12/4 MCO to BOS 6:55PM Song

I also had no notice from Song. MMMMMMMMMMMM..... I hope the pilot knows what time the plane is leaving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No kidding - when I went on - line to order snacks for the kids they didn't even have my flight listed!

Just got the phone call - interesting, they offered us $150 and seats on a later flight - but when they cancelled our first flight they told me there was no room on the later flight. I just looked on-line and sure enough there are seats left. Regardless, I declined - we chose an afternoon flight so our kids would be home and in bed early for the school the next day. And, if we get bumped at the airport, the comp. will be better!

Hi Bleeps,

It is the pm 215 flight out of MCO, flight #1995...I think it was originally scheduled for 245pm. I booked this flight a long time ago and when I checked on it last month it had changed times and they said my seats were also unassigned(I had 6 seats assigned right in a row when i booked). They told me they would assign my seats at the airport but they were not sure if the could be seated together(3 adults, 3 children) After 2 customer service persons and a supervisor they saw it better to assign me my seats right then  . So now I have 2 rows of 3.

Thanks Joe!! We are indeed on the same flight that you are that day -- the 2:15 (currently!) MCO to BOS. We booked/paid last January.... I had called/confirmed it all last week (after noticing online that they had changed it all so many times there was no hope in determining what was or wasn't scheduled!), and after the call their online itinerary system is now showing us as confirmed for our seats, etc. etc. So, hoping for the best! I plan to call the day before both our departing and returning flights to triple check. Boy, isn't this just the kind of pain in the neck that you don't need when you travel?!? Thanks again for your info! Let's hope, together, that the weather up here cooperates, too!

Here is another spin on the overbooked flight. Friends are flying JFK/PBI on 12/24.Song called and said flight was overbooked and would they take a flight from LGA about about the same time for 150.00 per seat. The kicker is that they would not give them seats, they were told they have 7 rows blocked out. They are travleing with DS 9 so right away 6 rows are not available to them. When they said no they wanted seat assignments, they said sorry no can do. They are staying on the original flight. I don't I want go to the airport without a seat on Christmas eve on an overbooked flight

They called again!!!!!!!!! Song called and asked again if we would change our 12/10 flight from mco to bos...this time they said they would give us $200 each. I told them if they paid for our lodging on sat. nite I would fly out Sun. morning. She said she could not offer me that..oh well!!!

I am sorry ... We booked our Song flights back in April for our past October trip and for our trip home in December. Never again. Flights changed times (in some cases, over 2 hours), we have lost seats, and, worst of all, prices for our October flight home fell $30 each from our original booking. With SWA in the same situation we would have received a credit. With Song we would have had to pay a $25 change fee per ticket. I know, the rules are the rules, but this is just bad customer service and bad policy making.

Even though there are no assigned seats and no tvs, I love SWA! Their great policies, customer service, and rapid rewards more than make up the difference in $ for me. I have never had the issues with SWA that I have had with Song - and I have flown them a lot more.

Hi -- I thought I'd share my experience with Song, having flown with them earlier this month out of Boston.

Both of my flights were changed and I was notified by email. The day of our departure, Song announced several times that the flight was overbooked, that they'd issue a credit of $250 for anyone willing to fly out later in the day. The flight they were offering was not direct --unlike the one that was overbooked. There were no takers.

I began to get a little nervous once boarding time came. I was so grateful to get in our seats. After everyone had boarded, the flight attendant again announced that the plane was overbooked and that there was a family of 4, a mom and dad and their 2 kids, waiting outside. Song had overbooked 2 seats -- the attendant was now pleading, saying that the kids were crying!

Finally, 2 older people graciously offered their seats. Song was still offering the $250 credit and now a direct flight later in the day.

The funny thing is, when I went to print our boarding passes, I changed my seat assignments. The chart showed at least 5 seats available. And on the day of departure, Song was also looking for people to sit in the exit row. How can Song be overbooked when those seats are not taken? Is it because people book a flight but don't choose their seats?

All I can say is -- Beware all of you Song flyers!!

!

Yes, not all people choose a seat. Plus some folks buy packages where the air comes included. Often the TA doing those doesn't book the seat. I routinely make sure my mother has seats on her flights booked by Elderhostel for example, but if you have someone who doesn't travel a lot they may not realize this.

Also, on flights to MCO the exit row can actually be an issue. YOu can't sit there if you are under 15 (?) I met at least one parent who decided the "rules" didn't apply to his darling. He picked the exit row for a 7 year old which reqiured several last minute changes. (He was full of himself and wound up seperated from his child which really upset him, but it was his fault. Turns out he "confessed" to the FA that he had booked those seats MONTHS ago... when she asked him "Were those the only seats available?" He said NO, there were lots of seats, but I always sit in the exit. SHe then said didn't you see the questions about the ages? Response Yes, but I figured you wouldn't care since I am a frequent flyer... they cared!)

Originally for our December trip home I had seats in row 5 chosen for us. The flight number changed and we lost our seats, and I was really concerned that we would end up in a similar situation as what was described above. Everything (i am hoping!) will end up OK - we have similar seats with our revised intnerary - but if you front the money months ahead of time you should have your choice of seats and not have to even be asked to bump. The whole situation with Song and Delta has just left me jittery.

I am so glad our trip in February is with SWA!

We, too, had our Song flights moved around. We are flying BOS to MCO on 12/3 and 12/10. At first, we couldn't get our seats back (we booked months ago and picked great seats only to have them lost in the shuffle) then we finally got seats together for our outbound flight. Unfortunately, our flight home (12/10 at 11:10 am) they do not have 5 seats together. The rep from Song assigned us random seats b/c the flight is oversold and she said that those without seat assignments are more likely to be bumped. Now, we just need to hope that we can get at least three seats together (we have 2 together) at the airport so that my 6 and 3 year old don't have to sit alone.

Also, I was very worried about being bumped until my DH told me that they can't bump military members on leave. Good to know!

we are also on SONG but are JFK to MCO 12/3 & 12/10 - our flight times changed AT LEAST a dozen times - each time I noticed, I just emailed, using the form on the website and had my seats back within 24 hours.

The last week or two now there have been no changes to the schedule, so I am hoping it will remain the same.

Just my experience.
