12 Days of Disney = 1 Happy Family! June 2011 TR (Update x2 7/19)

You have no idea how sorry I am for not updating in more than a month!! Some events that kept me away included:

-My 15th birthday

-Being in the Sound Crew for the fall play, "Father of the Bride"

-All that boring, everyday stuff (homework, school, homework...)

-And most recently, Halloween. I promise I'll put a picture up once I upload to my laptop, but for now I'll say, we looked amazing this year. Many people stopped us to comment or take our picture.

We are having a family fun day today, so I can't update now, but I will try my best to update tomorrow! Thank you for reading (if I still have any readers!)

Of course you still have readers! Happy late birthday...that cake looks AMAZING...:rotfl:

I can't wait to see how the costumes came out!

We are doing a movie night tonight...too!

Good to hear from you. Love your cake pic! :goodvibes

If I do say so myself, we were pretty adorable!

When I last left off, so long ago, Dad and I were sitting near Town Hall (or is it City Hall?) waiting for Uncle R, Aunt C and K to arrive. They arrived fairly quickly and we took our time walking down Main Street. We headed for Tomorrowland and decided that we were going to wait in the super long line for Buzz Lightyear. Why we decided to wait when the line was out the door, I’m not sure. Right before we got into the building though, Mom called Dad and they had just arrived. Dad took Uncle R, Aunt C and K’s tickets and went to meet Mom and the girls. I stayed with the others, and while we rode Buzz Lightyear, Dad, Mom and the girls got fastpasses for everyone to ride Space Mountain. I rode with K and she, just like Thing2, creamed me. When we exited, the rest of my family was waiting for us. We decided to go on Carousel of Progress while we waited for our fastpass time. As usual, it was very fun and Thing3 loved singing along. Our fastpass time wasn’t quite there yet, so we went on the Peoplemover while we waited. I believe my sisters, K and I rode in one “car” and the adults rode in another one. By the time we exited, our fastpass time was here! We got a baby-swap pass and then everyone but Dad and Thing3 got in line. We waited probably five minutes and then we were flying through space! We ended up still having the baby-swap pass and a couple fastpasses left. I didn’t really want to go again, Dad didn’t want to go, but Thing2 and K did. The adults went to go order lunch at Pecos Bill’s while Thing2 and K went through the fastpass line again and Thing3 and I waited in the gift shop. While we were waiting, a CM came over and started talking to Thing3, asking her if she was having fun and what she was doing. Thing3 told him that she was having fun and we were waiting for some family to get off the ride. The CM felt bad that Thing3 wasn’t tall enough and just had to wait, so he told us to come with him. He took us into the arcade where there is a roller coaster motion simulator. He used his key to open it up and let Thing3 ride for free while we waited for Thing2 and K. She was so excited and we thanked him many times. After that magical moment, we walked back into the gift shop, right as Thing2 and K were entering from the end of the ride. Together we walked back to Pecos Bill’s where we found our parents. We sat down and had a great meal, I am fairly sure I had a taco salad. Throughout the meal, we were trying to convince Thing3 to try Splash Mountain again (she was scared), but she kept saying no. We begged her for quite a while because there were 8 of us, we would have filled up one whole log perfectly, but she wouldn’t go. Again, Dad stayed with her while the rest of us went on my favorite ride ever!!

Happy 15th Birthday! What a BIG cake! I wish I got cakes like that!

Thank you! I know, I vanished for a little while.

Thank you! What words would you use to describe the costumes?

Thank you! The cake was only that big because our family was over for a party (we call it a family party, as opposed to a friends party). Do you have family parties for your birthday?

When I last left off, we were just getting off Splash Mountain. It was getting really hot out, we decided to head towards Philharmagic to cool off. We had to wait for quite a while it seemed, but it was so nice to cool off in the air conditioning. It was a great show, especially since Donald is in it! After that, Thing2, Thing3, K and I got in line for Dumbo while the adults got some water (I think). Originally, I was going to ride with K and then Thing2 and Thing3 would ride together, but the CM working the ride said that I had to go with Thing3.

Thing3 had a great time controlling the height of our elephant and as usual, it was very fun. Following that, Thing2 wanted to ride Snow White’s Scary Adventures. I didn’t really care to ride, so I volunteered to take K up to Main Street to pin trade. She was on a hunt for a certain Lion King pin (one with Simba, Nala and Kiara), but we didn’t have any luck finding it. We headed back to Fantasyland, where we met up with the rest of the crew and rode It’s a Small World. If I’m remembering correctly, we went to Adventureland after that. We rode Pirates and the Magic Carpets I believe. Before we knew it, it was time for our dinner ADR. Where were we dining tonight? Liberty Tree Tavern. The five of us had been there before and enjoyed it, but the others hadn’t. We had to wait a bit to be seated, but we used the time to go to the bathroom and wash our hands. It was then that we realized that it would be VERY difficult for someone in a wheelchair to use the bathroom there (unless there’s an accessible bathroom I’m unaware of). The stairs to get up to the bathroom are very steep, so it seemed like it’d be difficult for some older people to make it up there. Anyway, we got seated and before we knew it, there was tons of delicious food on our table. I didn’t eat any of the meat or stuffing, so I can’t speak for that, but everything else was yummy. Actually, the mac and cheese was just okay for me, but I absolutely loved the green beans and mashed potatoes! I don’t remember why, but after dinner, we decided to take the train for a loop. My sisters, K and I had a great time waving to everyone we saw. As we were passing over a crowd of people, Thing2 decided it would be a good time to poke her head out the side of the car and shout, “Yoo hoo!”

534.jpg

(You can sort of see my hat in this picture) This caused lots of people to stare up at us and we kept waving. The simple time of riding the train is one of my best memories of the trip. We got off the train at the front of the park and walked over towards Crystal Palace to take a picture by the castle and say good-bye.

535.jpg

It was very sad to say good-bye, as we weren’t sure the next time we’d see them, but it ended up only being 3 weeks until we were both at my grandparent’s house. After they left, we headed back to Frontierland, for a few more rides on BTMRR. If I’m remembering correctly, we rode 3 times that evening. We did a lot of jumping around that evening, because after that, we went to Tomorrowland because Thing3 wanted to drive the cars. The line was short enough, so we agreed.

I wasn’t a very good driver, which is a little scary because I START DRIVER’S ED ON MONDAY!! Sorry for the “yelling” but I’m very excited! Anyway, after that, we decided to quickly get to the bus stop before Wishes ended and things got too crowded. We beat the crowds and soon we arrived back at POR. We all went to bed right away, as we knew we had a long day ahead, Star Wars Weekends (a.k.a. one of the best days ever). Thanks for reading!

Great update! Me and my brother drove those cars in Tomorrowland too. Me and my brother weren't good drivers either... Good luck in Drivers Ed! Is that a class at school? I suppose you are getting close to being able to drive... how long... a year? :rolleyes1

Thank you! I know, I vanished for a little while.

Thank you! The cake was only that big because our family was over for a party (we call it a family party, as opposed to a friends party). Do you have family parties for your birthday?

Who can blame you, school really makes your life busy! :rotfl: Hope you're enjoying it recently!

I would say the costumes were incredible! ;) I'm not surprised people noticed you when you were out! I'm guessing you love Halloween? Lol.

We don't have family parties sadly. Most of my family lives in either Scotland or London... so quite a drive from us! I share a birthday with my brother so we usually share a cake. :sad2: Hope you had a good family party though! That cake is literally the biggest birthday cake I've ever seen! :rotfl: Hope you got some good presents too... after all, that's almost the best bit about a birthday! :goodvibes

Is Thing3 asleep on the Tomorrowland speedway? It looks like she is!

Good luck with Driver's Ed! Driving a car is not hard, I promise you.

BTW, I just realized you look just like my friend Katie. We've been friends since HS and you guys look like you could be sisters! Just thought I'd share lol.

I love the memories you have on the train...the simple things sometimes are the best. How fun it is to wave at random strangers, I am sure you brought some magic to their day!

Drivers Ed...yikes that reminds me soon that Ab will be taking it. Good luck...I am sure that the Speedway in MK has prepared you well! :)

Thank you! Those cars are so hard to drive because of the rail keeping you on track! But I suppose if it wasn't there, then the ride wouldn't be safe at all. Drivers Ed can be taken at school, but I'm taking it outside of school because then I can take other classes and get more credits (you need 22 credits to graduate). If all goes as planned, I should be able to drive in less than 2 weeks!

I am enjoying school a lot! How is school going for you and your brothers?

 Thank you! We do love Halloween, but not as much as some of our neighbors, who decorate their whole front yard with skeletons and ghosts and zombies and stuff. All we do for Halloween is make costumes and carve pumpkins.

That's sad that you don't have family parties. Most of our family lives in Indiana and Ohio (between 5-9 hours away, depending on who we're visiting), so our "family" parties consist of our grandparents and our closest friends from church. I need to find a picture of one of Thing2's birthday cakes! It was even bigger than mine! And yes, I did get some good presents. Actually, I asked my relatives to donate to a charity instead of getting me gifts, but my parents got me a sweatshirt, Disney Monopoly and the 4 Parks, 1 World CD.

Is Thing3 asleep on the Tomorrowland speedway? It looks like she is!

 I just went back and looked, it really does look like she is! Maybe she was just tired? I really don't know! :rotfl:

Thank you! I wasn't nervous until we went go-karting over the summer and I ran my car off the road 3 times!

 I've never really met anyone that looks like me, so that's cool!

I agree, simple things are the best! I hope we spread some magic to people that day!!

When is Ab starting Drivers Ed? I'm sure it has!
