12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Joy, great news about your hubby.

HiddenMickeys, I will put you on the prayer list. Hope you find something really fast.

Great to hear!

Well, I sure could use some leftover pixie dust. I was just laid off about 2 hours ago. I'm still in shock that I actually have nowhere to GO tomorrow. I did the whole online app for NJ unemployment a few minutes ago (i'm not the type to waste time lol). Funny thing is, want to know what 26 weeks from this friday (my filing week) is? Yep, December 5th. :headache: Soooooo, I have until the cruise to find a new job, but hopefully I have one before that. Otherwise, I might have to cut back on the drink of the days just a tad. :worried: I'm not so concerned about the trip, even though its a long way from being paid off. Like I said to my wife on the phone a few minutes ago. With the plane tickets bought, I'm 100% sure we're flying to florida december 5th and back on the 13th. I'm just only about 50% sure we'll get on the ship. :rolleyes1 But everything happens for a reason. Still waiting for what exactly that reason is, but I'm a patient man lol. On top of that, its another rainy miserable day here in good ol' NJ. Here's hoping for a little sunshine soon. Sorry to vent. :(

So sorry to hear this! Hang in there and hopefully the worry will be for nothing :goodvibes

:tink: :tink: So very sorry to hear about you being laid off.
Sending you lots of pixie dust.
Take care...Monika

HiddenMickeys - I will send lots of pixie dust your way! I know how you feel... I think the uncertainty is the worst part of it all.

Thanks for all the well wishes. We're hanging in there, and I'm sure things will turn around. Between Joy's DH and myself, if any more people are added to our little group we may have to subtitle this the career changing, or get a job cruise. :rotfl2:

Back on topic, we hit the 6 month mark today. Woohoo!. :cool1:

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

~Mike~

That sucks HiddenMickey's! I'll be sending you Spaceship Earths full of pixie dust! :tinker: :tinker: pixiedust: pixiedust: :tink: :tink: Hopefully an even better opportunity will come your way!!

Hi all... I have only briefly scanned all the posts on this thread... it's exciting and overwhelming to see how many people are connecting prior to the trip!
My sister, her partner, and two sons took the 3 day cruise last year and called upon returning informing me that I WOULD be going with them on this cruise.
Sooo I'm heading out with my mother, my daughter Susan who will be 8, and my daugter Kate who will be 5. This will be our first real vacation since my husband passed away in March of 2007. It's much needed. Having Mom in the stateroom with us enables me to have some "me" time, as well as my sister and her family along.
I see, from the brief amount of reading that I did tonight, that I should get all the info... stateroom, dinners, what have you. This is my first cruise, and it will be my daughters first trip ANYWHERE other than to relatives around New England.
Good Lord, a "first" plane ride with two little ones and just me. Thankfully, I'm used to flying.
So I'm off to bed, but I'm looking forward to checking in tomorrow and over the next several months.
...
Hidden Mickeys, as your posts were on the last page, I did read up on your situation. I'm from the Red Bank area... I'll have you and your family in my prayers tonight.

Bear with me... Just checking to see that my avatar, signature, profile etc are posting correctly...

Hey all - I've lost track of where I was updating the roster on the Google Group site, so if you are not on there, let me know your info so I can add you.

We will probably go to MK and MGM before the cruise... we did a full week pre-cruise last time and it was too long of a vacation for our kids... they were on character overload by the end of the cruise....

Bubbasmom99....
not commenting on this quote, per se, but rather your picture.... did they do that picture of your family on the cruise? I'd love to do something like that with my girls!!!
Also, can anyone help me decipher all the initials being used? DS, DD, DH???
I THINK I understand, but I'm working my way through all the posts, and I'm getting caught up on these.
;)

Another annoying question....
sorry :(
From what I am reading, there are activities for the kids while the parents go ashore?
I'm not all that sure I'll be comfortable with that, but hubby and I spent a week in St. Thomas in 2002 and I loved Charlotte Amalie, and I'm certain they WONT, so it may be a nice day for me to get away and kinda recharge my batteries, even if I talk mom into staying with the kids. But perhaps, if I feel comfortable, I won't have to....
I am NOT a BEACH person. :santa:
I prefer shopping and cold and air conditioning! LOL

Hey there everybody! I haven't posted in a while. So I figured I might say hi. Anyway. Hello to everybody new. I noticed there are a few people around mine and my sisters age that will be going on the cruise the same time as us. Thats good to know. If any of you have myspace let me know. My sister and I have myspace. Its the site other than this one that I'm on all the time. :goodvibes

Joy: Glad to here your husband got a job. :cool1:

Mike: Hope things work out. pixiedust:

:woohoo: Schools finally out for the summer for me! My little sis and I are absolutely thrilled. Thank heavens I got through another year. It actually went by pretty quick. Now hopefully if things go in my favor, I will get the notice that I passed my Algebra HSA. Its the only thing standing in my way of graduating next year. Even though I get awesome grades ::yes:: I try not to think about it to much. I'm pretty sure I did good. After my senior year its off to college. :moped: Watch that come really quick too.

I can't wait for the cruise. For the first time. I want summer to go by quickly. Its actually really hot here. Crazy weather. We've got the air cranked and are trying to bare it.

...Well. Thats about it. I don't think I've missed anything. Well hope everyone is doing well. Can't wait till Dec. :hyper:

LATAS: They have the plain white backdrop available almost every night. We just chose Pirate Night to do a portrait in front of that backdrop. They call them "Lifestyle Portraits" in the atrium.

As far as the shore excursions and kids club, there are activities available all day every day for the kids. If you let the counselors know you are leaving the ship, they will make sure your kids stay occupied and distracted all day. I am still undecided on what we're going to do and whether or not to take the kids. Last time, we did all go ashore in Costa Maya and walk around but we left the kids on board when we walked around Cozumel. I don't really want to do anything "grown up" on the shore excursions but at the same time, my kids usually don't like exploring (read: walking).

Just catching up with this thread.

HiddenMickeys - oh no, I'm so sorry! Sending lots of pixie dust your way. My father just recently found a job after being downsized, so there's hope!

For the cruise, I'm SO undecided about what to do in St Thomas/St John. I think I've narrowed it down to snorkeling, but there are so many snorkeling excursions. Does anyone have any suggestions? (for two young adults, no kids)

Thanks, we'll be ok. Everything happens for a reason, and I guess it was my time lol. as they say, that's life. lol :confused3

as for snorkeling. From what I have seen/read (never been there) St. John is absolutely beautiful and great for snorkeling. (this coming from a saltwater aquarium site I frequent). So I would say you can't go wrong with any on St. John. Just my $.02 (which doesn't come easy these days since I'm unemployed ) lol
