I have a new trumpet player.. I hope he'll want to do marching band. Oh what fun. Today was pet adoptions for us (community service for my son). Last night I came up with a great (well, I think it is great) idea for my FE. Yet, another handmade item. I hope I can work it out. It isn't hard, just new to me. Still working on my actual fish extender itself. Those participating..do you have yours already? Did you make it or buy it made? I am thinking of making a reversible one. I bought some really cool pirate fabric. Need to decide if I pair it up with Gold or Red.

I am making ours as well. I picked up some great fabric. Mark and I had some great ideas for ours but Mark has sworn me to secrecy. You will have to come by our cabin to see it. Hint: It may not be the same after St Maarteen. I too have been busy these last couple of days. I am working on a third MA degree which will lead into a doctrate next year plus teaching, grading, and I managed to catch some horrible cold that kick my .....Now that I feel human again it is nice to check in.

Hi guys-
I made our FE (with a lot of sewing help from my mother!). It turned out so cute and I can't wait to use it. However, now that stores are starting to get some of their Christmas decorations out, I've seen a couple things that would work well. I'm not sure if any of you have these stores in your area, but I'm sure you might find something similar where you live. Hobby Lobby had a cute "Christmas Card Holder" that looked just like an FE. I believe it had 4 pockets and a dowel at the top. I think it was $15-$20. Then yesterday at Garden Ridge, I saw a giant red felt stocking that had 5 pockets going down the front with jingle bells hanging from each pocket. It would've been really easy to personalize with felt letters. It was $20. I'm thrilled with the one I made, but there is something to be said for saving time and money by just buying one! Just thought I'd share in case any of you are looking for one.

Robyn,,, just wanted to say congratulations on your wedding , while I've got the chance to say it. I am concerned that we may not end up going after all. Billy is not turning in homework and he is failing at least two classes as a senior. He is now grounded from seeing his girlfriend, Kathleen, and this will not go well. Car is confiscated as well as his cell phone.. He doens't seem to care. Don't know what to do, but the whole thing is falling apart right now. I can't imagine that Kathleen will want to continue to be close when she is banned from seeing him other than at school. What do I do,,,,, I need some help from you guys. He won't listen to me.

As far as your son...he's a teenager. The more you restrict him, the less responsive he'll be. I'll send you a PM with some tips (from the teacher's perspective).

I am not able to get back on the thread everyday right now and the last thing I want to do is to miss someone's info who wants to be added to the roll call or participate in the FE...

Robyn, it looks like we have 15 staterooms currently signed up for the FE exchange...I'm sorry my count was one off earlier when you asked b/c I had somehow missed the post from smokescreen. Hope that didn't mess anything up in your calculations...

Leslie, did you see those stockings at the Garden Ridge down at Carolina Place Mall? If so I may swing over there and take a look...I purchased an FE from someone on eBay and I love it, but I thought I might get something for the other family members traveling with us and put little treats in it for them a couple times over the week. They won't be doing the FE exchange with us, it's their first cruise and I think they are going to be overwhelmed just with the experience. But I'd love to do something special for them to help them get excited about the holidays on board.

Bill, I am sooo sorry to hear that this trip may not happen for your family. I can understand your position, though. Senior year is not the time to let the grades slip, even though I know it's an exciting year for the kids and they have lots of things on their minds other than school. I hope it all works out, I was sure looking forward to meeting the DISer behind those dancing bananas! Please keep us all posted.
