12 Days of Disney = 1 Happy Family! June 2011 TR (Update x2 7/19)

I think I would be a little upset too about not getting to eat at Via Napoli. This is one restaurant that Ab has picked out...what is up with you teenage girls? :rotfl:

Sounds like you did a great job taking care of the "little girls" while the adults got to have some fun. I just don't know if I would leave Ab with her 2 brothers at Epcot alone...I think I would :scared1:.

We teenage girls love our pizza and pasta! I wasn't sure my parents were going to let me and the girls go off alone, but I guess they felt it was fine since I had my phone and they weren't THAT far away.

My town definitely lucked out compared to others in NJ. We had minimal flooding and didn't lose power, just our cable for a day. There are people here that are STILL without power. It's insane.

Yes, my whole 2009 cruise was one big DIS meet. I sat with 3 girls and their husbands every night at dinner on the Wonder that I met through the cruise thread. Plus we met up at Ohana's one night as well. So much fun! I still keep in touch with them.

I don't know, Beverly is pretty gross to me!

I would've been upset to miss out on Via Napoli too. But I guess the adults just needed a little time to themselves. Stinks they ditched you guys though!!

So glad your town didn't get too much flooding! That's great that you met so many new friends on your cruise! I hope I meet lots of fun people through the DIS too! I didn't even try Beverly this trip! Eww! I was sad at the time, but looking back on it, it was fun to have some cousin/sister time!

Hallo there again!
Just caught up on the first few updates, your TR is awesome! It's great to find another Disney lover who's fourteen~ no one else at my school likes it.
It's great that you got into CRT... I really wanted to go there but got outvoted- that's what having two brothers means! ;)
I read you want to go to Disney Land Paris. I'm sure you'd love it- I've been there and I liked it but I preferred WDW. They are politer there than DLP. If you do go, be sure to check out Paris and more of Europe. The UK is only a EuroTunnel ride away! ;) you're so lucky going to Hawaii- it's my dream to go there! Most people in England have never been to the USA at all... Yet alone Hawaii.
So you don't like Space Mountain much? I loved it! I'm guessing Illinois is quite close to Florida... I think? Sorry- I don't know all the states very well. You're lucky living so close... Do you guys make regular trips to Disney? :)

Hello! Not many people at my school like Disney either! That stinks that you didn't get to go to CRT! You could come live with us! Then you'd get to do plenty of princess things! My parents want to take us to Europe in a couple years, when Thing3 is a little older. We will have to come to the UK! The Euro Tunnel is like the train, right? Or the subway? Hawaii was so much fun! I hope you get to go there one day! Space Mountain isn't one of my favorites...a little too jerky for me! Illinois is about a 2 hour airplane ride from Florida or a 22 hour drive...not that far...but then again, not that close! We usually go every 2 or 3 years, because my parents like us to "experience other places".

Just read your TR. Sounds like an awesome family trip. I like the youth perspective you bring to the screen. I bet at your age, your mom looked JUST like you. Great pictures btw, they really tell the story well. I also see potential for a good photographer in you.

Just wanted to check in and say hi.

Thanks for joining in! We had a great time! Photography is something I want to consider in the future! Thanks for stopping by!

Here's the Beverly thread:

My fam is in there. ;)

Thank you so much! I'll have to look for them!

Love the picture of your sister drinking Beverly! Hilarious! :rotfl:

Thanks! :goodvibes

How sweet of you to take the girls and give the adults some 'grown up time'! If we ever end up a WDW together, I will hire you to do the same for me!! :goodvibes

My daughter is surrounded by brothers and we took her to CRT. The boys werent given a choice! :lmao:
I love your TR!

Thank you! That would be great! I really enjoyed just having the kids with me! And I really hope we'll get to meet up one day!

:rotfl: I have a feeling if we had a brother we'd still go to CRT! Thank you so much!

I feel horrible! I haven't updated here in forever!! School really does take up a lot of time! But I'm so sorry that there hasn't been an update in a while! But back to Florida...

When I last left off, I believe that we had all just gotten off Soarin'. After that, Thing2, K and I wanted to go ride Test Track. However, we saw the wait time board and the wait was around an hour. We decided against it and all of us went for another ride on Spaceship Earth. Thing2 and K sat together, Dad and Thing3 sat together, Aunt C and Uncle R sat together and Mom and I sat together. It was fun, as usual, and Mom let me do the quiz at the end. It wasn't too late, but we were already getting tired from our busy day. Since we had a long day ahead of us (MK all day!) we decided to head back to the resorts. We all walked to the exit together and caught our respective buses. Once we were back at POR, Mom took the girls to Riverside Mill to get a snack while Dad and I went into the gift shop (can't remember the name). I was on a search for a baseball hat to wear for the remainder of the trip and I believe he was picking up Thing2's birthday presents they had bought at DTD the other day. I quickly found the hat I wanted, a plain white hat with a pink Minnie Mouse on the front corner. I'll have to try and find a picture of it....We walked back to the room and before we knew it, we were in bed, sound asleep. Sorry that was such a short update! And with no pictures! I'll try to post the next update later tonight or tomorrow! Thanks for reading!

glad you updated...I figured school was keeping you busy! Hope your school year has started off well! I can't believe that Ab already is done with 1 6 week grading period! Time is flying! I am going to try to post some pictures of her tonight at homecoming this past weekend cheering...

School is keeping me busy! Our midterm was today too! Can't wait to see the pictures! :thumbsup2

Happy to see an update from you! :) How is school going?

Thank you! School is going pretty well! Only 1 bad teacher, so I guess that isn't too bad! Just wish I had more time to get on here! Between homework, spending time with the family and other various school activities, there's not much time, but I'm going to try to be better about working it in more often! :)

You're lucky having sisters who like princesses. :cloud9: It's great also seeing a 14 year old on here... ;) I guess I can relate to you, and your holiday! Europe is great! France, Italy, Belgium... they're all beautiful. The Euro Tunnel is like a train that goes to the bottom of the sea. Lol. From the coast of France to England.
You're lucky being in America! You're near WDW... California..... Hawaii. :lovestruc Illinois is hot, right? If you ever go to England, beware... the weather is awful. Literally all. year. round. :rotfl: I can't believe you can last 2 or 3 years without WDW... I'm going crazy and it's only been a month! :lmao:
Great update, btw. Soarin' is wonderful! And Test Track is one of our favourites too. Glad you got the hat you wanted! Can't wait to see it! :goodvibes

Good to see you back! It's amazing how crazy life is when school is back in session. I can't beleive it's almost October, we are so busy, time is flying by!

I promised another update soon, so here it is!!

Last night, I mentioned wanted to get up early to see the MK opening show. No one else was interested, but Dad said that he would go with me so the others could sleep in. Morning came too quickly, and when Dad asked me if I wanted to get up and go I answered with, "Just let me sleep a few more minutes..."

I'm not sure how long I slept after that, but pretty soon I got up, got dressed and we were out the door. We caught the bus quickly, but I believe we had to stand. We were cutting it very close on time to get there in time for the show. As soon as we were off the bus, Dad and I started running towards the entrance. Luckily, we got there in time to see it! It's amazing! Probably one of my favorite things at Disney! I don't know how I've missed it all these years!! Here are the pictures Dad took while I was exclaiming over everything:

After that, Dad asked if I wanted to go back to the room. I didn't want to do that after I'd gotten up early for that, but Dad felt bad leaving Mom to get the girls ready. I guess he decided we could stay, because that's what we did. Dad let me decide what to do, and I chose Splash Mountain! It was a walk-on and amazing as usual. We sat in the last row, behind a couple that reminded us of my Grandma and Grandpa. They were fun to ride with and we talked to them a little bit. They go to Disney frequently and their favorite ride is Splash Mountain. We weren't going to ride again, but when we saw our "friends" getting back in line, we decided to join them again, though we were on different logs this time. We got off and decided to hop back on for one more ride before it got too crowded. Dad didn't really want to do too much without Mom and the girls, so we found a bench in Adventureland, across from Aloha Isle to sit in the shade. I got antsy after a while, so we decided to go to City Hall to get me an "I'm Celebrating" button. As we past Crystal Palace, we saw some photopass photographers taking pictures of each other! It was hilarious! Two of them would pose by flowers and another one would take their picture and then they'd switch! Gave Dad and I a good laugh. Soon we arrived at City Hall. The man giving me the button asked what I was celebrating and I told him graduation (8th grade). He wrote that on the button and then wrote 2011 in the balloons. Walking back down Main Street, we saw a lady with an "I'm Celebrating" button. What was she celebrating? Pudding. Yup, that's what her button said. Dad and I cracked up again, at the thought of someone celebrating pudding. But if it makes her happy, then that's great. I'm going to stop there for tonight. Thanks for reading!!

I've never seen the opening show at MK. That's a must for my next trip, if I can get DBf out of bed in time for it.

I love Splash. One of my favorites! :)

I love all of your opening show picture! I love the opening show too! I can't help but smile when I see it. How awesome is it that you rode Splash Mountain 3 times in a row! Gotta love rope drops!

I  your pictures of the opening show! There is something just so magicial about it...brings a tear of happiness!

Yeah for getting to ride Splash that many times!

We absolutly love the rode drop show for MK. Since MK is our first park on our first full day its a must see and a great way to start your park touring for the week!!

You are a girl after my own heart...splash mountain 3 times!!! And I could definitely celebrate pudding! On my next trip I am DEFINITELY having us all pick random things to celebrate. I wonder if Sophie will be "too cool" to do that by then. I'm sure I'll be all kinds of embarrassing to her!!! :confused3:rotfl2: Maybe my button will say, "celebrating my tween daughter" muah ha ha!

I really wanted to see the opening show! We were in the park one day for Pirate's league and heard it, but didn't see it. Next time!!!

I am SO craving Disney right now. 3 years is TOOOOOOO long! Dh said that if I got a summer job we could buy into DVC this year. We wouldn't be able to go next summer as we are taking an extended trip to see relatives in Massachusetts, but we could save the points! Let me tell you...this is SO TEMPTING. But I don't know if I am willing to part with these few precious years I have with the kids. I really am sad not to be a stay at home mom so summers are my small taste of that. Plus, I would have no one to drive the kids to and from sports.

I just read this from the beginning!

I love your report! Your pictures are great and you have a great attention for detail!

Thank you so much for sharing, I can't wait for the rest!

Thank you! That was the first time I remember seeing it and it was amazing! A must do for every trip now! And yes, rope drops are amazing!

Thank you! Those pictures make me feel happy every time I look at them!

We (well, for now just my dad and I) do too! This is the first time I remember seeing it, but it's a must do for every trip from now on!!

Yes, Splash Mountain 3 times was amazing!! My parents were "mean" this trip and only let Thing2 wear her birthday button on her actual birthday, but they let me wear my graduation button all the time (though I didn't). Hopefully Sophie won't be too cool to do that! I think it would be hilarious to pick random things to celebrate!

That's the same thing for us, we've always been in the park or gotten there after opening, so it was a first (that I remember) for us!

I soooooo want to go back right now too! Thing3 and I spent yesterday afternoon (we didn't have school) watching Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime parade on YouTube. We are trying to convince Mom and Dad that we can squeeze in a trip Christmas 2012, but it might not work because of the school calendar. DVC sounds lovely! But I totally get what you mean about being home, my mom feels the same way. Perhaps a trip to the resort in Hilton Head could tide you over until another trip to the real thing? The point rental chart I looked at doesn't look terribly exepensive (but what would I know, I'm a teenage girl!).
