12/5/09 -- DUMMY -- The Cruise Your Heart Desires Most ; )

Aw Guys - I've got good news and bad news -

BAD NEWS:

I am officially off the Ghost Cruise.

GOOD NEWS:

I am booked on 3 cruises for the 2010 those being:

7/6/2010 - Baltic Region to Helsinki, Finland (Steve and I)

7/18/2010 - Baltic Region to Tallinn, Estonia This is also the birthday, anniversary and Med Cruise Reunion tour so I had no choice but to book it. Family cruise and the one that I transferred our reservation too - we have connecting cat 10's for this one. Although only the 10% savings on one cabin

9/18/2010 TransAtlantic Repo. (Steve and I - although he's already quacking that he might not be able to make it)

I am literally kicking myself for not booking 2 ghost cruises like our dear Cpt Jack told me too but who'd of thunk it that I would literally book all these cruises. Chances are that I will have to cancel one. But it won't be the repo or the birthday cruise that is for sure.

Now with all of 2010 booked, I was having withdrawal and after speaking with Des regarding 2009, I have decided to splurge on myself for next year. And by splurge I don't mean $$ wise. I had originally told the kids they could go with us to Peru in an Adventures by Disney tour. But after realizing that our 25th High School reunion was cancelled - THANKS DES! :thumbsup2 - I thought - what the heck, so I managed to talk the family into not wanting to go saying it would be my gift to myself of not having kids around since this is what "I" wanted to do and have wanted to do since I was 8 yrs old again. First Pompeii, now this. They swallowed it hook, line and sinker and so it seems that I will be booking Adventures By Disney for just Steve and I for August 4 - August 12, 2009. This means that since we will not have to fork out over $7300 for airfare to Peru, we can then book a 2 bedroom at WDW for August 12 or 13th - August 22, 2009. I will be there hopefully catching up with Des and Cheryl and anyone else. This works out perfectly for me and my youngest who will start school on that Thursday and won't miss out on summer school and volleyball summer camp.

She and my oldest ones will fly out to meet up with us and we will probably stay at Old Key West because they afford more room provided I can get a 2 bedroom. If not, may have to stay at SSR. Where is everyone staying at those that are going at this time?

CHERYL - I've been meaning to call you but I've had no time - I haven't forgotten about you.

Arlene - you and Richard up for a meeting then? :thumbsup2

Anyone else?

If I play my cards right - I may have to carry over a few points to which I hope to put to a prestay at either London or Barcelona in 2010. But depending on how ABD goes - we may look for another adventure in 2011.

Well, just off the phone from CC Member Services. Moved one of our Dummy cruises to the 7 night Western - Mar 6-13/2010 (our spring break). Managed to score the SPH - 5520:thumbsup2 . Not sure, if we'll actually keep it, but right now it's a possibility. Asked about the Land/Sea for booking for Ken and I in OCT 2010 but they are not available yet. Keeping our Tortola cruise in 2009 until we officially decide about Alaska with my Inlaws.

Was originally looking at switching to the NYE cruise, but the timing doesn't work for the kids in school and the pricing was ridiculous.

Envious of everyone booking on the Westbound TA. Would love to be with you all.

Congrats on the cruises! I priced some of them out for 2010 & they are way too rich for our blood! We may look at doing another line out of NY for 2010 since they are much less expensive & no worries about airfare.

As for WDW next August....we are doing a short RCCL cruise with extended family from Aug. 14-17th so we are currently planning to be in WDW from Aug. 17-23rd (maybe longer if I can get more time off). We just got back from SSR (our home resort) so we're going to try for another DVC resort at the 7 month window.

Since we didn't have a chance to meet on the TOAL - hope we do get to see you in August. Is your sister still working here in The Villages?

We stayed at Animal Kingdom Villas last June and thought it was wonderful.

My sister Judi is asst. mngr. at McCalls now. Ask for her & I tell her I sent you! She'll take good care of you! ;)

I hope you had a great time at WDW.:flower3: Welcome back. I missed you on chat too. Looks like you get the honor of seeing us again next year.::yes:: :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

Yesterday we transferred our "dummy" date to a TA. She then booked us on the June 12, 2010 Baltic Cruise. Cat 11...
We still got our 10% booking discount applied, and the $200 ship board credit.
Its a little steep for us, so a cat 11 is fine.
Two 60+ retired seniors from NJ.

Transferred the Dummy res yesterday morning and booked the WB TA. Looking forward to pirating across the Atlantic :cool1:

I don't know if I ever said it or not, but we decided to book the 7-18-10 Northern European cruise. We got our rates for connecting cat 10's, and with rebooking discount and OBC it's not quite as bad as I thought it would be, but still really expensive. We'll see how things go, but we really want to do this cruise. I see a lot of overtime in my future after I get licensed.

We are currently at AKL but hope to move it to BW at the 7 month window! I am so glad you are going (not like I wouldn't see you bfore then but still!) Also..I am emailing you the info we talked about last week.

  Looking forward to spending time with you!

So...my latest adventure..about 2 weeks ago..while on our mystery cruise one evening...I had a lot of pain in my shoulder and arm...nothing tingling or having trouble breathing so I ignored it. Once home the pain kind of hung out in my upper chest and shoulder and when I pressed the spot...it really hurt. Everyone said..pulled muscle it will get better...yesterday it got so bad..I had trouble breathing, sharp pains in the chest and back and my left arm..off to the Dr. (Dad passed away of a heart attack so I am a little freaked out by the prospect). Turns out..It is muscle damage...from my wrist to my shoulder and across my chest ..so here I sit..in a sling on my left arm (typing one handed is the pits!) and am not allowed to lift, carry, pull..etc....I am on an anti-inflamatory med and should be better in about 4-5 weeks..

Unfortunately, while at the Dr.'s...he realized it's been a long time since I had a full check-up with blood work :scared1: so I have to go back and do that in about 2 weeks....:headache:

Laura, how many cruises have you got booked ?????

Love to see ya in the summer!!!!!!

Cool! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to catchup with you! We'll have to find a land version of RBD to congregate. BTW, let us know how you like RCCL. Did it so long ago can't remember if I liked the line.

We are currently at AKL but hope to move it to BW at the 7 month window! I am so glad you are going (not like I wouldn't see you bfore then but still!) Also..I am emailing you the info we talked about last week.

Ah Des - glad to hear it's nothing SUPER serious - although that's painful as it is. Not so glad to hear its been a while since your last exam - although I am the pot calling the kettle black. I am about 6 months late for my mammogram. :lmao: Keep us updated on the check-up.

Laura, how many cruises have you got booked ?????

Love to see ya in the summer!!!!!!

:wave2: Arelene - I know - I warned you all I'm crazy. In all honesty, I did not think I would be booking so many, it started out like this. I had planned on 7/18 cruise ONLY - which is the one that many of my 7/28/07 Med Group were booking as a reunion. Plus, my birthday lands ON a sea day which forces all the attention on me that day! :teeth: So, I asked a dear friend, Grumpylover54 to book it for me. She then called me to tell me that another group of friends which I had sailed on in the 11 Night Special Caribbean were sailing on 7/6 and did I want to book that one? So, in discussion, I at first hemmed hawwed because in the back of my mind I was really considering doing the Westbound TransAtlantic. I had a blast plus its so late in Sept that there is a good chance there will not be that many kids onboard.

So, I told her to book only 7/6/10 and the Repo if it was inexpensive (relatively anyway). While talking to Julie - Bellelinus -she told me to listen to her and just book it (7/18) so I did. :teeth: Especially since Steve came home early and saw me on the computer - saw what I was looking at - the dates and innocently said -OH! A back to back? So, I explained that these were 2 12-day cruises and we probably couldn't do both and I would be missing my birthday celebrations by a cruise. He again replied - no back to back. Well, he sounded so upset that I asked him all excited - if I could book it since we had about 22 months to decide. He said go ahead. Then, Pam got me online and we discussed our annual September cruise and we talked each other into booking the TransAtlantic.

So to make a long story short, I booked 3 - the Ghost Cruise ressie went to the Family cruise - the 7/18 where we booked 2 cabins. However, I am sweriously hoping that by the time 2010 rolls around, I will have gotten rid of at least one of the older two kids. They are getting way too expensive to cart around. :rotfl: Besides, about time they lured their own money maker to the altar. :lmao: Joke guys! ;)

I then contemplated booking a Dover to Barcelona cruise but the price for that 8 day was about $2 grand MORE than the WB TA was so that went out the window.

Chances are I will have to cancel one but which one? I managed to talk a friend from home to sail with us. They ended up booking late last night on the 7/18 one. I'm afriad the one that may get cancelled is the 7/6 one. However, I have 22 months to work on this.

Anyone else, booking with hopes of finding a way to go later?

I haven't even begun to tell Steve what Disney is charging for a hotel room (about 586 for 2 adults for one night!) I am just going to tell him to book a small efficiency apt like I did with my friends and spend about 3-4 days ahead of time.

I'm a stinker aren't I?

You know, he always has the option to say no to me (:lmao: :lmao: ) but he hasn't yet. So, I'm pushing the envelope. Besides, had to take advantage of that 50% booking deposit.

BTW, CHERYL - ARE YOU GOING ON THE WBTA? I'M NO GOOD AT BEATING AROUND THE BUSH! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

(:ssst: If you are - we have to work on Des to get on this one) ;)

Just for fits and giggles..I went to look at the one cruise that sounded interesting to me..the Capitals cruise...for almost 11K :scared1: we would book cat 11...that's 3K more then it cost us for the EB repo in a Cat 5....losts of choices left on those...not selling as fast as I thought...TA isn't bad..under 7K for the 3 of us in a CAT5.

Try looking at the price for 5.... 3 of them adults! :scared1:

I think you need to go on the 7/18 Northern Europe cruise! Then we could watch the rest of Rocky Horror! :rotfl2:

::yes:: Steph ::yes:: I totally agree, I will watch it with you since I've never officially seen it myself. Book the 7/18 - you can always cancel.

Jon wants to do one of the Northern European cruises...... David & Helen are doing the July 6th one and y'all are doing the next one...... :confused3
Unfortunately Jon & I never got a chance to discuss them when he was here - he's in England now, again! The price for the 5 of us in a Cat 4 & airfare is close to what it costs for us in a Cat 3 on the Panama cruise......

I do have the WB TA on hold right now -- I did it without dh knowing. I am hoping to talk to him later today or tomorrow.............. the price was really good -- granted right now it is only a Cat 4! LOL!

Since dh has to have a balcony I don't know that we would save any money with connecting rooms -- if our rooms weren't connecting then we would have to have a *boys room* and a *girls room*.

Aw Guys - I've got good news and bad news -

You will  your ABD!!!! Even though I have the WB TA booked...we may cancel and book a family ABD instead.

All of your plans sound wonderful!!! And I so know what you mean about not paying for the older ones!!!! Samantha will be 19 by the summer of 2010. But, her daddy told her that as long as we *liked* her she could travel with us. Our older 2 weren't *liked* as much by us when they were that age. :rotfl2:

Sorry...You won't get us on the TA....even though the timing is fine..I promised Richard I wouldn't even consider it because we will be doing a 7 day RCCL that summer with friends and then something nice in 2011.

We booked the RCCL Serenade of the Seas for the Halloween 4 day next year for our mystery cruise..it goes out of San Diego and goes to Cabo...as a treat to ourselves we booked a suite (since no other cruises for a year!) :scared1: ..I really wanted to add a cruise next summer on Wonder after our WDW trip but am restraining myself from doing so! :rotfl:

I better spend more time on work and less time on vacation planning!

We are going trick or treating at Mickey's Halloween Treat tonight at DCA. Still trying to decide what I am going to wear as a costme...oh well..5 hours to decide! :rotfl2:
