Thank you! We hope our Halloween costumes will be as fun as in the years past! We love Chef Mickey's too! And I love Mickey waffles! Luckily for me, we have a Mickey waffle maker!

Son1...the planner....booked chef mickeys for dinner....should we rethink this and do a breakfast.....

I hope they had fun! I sure did! We've never done Chef Mickey's for dinner. I've heard good things about it though! We typically do a late breakfast and then head to Downtown Disney to shop and back to the pool to swim!

Love your pictures of Chef Mickey's! I really like the picture of the sign for some reason. We have to try that out someday. Looking forward to some DTD pics! :cool1:

Finally caught up reading your TR!

I loved the Rose & Crown last summer when I hate there...the food was good, I too loved the toffee pudding. The view for illuminations was the best part along with our server! She was a college student from the UK whose work visa was about to expire and she was returning home in a few weeks. I had so much fun talking to her...I ended up leaving her a $20 tip for about a $60 bill I loved her so much!

Your lion king babysitting movie night sounds like it was a lot of fun...happy belated anniversary to your parents! I might have to steal some of the names you used for you food!

Please treasure your time with your greats! My children lost my grandmother (their great) this past fall. I am so thankful that they spent a lot of time with her and knew her well and will have lots of great memories! She was a very special lady!

Love the pictures of Chef Mickey's...I decided that is how we are going to start our WDW portion of our trip by eating there for breakfast and meeting Mickey!

We had just finished a really fun breakfast at Chef Mickey’s and were headed to Downtown Disney! Our souvenir money was burning holes in our pockets!! As soon as we arrived, we headed straight towards the store holding my major purchase: Once Upon a Toy!! I had my mind set on filling up my own box of Mr. Potato Head parts! I had wanted to do this since I dressed up as Mrs. Potato Head for Halloween! One of the CMs at the store told us that I could buy the body separate for $2.75. I grabbed a boatload of parts and sat down in the corner of the store trying to make it all fit. After a while of trying to shove pieces into the box, Dad came over to help. In the process, Dad ripped the box. It was just a tiny little rip, but we were worried that they wouldn’t accept the box. When Dad went to pay, the CM was very nice about our little ripped box. I believe she said something like, “A little rip in the box never hurt anyone”. She was one of the nicest CMs we met during our trip! After purchasing my Potato Head, we went to the World of Disney store! Thing3 knew that she wanted to get some pins for her souvenir, so she and I headed there while Thing2, Mom and Dad looked at other stuff. After carefully examining every pin on the racks, Thing3 decided on a Figment pin (big surprise there!) and a box of mystery Star Wars pins. I believe the mystery pins were a Stitch Yoda and Daisy dressed up as Aurra Syng (not sure about spelling). Then Thing3 and I began the daunting task of finding the rest of our family. We eventually found them by the Star Wars stuff (both of my sisters are HUGE Star Wars fans! We probably have more light sabers than some families with all boys!). Mom and Dad made up some excuse about looking at a t-shirt, and went off to buy Thing2’s birthday presents. Meanwhile, Thing2 found her souvenir, a Star Wars t-shirt. It’s the black one that says, “Judge Me by My Size, Do You?” It’s really cute and she loves it! I’m pretty sure Mom and Dad had the gifts sent to the resort gift shop. After purchasing our souvenirs, we took the boat back to POR. I'm not sure when we took this picture, so I'll just throw it in here:

Immediately after getting back to the room, we put on swimsuits and headed to the main pool! We all swam for quite a while and went down the slide a couple times.

Then Thing2, Mom and Dad went back to their chairs and read on their Kindles for quite a while and Thing3 and I kept swimming. Thing3 and I pretty hungry, so we decided to go get a snack. We walked to Riverside Mill and got a bowl of Cookies and Cream ice cream to share. It was sooooo yummy!! Coming up next: My major meltdown of the trip! Sorry for the short update and thanks for reading!!

Can't beat Downtown Disney for souvenir shopping! I have the "Judge Me by My Size" t-shirt too! It's one of my favorites, because all of my friends and family tease me about being so short. "The world is big/but little people turn it around!" (Les Miz, Little People) I'll have to look for those Star Wars mystery pins... Sounds like you guys are still having an awesome time! Keep posting!

I promise I'll go back and respond to everyone's comments, but I just had to share this! I've mentioned before that my Grandma is very crafty! A couple of years ago she made me these flip flops:

Well, I've had those for quite a while, so she decided that she would make me a new pair and I got to choose the ribbons!! See if you can tell what I was going for here:

I love them so much, especially because she made them for me! She taught me how to make them, so if anyone is interested in learning, let me know! I suppose I could even make them and send them to you! Thanks for reading!!

Cute pictures at Chef Mickey's! It looks like a fun breakfast. And I love the flip flops! They remind me of Minnie Mouse! :goodvibes Too bad my feet are too flat to wear flip flops. :headache:

Looking back on it, I wish I had made our ADR a little later so we could watch Illuminations while eating, but there's always next time! We loved talking to our waiter too! Too funny about the tip!! Our movie night was a lot of fun! Steal away (as long as you post pictures )! I'm sorry you lost your grandma. We treasure every minute with them! I'm glad your kids got to know her before she passed! They will always have memories of her! Chef Mickey's will be a great way to start your trip! It's so much fun!!

I know, we love DTD!! We saw the Star Wars mystery pins in the World of Disney and the pin trading store.

Just caught up!

Looks like you're having fun. I just love reading other teen's TRs. :)

Thank you for joining in! Do you have a PTR or TR?

I love all the cute photo ops at DTD.

How is the slide at POR? Is it long?

The slide at POR is fine...it's not long by any means, but it goes a little bit fast. It's certainly not a thrilling slide, but it's decent.

Thank you! Technically I'm not supposed to wear flip-flops too often (I have really high arches in my feet). I'm supposed to wear sneakers with inserts to support my feet, but in the summer my parents give me a break on those. That stinks that you can't wear flip-flops!

Thank you so much for joining in! Thank you! I wish I could long distance baby-sit!! :rotfl: There are so many people with cute kids on the DIS! Thank you, yes my baptism was a very big day for me! To make the flip flops:

1. Buy the flip-flops, ribbon (can't be too thick) and a bottle of "No Fray" (pretty sure that's what it's called)
2. Cut the ribbon into 6 inch long pieces
3. Create a pattern for the ribbon (if you want one)
4. You know how you tie a "criss-cross" in your shoelaces before you tie the bow? You just tie 2 criss-crosses and then that ribbon is secure
5. Repeat until shoes are full of ribbon
6. Spread the "No Fray" stuff on the ends of the ribbon so, well, they don't fray!

Hopefully you understand what I meant...

Those flip flops are cute! Everyone in your family seems very good at arts and crafts!

So, I have to say, you are a FABULOUS writer for being as young as you are... you have such flair for it... you know when *and how* to leave the reader hanging on and you tell everything in such an interesting way.
Also, I like your pictures. Your whole family is cute!
I'm subbing! Loving the read! Can't wait to read more. We are about what? Half way through your trip? Very good stuff!:thumbsup2

When I last left off, Thing3 and I were enjoying a bowl of Cookies N’ Cream ice cream by the pool! Times like that are when I really wish we could stay at Disney for a month! I mean think about it: if we got APs, we could go to the park whenever we wanted, yet still have time to enjoy the resort, something we always say we’ll do, but never end up doing. The only issue I can find with a month at Disney is the cost factor! Anyway, after Thing3 and I finished our ice cream, we went and sat by Mom and Dad and Thing2. This is when I had my major meltdown of the trip, remember, I’m only 14! As you all know, my aunt, uncle and cousin were at Disney too. Well, despite knowing WAY ahead of time what parks they were going to which day, Mom decided she wanted to change all of our days around to match theirs!! I know, this seems really minor, but at the time it felt like a big deal to me! I love my aunt and uncle and cousin, I really do, they just don’t tour the way we do and I didn’t want to change the plans! I just don’t think Mom understood Le Cellier wouldn’t have availability last minute. In the end, Dad went to the lobby to see about switching ADRs. The dining system was down when he went, so Mom and Dad just decided to leave the plan the way it was. I just want you to all know, normally getting angry doesn’t get me my way. The only reason things worked out in my favor was because the ADR system wasn’t working. After we swam a little bit more, we put on our “cover-ups” (do other people call it a cover-up?) and went to Riverside Mill for dinner. Thing3 and I shared pasta again, Thing2 had pasta, I think Mom had a fish basket and I’m not sure about Dad. Once my sisters and I finished eating, Mom gave us the arcade card that came with our package. The three of us wandered over to the arcade. That arcade card horrible!! It was 100 points, but each game was around 30 points!! Skee-ball was only 10 points (I’m pretty sure) so we tried to play that. Every time we stuck in our arcade card, points got deducted, but the game never started. To make matters worse, there was nobody in the arcade to ask to come fix the machine. To add to the situation, Thing3 started crying because she wanted to play a game. I didn’t know what to tell her, so I just took the girls back to the room. Mom and Dad were already back to the room. We all took showers and put on our jammies. I believe we might have played cards for a little while, then we all read and went to bed! Next up: Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios! Thanks for reading!

*Just wanted to let you all know, I'll try and get another update in tomorrow, but then chances are, I won't be able to update until Sunday. Why? 4 of my cousins are coming!! We only see each other at Christmas usually, so I'm super excited!! Wish my dad luck though, 7 girls in the house (not including my mom) ranging in age from 19-6! Should be a great time!

Ooh! Have fun with your cousins!!! Family visits are so special. I'm sorry your mom scared you like that! You are entitled to a meltdown. At 33, I melt down quite often. ;). My kids will assure you of that. I'm also sorry about that game card! We didn't even try ours. We learned our lesson at pizza planet early in our trip. Disney arcades are a rip off. :confused3. When do you start school again?
