Is anyone else staying the night prior at the Radisson in Port Canaveral?

We will be staying at the Port the night before as well, but waiting to hear whether or not our Mother is joining us, in which case we will need two rooms. We are not sure which hotel we will stay at, I think I will just priceline or hotwire it and hope for the best! We will be driving a rental van down from the airport the afternoon before the cruise.

We were supposed to (and were going to stay at the radisson), but unfortunately due to a whole bunch of work issues with DW and myself, we aren't flying in until early saturday morning. Not usually much snow in Philly in early December, but we'll still be watching the skies.

Day off...sort of.

DD is sick today, we spent most of the night up with a sick tummy. DH is working out of town and has to catch a boat at 4 AM so I had sick kid duty. When DD made her last 'visit' to the restroom at 5 AM, I made the call that no one was going anywhere. So today is me, DD and DS. To all you stay at home mom's my hat is off to you. It is days like today that I reaffirm my decision to work full time. Holly cow staying home is HARD work. Again, BRAVO to all the stay at home parents.

Anyway, just looking around the dis and thought I'd check in.

Hey guys, sad to say but I have had to cancel this cruise due to my class/exam schedule. We will now be sailing on the May 23, 2009 Tortola cruise. I hope you all have a great time!

Ok gang, 7 months from today! It's getting closer.

It looks like we FINALLY have our plans set (almost) lol. now, it looks like we will be flying down friday night after work, and staying at the airport hyatt, then catching our stretch "happy limo" to the port in the am. Flight prices went nuts for saturday the last couple weeks and we're waiting on the ol' check from the government to be direct deposited to get our airfare. (stinks my ss ends in 88 lol). So the air on friday night PLUS the hyatt is less $ than flying down sat morning. At least right now. We'll see how much things change in the next 10 days until we can book it.
Turning 40 next monday, bummed about that, but given the alternative...

Other than that, it's a pretty nice day here in southern NJ.

7 more months!! I hadn't even clued in on the date. Still waiting to hear if DM has decided to join JOEYMAC family and us so we're waiting to make the final hotel arrangements, but flights are booked for everyone else and we'll be there 1 and 2 days before the cruise.

Happy early birthday to you !! 40 is fine, my husband started counting birthdays backwards from 40, 40 on our first Disney Cruise, life is good. JOEYMAC also turns 40 in June this year(I'm sure she's thrilled to see me post that here) Now if she'd only stop phoning me to tell me what her other friends sisters have given them for their 40th.... FLIGHTS ARE BOOKED!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so DH had an interview last Tuesday and is still waiting to hear back -- cross fingers, throw pixie dust, and pray, please! BUT, of course, Murphy's law and all that... I decided to log on and check airfare tonight. The fares dropped ALOT this week... so I thought, heck, let's check my skymiles account and see if anymore flights come up. Mind you, there has been crappy availability for the last 4 months... well, lo and behold, I found decent flights on the right days and times! So 2 tickets using our miles would cost $7.50 each. Check. Then I go over to the paid side and see how much they cost. $285.00 each! Check!

Total for 4 of us to fly roundtrip Sacramento to Orlando... $585. CHECK CHECK CHECK!!! Do the math people...That's $146.25 EACH! In the middle of a fuel crisis!

Yeah, so I thought, should we do something so frivolous when we're living on one paycheck and on the verge of the poorhouse....

DH said heck yeah... so I went for it. Maybe it's tempting fate, but I really hope that this little bit of good luck is an indicator of greater things to come! Let's hope and pray he hears back on the job in the next couple of days, and I swear he will be the hardest working guy there, until December 3rd, hehe.
