Welcome aboard! I am sure Kim and Tina will get you all taken care of as far the the roll call list. You might want to look at the past two pages to see what we have been chatting about. Some of have been talking about maybe doing a flashmob on pirate night. Nothing has been confirmed yet. The past three or four pages has a link that shows you what one is. Check it out see what you think and give us feedback. I have not heard back from the originator of the idea if we are going to do this but it sure looks like fun.:dance3::cheer2:

Welcome Michellemb! We have a pretty fun group going here :thumbsup2. Congrats on booking this cruise. Did you just book, or did you just find this board? Is this your first cruise? What Cat are you currently in? There has been some talk on this thread as well about what to do about a Christmas tree (if this is your holiday). Glad to have you and your family joining us!

Hi Michelle! I'll add your family to the roll call. Do you want your DH's name added? Also, let us know if you decide your family wants to do the FE exchange...

Grading papers I will bet. That is what I will be doing tomorrow. I just finished an assignment for my third MA degree (which is leading into a doctorate program next year) and I am brain dead. However I did notice there hasn't been anymore talk about the flashmob idea. Are we up for it? I think it would be a hoot. There is enough of us if we could get everyone to buy into the idea we could really shake up the crew. Bill How's the teenager?
I hope you all have a great weekend and I will chat with you later....:dance3::cheer2:

I'm in for the flash mob...however I cannot promise that my dance skills will be impressive :lmao: I wish I had papers to grade (still haven't found my teaching job yet :confused3) I am going to try the sub thing for a while...I am hoping to find something before the cruise so I can relax a little bit!

Good luck on the job search  My cousin's wife just graduated with a teaching degree and is having trouble finding a job, too. Hopefully something will come up soon...

Depending on what you teach, maybe you could consider doing some tutoring? That is what I've been doing for the past 5 years and I really enjoy it. I taught high school math for several years and then worked in the private sector for a long time but always kept my certificate up to date because of the old adage "you never know". Sure glad I did. For now PT work is perfect for my life and I really love what I do. Not saying that you would want to do it indefinitely, but it's a way to get some experience under your belt and earn some good money to boot.

As for the flash mob, I think it sounds like fun and may be up for it! Please keep me posted.

My dilemma over the Christmas tree thing continues!!! I went out shopping Friday and stopped in a couple places that had trees already. I really want a non-lit one - oh, the headaches we have had with those "convenient" pre-lits!!! Honestly, it's movie material - LOL! I'm finding it difficult to find non-lit trees and when you do they are just as expensive as pre-lits...I don't get that?! :confused3 But it will all come together, I am confident!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Hey don't worry I am 55 and my dance skills have been in the closet for years. Mark and I get out our dancing shoes and dust them off every year for our cruise but I must say we sure do not get noticeable attention unless it is comments like: Well at least they have the guts to still try and dance. But if we have a good leader we can follow instruction, right? Afterall we are teachers. I think the most important factor is the FLASH. We want to make sure the crew of Disney does not get wind of our intentions because that will take away the element of surprise, I think. Who was the originator of this idea? We need to have someone as a leader. What do you think?
As for the employment situation, I can totally relate... I teach college part time meaning no contract. Each semester I have to secure classes. Next semester I will be looking for new employment for the first time in ten years due to the financial budget in California. I have some feelers out with private institutions who do not receive funding from the state. Time will tell. In the meantime, I have plenty on my plate as they say. So this cruise will be the vacation of all vacations. You will be able to spot me and Mark at the port. We will be the two lovebirds in their fifties; dressed in disney clothes; acting like a couple of teenagers; wanting to party on!:dance3::cheer2:

Robyn and Kerry

Hope you have a magical day and lots of happy years to come

Congratulations :cheer2:

I found this board before we booked last month. I wanted to make sure we were going before I introduced us.

My husband and I have been on RCL a couple of times and once with our second child when he was 4 months old. I should have thought that one through a little more.

We currently have two category 12 cabins. I'm hoping to at least get two cabins on the same deck.

I need to go back a couple of pages and read, but are you talking about a Christmas for at home or for your cabin?

Hi Everyone,

Still trying to get the hang of being on the boards. I noticed that everyone put their names and stuff on the roll call, so I wanted to that for our family.

My name is Tiffany, my husband is Brian, and my girls are Paige (10) and Grace (8). I think the flash mob idea is a riot. The girls and I would do it for sure. My husband has two left feet but absolutely no shame, so maybe you would let him be in it just for that.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had great weekends and ready for the week. :)

It snowed here it Boston yesterday:scared1:!!! It's mid-October! I hope this doesn't mean we'll have a rough winter! We need to make it on the cruise and I'm now worried about the weather delaying/canceling our flight down to Florida...:sad2: Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather!

Also, are there any food allergies in our group? I just want to make sure my FE gift will be ok for all and if not so I can make some adjustments! :thumbsup2

Have a great well everybody! :yay:
