exactly sure what the others did while we were gone, I’ll just post the pictures:

Thing2, Thing3 and K were coloring when we arrived. Mom was sitting and watching them and I believe Aunt C and Uncle R were watching the show that happens in the “street”. I don’t exactly remember how this happened, but somehow it was decided that I would take the girls (my sisters and K) to Future World for the evening and the adults would hang out in World Showcase because Uncle R and Aunt C had an ADR at Via Napoli. My parents wanted to tour World Showcase with them and then meet up with them again when they were finished eating. Camera bag, Key to the World with CS dining credits on it and 3 little girls in tow, we made our way to Future World. First place we stopped? Why Figment of course! I took this picture of us before the ride started.

We had a great time singing along to the music! And there was a nice man (probably my parent’s age) in front of us (we were in the back row) that was so worried that Thing3 wouldn’t be able to see. We assured him that she could see, but he was very thoughtful. Based on my pictures, we then went to Club Cool! I didn’t really care for any of the flavors, but I’m not a big fan of soda. Thing2 was no fun and already knew about Beverly and warned K about it. My only hope was Thing3. I got her a cup of it and asked her to drink it. I think she knew something was up because I had the camera ready. Here are the shots I got of her trying it:

After we finished at Club Cool, we decided to head over to Innoventions West (at least I think it was west!). The first thing we saw when we walked in was the “Star in your own Video Game” thing (probably not actually what it’s called). I partnered up with Thing3 and K and Thing2 were together. Basically you stood in a little area and had to run (in place), jump and then do a victory dance. Once you were done, you were directed to a booth to play your video game. Thing3 let me control us and we won the game! It was such a fun activity for us to do! Here’s a bad picture I took of the video game screen.

After that, we decided to go play “Where’s the Fire?” Originally I was going to be with Thing2 and K would keep an eye on Thing3. I don’t know what happened, but somehow I ended up with Thing3 again. We had a lot of fun playing this game too! Our team didn’t win, but we had fun anyway. Around this time, we were getting hungry. What would we do about dinner? Would I manage to find something everyone would agree on? That’s coming up in the next update! Thanks for reading!

Another great idea for our trip...the boys love video games so we will have to go hunt this one down.

I can't wait to take the kids to club cool and give them a Beverly! :lmao:

This update seemed very similar to the kinds of things we do in Epcot. My boys love to color Duffy; my DH always want to go to Club Cool (love the Beverly pictures:laughing:), and I've done the be in your own video game and Where's the Fire more than just once. It's nice of you to take the smaller kids so your parents can have grown up time.

I write to you while the east coast is being slammed with a hurricane. If my power goes out, I will go insane with boredom.

I finally saw your DIS meet picture. Pictures are blocked on my work computer. Cute!! I love DIS meets :)

When we went to Disney World last year, my cousin actually liked Beverly. Bleck.

I just heard the power surge. Uh oh. Better go now!

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I've started reading your TR. I will let you know when I'm all caught up! :goodvibes

Wow- awesome trip report so far! It's great to see another 14 year old on the DISboards! I've just got to catch up on all your posts now! ;)
Your sisters are adorable! :goodvibes

Thank you so much! How old is your DD? And I love the name Leila! Thank you so much! Is Guillherme into "teenager stuff"? I think part of what keeps me (for lack of a better word) "normal" is that I'm not really that into clothes, hair, make-up, etc yet. Wow! 25 days at Christmas!! I would love to go to Disneyland Paris! Want to pack me in your suitcase? Are you writing a PTR? Hopefully Guillherme will love Disneyland Paris!

Hi, Thing 1!! My DD is 11 years old. Yes, Guilherme is toootally into teenager stuff...hair, clothes...when he goes out w/ his friends, everything has to be "perfect" :sad2:. You would be totally welcome, the only problem is that you'll have to come to Brasil first...;). I'm not writing a PTR but maybe if I can gather a little courage I'll do a TR...Yes, I really hope that everybody enjoys our DLP trip :cloud9:

i know i had started your TR on another day; i thought i had commented but i cannot find it. Anyway, i'm really enjoying it. I love how you take care of your sisters. I was thinking of my children being incredibles for Halloween too, but haven't located the costumes yet. Not too many artistic folks in my family, and i dont want to buy the ones from Hong Kong on Ebay. My dd is 6, like thing 3. I recognize a lot of her clothes!

Yes! You have to go make your own video games! I can't wait for your trip to get here so I can see Ab and Boo and Goo doing all these fun things!!

I'm so glad that they colored Duffy while I was gone, because I don't have the patience to sit and watch them color (something we can do at home) when we could be doing something more Disney-ish. Thanks! I try to be nice!

:scared1: Hope everything is okay! I'm guessing you posted something on your PTR about it?

Have you had a DIS Meet before?

Love the Beverly pictures! :lmao:
Don't forget to post them on the Beverly photos thread.

 Thanks! Where's the Beverly photos thread??

So your DD is the same age as Thing2. Hmm...I guess that won't work out then...I don't think my parents want me to randomly fly to Brazil. I hope you do a TR! I would love to go to DLP and haven't seen many TRs!

Love the beverly face! Took her a while haha :rotfl:

Yes it did!

:rotfl: Funny Beverly pictures. I love how it took a little while, then she was like

 Thanks! She has slow reaction times I guess!

Thank you so much! We haven't found any costumes either, so I think we're going to buy red tights/leggings and red shirts...not sure about the black accents and logo yet, but hopefully we'll get it all figured out! Do you shop at Gymboree (don't know if I spelled that right...)? My mom loves buying Thing3 clothes there!

Yikes! Sorry it’s been so long without an update! School has been busy! After this the next update will probably be either Sunday evening or Monday evening…going out of town for 2 nights and then Monday is our 3rd annual bike ride. 15 miles with our friends from church, with a stop in one of the towns for lunch. Should be a great time! Anyway…back to Florida!
When I last left off, I was with the girls trying to figure out dinner and my parents and Aunt C and Uncle R were somewhere in World Showcase doing who knows what. K really wanted to go to the Mexico CS place (name has slipped my mind at the moment), but Thing2 wasn’t sure about Mexican food. We walked over to Electric Umbrella to see if we could get something to-go for her. We got there and looked at the menu, but Thing2 decided that she wasn’t really hungry. After that little detour, we trekked off to Mexico in search of some dinner. K ordered nachos with churros for dessert. My sisters and I weren’t terribly hungry, so we all shared the cheese empanadas. Those things are so good! One order came with 3 empanadas, which was perfect. I believe it also came with chips and then we got churros for dessert as well. My sisters and I finished our meal and I believe K shared some of her nachos with me. After that, we were going to go see how the line for Test Track was. It was about an hour I believe, so we passed on that. I’m not sure how this happened, but somehow we walked into an area that was roped off….we didn’t jump over any ropes or anything….not too sure what happened there. Luckily there was a CM to let us out. Somehow we came to the consensus that we would go ride Spaceship Earth. I sat next to Thing3 and then Thing2 and K sat by each other. The girls walked around the exit area looking at the games, but I don’t think they played any. Why? Because I got a text from Dad asking if we wanted to meet up and use the Soarin’ fastpasses. Of course! We hiked over to the land and were soon reunited with the adults. The fastpass line was fairly long, but that was alright because it gave us plenty of time to chat. While we were in line, I found out a secret. Apparently, instead of “eating around the World” as they’d planned, Mom and Dad had joined Uncle R and Aunt C for dinner at Via Napoli! I was very upset with them about this! They knew I wanted to eat there and THEY WENT WITHOUT ME!! Obviously I got over it, but I was pretty upset. I’m not sure who I sat by on the Soarin’, but I know we all had a great time. I’m going to stop there for now…have to refresh my mind on what we did next. Thanks for reading, and sorry for the picture-less update!

I think I would be a little upset too about not getting to eat at Via Napoli. This is one restaurant that Ab has picked out...what is up with you teenage girls? :rotfl:

Sounds like you did a great job taking care of the "little girls" while the adults got to have some fun. I just don't know if I would leave Ab with her 2 brothers at Epcot alone...I think I would :scared1:.

:scared1: Hope everything is okay! I'm guessing you posted something on your PTR about it?

Have you had a DIS Meet before?

:scared1: How can you like Beverly?! That's insane!

My town definitely lucked out compared to others in NJ. We had minimal flooding and didn't lose power, just our cable for a day. There are people here that are STILL without power. It's insane.

Yes, my whole 2009 cruise was one big DIS meet. I sat with 3 girls and their husbands every night at dinner on the Wonder that I met through the cruise thread. Plus we met up at Ohana's one night as well. So much fun! I still keep in touch with them.

I don't know, Beverly is pretty gross to me!

I would've been upset to miss out on Via Napoli too. But I guess the adults just needed a little time to themselves. Stinks they ditched you guys though!!

Hallo there again!
Just caught up on the first few updates, your TR is awesome! It's great to find another Disney lover who's fourteen~ no one else at my school likes it.
It's great that you got into CRT... I really wanted to go there but got outvoted- that's what having two brothers means! ;)
I read you want to go to Disney Land Paris. I'm sure you'd love it- I've been there and I liked it but I preferred WDW. They are politer there than DLP. If you do go, be sure to check out Paris and more of Europe. The UK is only a EuroTunnel ride away! ;) you're so lucky going to Hawaii- it's my dream to go there! Most people in England have never been to the USA at all... Yet alone Hawaii.
So you don't like Space Mountain much? I loved it! I'm guessing Illinois is quite close to Florida... I think? Sorry- I don't know all the states very well. You're lucky living so close... Do you guys make regular trips to Disney? :)

Just read your TR. Sounds like an awesome family trip. I like the youth perspective you bring to the screen. I bet at your age, your mom looked JUST like you. Great pictures btw, they really tell the story well. I also see potential for a good photographer in you.

Just wanted to check in and say hi.
