12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

We are under 7 months! Yipee!

Just received our DCL DVD in the mail the other day. My 7 year old saw the ship and right away said he didn't want to go on it...:guilty: then he watched a little bit more and was disappointed we would only be on it for 7 nights!:yay: (Phewf!)

We are trying to figure out what to do the day we get back from the cruise. We all fly out the next day, so we are looking into some choices we have, and they will depend on whether or not DM decides to join us. We all live in different parts of the country, East Coast, Quebec and West Coast, so we are trying to get her on the same flight as my DS (PORP907) so it won't be too stressful travelling for her. We all really want her to come.::yes::

Happy early birthday to you !! 40 is fine, my husband started counting birthdays backwards from 40, 40 on our first Disney Cruise, life is good. JOEYMAC also turns 40 in June this year(I'm sure she's thrilled to see me post that here) Now if she'd only stop phoning me to tell me what her other friends sisters have given them for their 40th....:sad2: Have a great day Monday and see you in 7 months!!

Thanks "DS" for sharing that information with everyone! I would just like to let every one know that I am the youngest sister and she is the oldest! :rotfl2: I am not dreading it at all...actually I am really looking forward to the special holiday my DS has planned for me for my 40th!:woohoo:

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY and hope you have a great one!!

Hope all works out for your DH! And I am sooooooo happy that I booked our flights right away. The same one has almost doubled price wise for the 5 of us!! Now we're trying to decide if we want to do WDW or Universal after the cruise. We'll have 2 days after. I think we're leaning towards the MVMCP and then shopping DTD. But who knows! Love that the times getting shorter!! :)

;)
HAPPY MOM'S DAY!!:flower1:
I hope every mom out there has a "Magical" day!
May you get waited on all day and massages tonight!:woohoo:

I haven't posted in a while. Well first off. Happy Mother's day to my most awesome mom (frdeb1999)! Love ya!:lovestruc :hippie:

Well lets see updates. Mom has pretty much filled you in on most things. As for myself, I'm counting down the days till finals are over and school lets out. Also counting down the days till the cruise. Can't wait!:wizard:

Joy I hope everything works out with your Husband and his job.

Also welcome to anyone that is new. I'm the chatty 17 year old, soon to be 18 (can't wait! :woohoo: ) My name is Cassie.

Hmmm. Nothing else really. Rather bored at the moment. Well I'll talk to you all later.

Hello all!

My DH and I will be joining you all on this trip! We're going to be celebrating our honeymoon (2 years late :rolleyes1 ). We'll be in 6042, with late dining.

We're paid off! Just so we can start saving for the stateroom bill.

welcome forever42!

and waving hello to everyone, I haven't been to the boards in months but am starting to get excited about the cruise now that we are closer!

DM has finally made up her mind and is joining JOEYMAC and family, DH and I on the cruise. Now we're 3 and 3 in 2 cat 11 rooms. Next is just to figure out which 3 is in each room. I'm thinking we'll get magnetic signs done for each of us, and whichever room your sign is on is the one you're in when you get back to the room :rotfl2: Once again a very romantic vacation with a 3rd body in our room, whether it be a DM or DN, or maybe even a DS?? Good thing my DH loves his InLaw's so much

Now off to change excursions and hotel rooms to add one more person.:cheer2:

Woohoo, plans are FINALLY set. We booked our air and hotel this past friday morning. We'll be flying down friday night (12/5), getting in around 8:30pm and staying at the Airport Hyatt, then taking happy limo to the port in the AM. Feels good to finally have that done and paid for. If you're flying in a day early, 200 days left. If not, tomorrow is 200 days til we sail! :cool1: :cheer2:

We live here so we're set on the traveling thing for the most part ;) DH did agree to drive over to the Port the night before since they have free parking at one of the hotels there, just have to make that reservation!

Right now I'm driving DH nuts talking about excursions. I thought I knew what we were going to do, but I'm not sure!

For St Maarten I'm looking at the Golden Eagle Catamaran in the AM, then maybe the Afternoon Beach Bash in the afternoon. For St Thomas, the St John Eco Hike in the AM, and the sky way in the afternoon. DH wants to make the most of our days in port!

But part of me isn't sure about the Eco Hike - wondering if we should do one of the snorkeling excursions instead?

I'm hoping everybody is having a great holiday weekend. :flower3: As for me, here in Alaska it's been sunny for three days which must be a record. :sunny: Seriously, this is quite rare for us, we even have some sunburn action going on! Have been spending time in the yard planting and weeding, etc. Here's to the next 6 months flying by so we can all be relaxing in the Caribbean sun soon. :beach:

It's been awhile since I've checked in so I thought I'd drop a quick note to say "hi" (and also bump us up to page 1 while I was at it.) We booked our flights this week - fares seemed too good to pass up. So that's one thing done. Otherwise it's just work, work, work, to get the cruise paid off!

Does anyone have the date when returning cruisers can book activities figured out already? I haven't sat down and worked out the math yet so I thought I'd ask. I'm assuming it's early September (90 days I think). LMK. Thanks!

Hope you all have a happy Memorial Day!!

I believe it is September 7. It's the day after we return from our cruise. Don't have a clue how I'm going to get up that early to make ressies (no way I'm staying up).

Hi everyone! Checking in here... I think I am way behind on updating the database so I will try to get that done by next weekend. My daughter is graduating from kindergarten this week and I have been seriously buried in projects there, and for her preschool, who hired me to do their slideshow this year... plus the other photography sessions... and some other logo design projects I'm working on... ugh!

Did I mention DH got a job? It wasn't the one he wanted but he got a call from a different store like 2 days after he got the rejection letter... they hired him on the spot -- he didn't even have an interview - they just asked him if he wanted it... go figure. His schedule is all wacky now and he has no seniority, but thankfully December time off doesn't sound like it will be a problem.

I did a quick calculation on how much this vacation is costing us and it's frightening, especially since all my disposable income is going into the gas tank!! At least we don't get the fuel surcharge on the cruise, right?

Congrats on your DH's job, Joy! That's got to be a relief! And.......We're almost at our 6 month mark. Woohoo!:cool1:

I booked FL Tours for our town car... we're doing the 3 day - from MCO to Universal, Universal to the Port, and Port to MCO. Our flight home doesn't leave until 5 pm so I think we'll get a Day rate room at the Hyatt so the kids can swim and relax... it's $89 plus tax. Not too shabby considering we'll be at the airport at what, like 9 am? We've waited in the airport all day and it's NOT FUN.

Is anyone else thinking these baggage allowances are just ridiculous now? We're flying Delta, who is still allowing one bag at least for the time being... I am thinking of having a box shipped beforehand to the ship, with our formal wear, pirate wear, sand toys and other beach stuff. We'll only be at Universal for 2 days so I'm pretty sure we could live on one big suitcase between the 4 of us. The only hard part is figuring out how to ship it all home when we're done. There must be somewhere between the port and the airport that has a shipping store....?

Hello to all. It has been awhile since I posted although I have been lurking...

Joy, great news about DH. Funny but it just wouldn't be right without you and your family on this trip.

Summer is in full swing here in Alaska. Between activities for the kids and myself we are constantly on the move. The bummer for us during the summer is that DH typically has to work 6 sometimes 7 days a week. Bad for family time but that mean the trip should be paid off soon and we can start saving for all the extras :rotfl:

We are off to DD's softball game. :drive:

Great news Joy! Thankfully our airline has'nt imposed anything at this time either. It's completely ridiculous when you factor in how much your already paying. Hopefully nothing else will pop up between now and then. Although if prices keep rising.....I'm sure we'll see something. Just finished up with one graduation here and now finishing up the school yr. They get more wound up as it gets closer to cruise time! :)

Great to hear!

Well, I sure could use some leftover pixie dust. I was just laid off about 2 hours ago. I'm still in shock that I actually have nowhere to GO tomorrow. I did the whole online app for NJ unemployment a few minutes ago (i'm not the type to waste time lol). Funny thing is, want to know what 26 weeks from this friday (my filing week) is? Yep, December 5th. :headache: Soooooo, I have until the cruise to find a new job, but hopefully I have one before that. Otherwise, I might have to cut back on the drink of the days just a tad. :worried: I'm not so concerned about the trip, even though its a long way from being paid off. Like I said to my wife on the phone a few minutes ago. With the plane tickets bought, I'm 100% sure we're flying to florida december 5th and back on the 13th. I'm just only about 50% sure we'll get on the ship. :rolleyes1 But everything happens for a reason. Still waiting for what exactly that reason is, but I'm a patient man lol. On top of that, its another rainy miserable day here in good ol' NJ. Here's hoping for a little sunshine soon. Sorry to vent. :(
