12 Days of Disney = 1 Happy Family! June 2011 TR (Update x2 7/19)

I just engulfed myself in your TR on my lunch break, and I can't tell you how impressed I am. Your writing skills are absolutely amazing. I started reading and told myself that I only had 20 minutes to read, and then I had to go clean my car. 50 minutes later, I finished reading your trip report. It's so good! I still can't believe you are 14! There was so much to catch up on, I can't even remember every point that I wanted to touch base on.

The pictures of you and your sisters holding hands while walking into Main Street is adorable. I love that the three of you all did BBB, how cute! BBB wasn't there when I was little, so I keep saying when I have a girl, she and I will do it together one day. (If they let mommies, which I hope they do!)

I love that you did all of the research for your trip with the ADR's and everything else! And I have to say, it is so cool how much you help with your little sisters. I especially enjoyed how you convinced Thing 3 that Tink was not ziplining.

I feel the same way when I ride Space Mountain, and so does the rest of my family. That is a rollarcoaster that I will NEVER put my hands up while riding. I find that I tend to duck my head throughout the ride, but I still love it! I can't believe that woman on Space Mountain, I don't understand why people can't just be happy in Disney World. Who cares if you didn't get the exact seat you wanted, you're in Disney World for crying out loud!

But on a happy note, I have also experienced many nice people on the bus. The past two trips I have taken, my son was 10 months and then 1 1/2. Many times the bus only had room to stand, and I was forced to take him out of his stroller and hold him in my arms. Not once did I have to remain standing. Someone always offered up their seat, and this amazed me each time. I love how nice people can be in Disney World.

I love you TR so far and I can't wait to read more! But I have to go back to work because I am now two minutes over my break. Thank you for taking me back to the world I love so much for an hour of my day. It really brightened the afternoon.

Thank you so much for joining in! Glad my TR is interesting to readers! I too, love the pictures of us walking onto Main Street! Is it weird that I want to print a copy of that one and one of us on Dumbo really big to hang on my wall? They do let mommies do BBB! You should totally do it with your daughter (when you have one). I really love doing the planning, I'm kind of a control freak! My parents sometimes think I'm weird for spending all my time DIS-ing! I agree, I'll never put my arms up on Space Mountain! And yes, the lady should have just sat wherever she was put. You don't see the people in the back row of Soarin' throwing fits because they don't have the best view! That's great that people gave up their seats for you to hold your son! I just don't get it when a man or teen is sitting while an older person, woman or child has to stand. Now I'm not trying to say that women aren't capable of standing, it just seems like common courtesy for a man or teenager to do that. I'm sorry reading my TR pushed your over your break time but I'm so glad I was able to bring a little bit of Disney to your afternoon!

No problem! :flower3:
Yep, I have a PTR, it's in my signature. :goodvibes
Love the Epcot update! The "Lo Siento" part is hilarious. :lmao:

I'll have to check it out! Thank you so much! We had a great time that night!

I just found this TR and am totaly involved.....what a great young lady you are...your writing skills are amazing...your parents must be so proud...I remember going to WDW when my 3 sons were that age...now I will be going with my 3 sons, wifes and our 2 grandchildren....Kaila age 2 1/2 (her 3rd time) and my grandson Jackson 1 1/2....we are so excited..just booked
we havent been since 2000.
your pics are great....great planning on your part....my oldest son (31) is a Disney crazie too....he is planning all our trip....booking our meals ect...cannot wait to go.....sept. cannot come fast enough...
cant wait to read the rest....

Ok... telling us that you are wrapped around your little sister's finger, and that you love her so you did what she wanted.... That officially makes you the best oldest sister ever! How sweet of you!! :lovestruc

Golden dream is SUCH a catchy song. Did you guys get to see Voices of Liberty on this trip? They do an AMAZING version of Golden Dream. We've never seen them do it live, because they have to have a certain number of voices on each part... someday I'm hoping to hear it live. I can only imagine the goosebumps. Sorry.. tangent! Here is a link to a video of them singing Golden Dream... enjoy!

Thank you so much for joining in! I think (hope) my parents are proud of me! You'll have so much fun with your sons/daughter-in-laws and grandchildren! I love their names by the way! I have a feeling I'd get along with your oldest son! Are you going to start a PTR? I'd read it!

Thank you so much! I try my hardest to be a good big sister! Being at Disney usually helps put us all in better moods, which in turn makes it easier to be a great big sister! And having great little sisters helps too! Yes it is a catchy song! We didn't get to see Voices of Liberty this trip! I would love to hear it live too! I love that song! Thank you so much for posting the link! I'm listening to it right now! Do you know if you can buy the 4 Parks, One World CD anywhere besides the parks? I didn't get a copy while we were there, and now I'm wishing I did!

What a great trip report!! You are an awesome big sister!! :)

Thank you so much for joining in! And thank you, I try to be a good big sister!

Sorry your family didn't believe you about the boat. My Mom still doesn't listen to me.:confused3

Good Job on making the last Soarin ride of the day.:thumbsup2 I have never been at a park to close. Maybe I will in September....well I can dream.:rotfl2:

I was a little upset nobody listened to me, but it was a nice walk. I personally like nighttime EMH better than morning EMH. Next trip I'm going to try and schedule more late nights than early mornings.

OK...caught up to here...

You all look like you are having a great time!

I have tried to convince Skye it would be great to be the first female tumble monkey when she grows up (or at least the first one we have seen) but she wants to be the bird! Ya, she's nutz!

I just noticed you're from Illinois too..

You've got some great plans for future trips there! We'd love to be able to plan again but Skye's dance team travels every other year. This was the off year so next year they are planning Vegas and DISNEYLAND!!! SO that will be our big trip for next year...so hoping for 2013 too. They will be competing in Dianeyland and taking a class with Disney dancers. Should be lots of fun. Plus, I'm the only one who has ever been there and that was about 37 years ago...so it will be a whole new world!

Looking forward to reading along with the rest of your trip to get me through our next 22 days...

Thank you so much for joining in! The bird could be fun too, but I'd love to be a tumble monkey! Skye would be a great tumble monkey! Yes, we are about an hour and a half outside Chicago. Awesome place for day trips! Disneyland and Vegas sounds great! We enjoyed Disneyland, but found it really weird that it was essentially in the middle of a neighborhood! A class with Disney dancers? Skye is one lucky girl!! If we go around the same time, we could have a DIS Meet!!

Thank you both so much!!

First of all, I apologize for not updating in a few days! Summer is supposed to be a relaxing time, but somehow we always end up so busy! As I mentioned before, Wednesday was Mom and Dad’s 20th anniversary! They went into Chicago for dinner with our neighbors. My best friend, C, came over to help me baby-sit, since I was watching Thing2, Thing3 and our neighbors 4 year old twin boys! We decided to do a Lion King themed movie night with them! When they arrived, Thing2 took them to the basement to play in our bounce house. C and I made Scar Salad, Rafiki Ranch dressing, Pumbaa pasta, Timon’s Tasty Sauce and Circle of Life Lemonade! The rest of our evening consisted of walking to the park, playing in the sprinkler, making ice cream sundaes and s’mores and watching “The Lion King”! All in all it was a really fun evening! Friday and Saturday we had a garage sale with friends from church (the people we trick or treat with). Friday afternoon, Thing2 and one of the boys decided our Halloween theme for this year: the Incredibles!! We will have Mrs. Incredible (me), Mr. Incredible (one of the boys), Violet (Thing2), Dash (youngest boy), Jack-Jack (Thing3), either Frozone or Syndrome (other boy) and Edna Mode (my BFF). Can’t wait to get working on costumes! Saturday afternoon, we drove 6 hours to Southern Indiana to be with family for my great grandma’s 93rd birthday and my great great aunt’s 95th birthday. We drove back last night after a fun time with family! Grandma Z is here now, Mom and Dad are going to Rhode Island for a couple of days to celebrate their anniversary, so she is staying with us. Should be a fun week spending time with her! I’ll try to get an update up soon! Thanks for reading along!

Again, sorry for the delay in updates! We actually slept in a bit this morning! We had an ADR at Chef Mickey’s with Uncle R, Aunt C and K! AND it was Aunt C’s birthday!! I’m not exactly sure what time we got up, but I know it wasn’t as early as our park days! We got up, took showers, got dressed, etc. Around 10, we caught a bus to the Magic Kingdom. Sadly, we did not enter the park. We sat on a bench outside the monorail station and waited for the rest of the crew to arrive. After about 15 minutes, they arrived and we all took the monorail to the Contemporary! I really want to stay there! We’ve stayed at the other two monorail resorts, but have yet to stay at the Contemporary. Anyway, we arrived around 11, for our 11:05 ADR! Cutting it a little close!! We took the picture by the statue of Mickey and then sat down with our pager. While we were waiting, we passed the pager around our group to see who would be “the winner” (whoever was holding the pager when it went off). Kind of a simple game, but it keeps us entertained while we wait. I believe Aunt C was the winner that time. We were seated in the back, fairly close to the buffet. Thing3 had been looking forward to Chef Mickey’s for so long! During our 2008 trip we came to Chef Mickey’s and she still remembers it. More specifically, she remembers that Mom and Dad let me take her to get food and she ended up with a pile of gummy bears and a doughnut. She was very sad when we didn’t find any gummy bears. She made do with doughnut holes and a brownie.

Based on the pictures, Thing2 and K went with lots of sweets too.

I know I had some sort of potato cheese thing. It was delicious!! Pretty soon the characters started coming around.

Everyone enjoyed Chef Mickey’s I think. It’s a good choice with a large group in my opinion. After we finished, we rode the monorail to Magic Kingdom with Uncle R, Aunt C and K. They got off for their first day at MK and we rode the monorail back to the Contemporary. From there, we caught a bus to Downtown Disney!! We were going to go pick out some souvenirs! What did I have my mind set on? You’ll have to keep reading to find out! Thanks for reading!

We ate at Chef Mickeys last year for lunch and loved it! We sat near a window and the afternoon parade in MK set off fireworks right while we were eating. I didn't think the food was to die for, but the character experience is great.

Chef Mickey's does lunch? I still have a lot to learn I guess! I didn't think the food was spectacular either, but it was okay and yes, the character experience is wonderful!
