Mary Ann, I'm so sorry to hear that! Tell Jim that he does too still have parents, he always will. They just aren't here on Earth with him anymore. But I understand....it's very hard. :grouphug:

Sorry to hear about your FIL mary ann. Thats got to be a tough thing. Well all, i am off in a few hours. Got to get my ipod working (just got it wednesday and the 1st one was defective...really long story about how i finally got the second one to work...sooo....) and i will be off to bonaire. I will miss you all, but will have great photos for my gallery when i get back, including underwater photos. YAY! haha. Still haven't packed completly yet. I always stay up all night doing it until i can't move anymore. We have to drive to BWI for a direct flight to Jamaica and then to Bonaire. Well, i best stop rambling.

Oh garry, boo loads on my 2-horse without a problem now. Apparently she walked right in the first go-round. haha. And she is good under saddle. She is coming home soon.

Good bye all. :Hugs: Try not to have too much fun without me. (just kidding). :grouphug:

Bye, jEn! Have fun! Go say hi to my friends at the Donkey Preserve! And don't forget to find the handsome Aussie at Jibe City in Sorobon.

Thank you all for the condolences. FIL passed due to complications from diabeties. Hubby came home Thursday in awful pain so we went up to the Dr's and looks like he has kidney stones and the blood work that came back yesterday shows he has diabeties. This week just keeps getting better. If he doesn't start letting his family take better care of him I'm gonna kick his (you know)!!

Bye, jEn...Have a great time. I know you have been looking foward to this.

A while back you guys were talking about Christmas Trees/decorations for your cabin. I have been on two X-Mas Cruises and both times I brought an old suitcase filled with decorations and went to town decorating my cabin. I think this year, since we have to pack up Christmas Day, I am just going to bring a small tree and skirt and maybe a string of lights. I found a "Wood Light Up Tree" (#IN-95/1241)in a catalog called Terry's Village for $12.95 that I think will do the trick. It's gonna kill me not to decorate the place but I just don't think it is practical giving the day we have to pack up. I think Disney really picked lousy cruise dates on this one.

It's gonna be hot, hot, hot today. I supposed to start cleaning the basement today but I think I'm gonna blow it off and veg out in the pool.

MaryAnn, I have been diabetic for 34 years so I understand about complications, etc. I just went this morning for my quarterly bloodwork. Ugh. I hope you DH adjusts to being diabetic. My SIL is a type II diabetic and she does ok with her pills and watching what she eats. I have been insulin dependent the whole time and am on a pump now, which I love. The folks at DCL are pretty good about dealing with diabetics. The last two cruises they have put sharps containers in the stateroom for me and tell you hubby not to worry, they have great sugar free desserts on DCL too.

Looks like the smilies are back. :cool1:

DD wants to see "March of the Penguins" so we may go see that this afternoon as a bribe for her good behavior while I do some shopping (she HATES to shop). DH is at work today so it will be just us girls. Maybe even a trip to the Disney Store! :cheer2:

An old lady sits on her front porch, rocking away the last days of her long life, when all of a sudden, a Fairy Godmother appears and informs her she will be granted three wishes.

"Well, now", says the old woman, "I guess I would like to be really rich".

****POOF***** Her rocking chair turns to solid gold.

"And gee, I wouldn't mind being a young, beautiful princess"

****POOF**** She turn into a beautiful young woman.

"And, your third wish?", asks the Fairy Godmother. Just then, the old woman's cat wanders across the porch in front of them. "Ooh,- can you change him into a handsome prince?", she asks.

****POOF****

There before her stands a young man more handsome than anyone can possibly imagine. She stares at him, smitten. With a smile, that makes her knes weak, he saunters across the porch and whispers in her ear, "bet you're sorry you had me neutered. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Have a Great Day Everyone.

We have to go to the Dr's again Monday or Tuesday. We'll get the more info then. I know it is to be taken seriously, but other than that, I don't know much about it. I spoke briefly with the Dr Friday and hubby needs to loose some serious weight and suggested gastric bypass. To this point Jim has been totally against it but maybe this will make him more open.

We went to see "Penguins" a few weeks ago. It is truly one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. Be sure to stay for the credits after the movie is over. UNBELEIVABLE!!!

Hi everybody,

Mary Ann I'm sorry to hear about Jim. Dad has diabetes. He has it under control. He too had to lose alot of weight, but hey he's 83 and still has alot of spunk.

For Christmas decor we took a small wreath of real pine and had that in our cabin. I also found pretty window clings to put up on the mirrors.(cat 10 no windows). Will put them on the window this time though. :cool1: I used the pine to help decorate the gifts for our crew members. They enjoyed smelling the fir, considering most of them were from places where fir grows and it reminded them of home. I think I will take lights this time though as well.

LOVE the job. The people are so cool. They can't believe I've been there only a week as I have picked up so much. And they don't have a problem with me leaving for Th, Fri, Mon, Tues, and Weds.

Well off to slay the clothes monster. Paul got the girls out of the house for a while. Much easier to get things done without the family here. Have a great day all.

D

Mary Ann, hopefully the doctor will have some good info for you and hubby. Does he weigh enough that they would consider gastric bypass? That is a very risky surgery. My SIL has a friend who just went through the stomach stapling and has lost LOTS of weight. He started at 640 and is down to 360! He still has about 150 to go but is doing great. He had diabetes but is now completely off the medication for it. Amazing what that loss did apparently.

I am definitely planning on window clings. We have a cat 8 so will have a large window as well as mirrors. I am also wanting to get some of the garland with lights in it to hang around the room. Nothing crazy that will take up lots of room, but enough to make it feel like the holidays!

I am slaying the laundry monster today too. It is so gray outside and it keeps spitting everytime I go out. We have to get to Menards today to get shelves for DD's closet and Mom wants to get birthday gift for my DD so we will have to face that soon.

HAY ALL

Fine! Make me feel guilty! Guess I'll go slay the monster, too.

We were on page 2 again...where is everyone?

I didn't finish my laundry yesterday, I feel so guilty now. I ran to the store and got a shelf for my DD's closet (and it is still in the backseat, DH didn't help get it out like he said it would and it is heavy for me to get out). Then I had dinner to make and cleanup. Then we ran to Wal-Mart because DD decided she wanted to spend her allowance and get a scooter (like the Razor ones) since her friend has one. Ugh. And I have Mom again tonight so I don't know how much I will get done. I REALLY want to get those shelves up but also need to figure out what to do about that closet. The sliding doors don't work well and DD wants a curtain. I am thinking about a bead curtain but need to run to the mall to find one and that won't happen soon unless I do it at lunch. Oh well, a Mommy's work is never done, eh?

Don't feel bad, Kat. I didn't do my laundry either, so I'm doing it today. And supposedly working from home.

We took Jordan's sliding doors off her closet also, and got beads. We got the beads at the mall at Spencer Gifts.....but she didn't leave them on very long. She didn't like that she had to hold them out of the way to get something out of the closet. Now she has no doors on there at all! Oh well.......

Stace, I was thinking about Spencer too! Sam asked if she could have a curtain but I'd rather have the beads than a regular curtain. Actually, I'd rather have the bifold doors than what she has but they won't fit as her bedroom door is too close to the closet. I really don't want this big, gaping hole there so I am just not sure what to do at this point. I guess I will ask her.

Did you see my post about an IM you sent me back in January regarding the room we had on our June cruise (the cat 3)? Small world...

I wish I could work from home. I have the ability but they don't let us do that much unless we have sick kids or something.

I found some great scotch tape with Disney characters on it at Menards yesterday. I got Mickey but they also had princesses and Pooh. No Tinkerbell, though. I got Energizer batteries yesterday, though, that had a Disney pintrading type pin celebrating 50 years of Disneyland. That was cool.

I keep seeing things at the store I think would be neat for the cruise and then have tell myself it is still well over a year away so it is silly to buy things now! DH thinks I am off my rocker. He doesn't even want me to mention it as it is so far off.

Well, back to work...

Hey, Kat....which Cat 3 were you in? I don't remember yesterday, let alone January! Now my search is on for pictures (good ones) or a layout, of one of the mid-ship Cat 3's.

I thought the beads were really cute, and we had them at different lengths...longer on the ends, shorter in the middle. Very creative for me, I thought.

Stace, 8602 was the room we had on the Wonder at the end of June. I liked the space but the cost was more than we can handle for more than the 3 day we took! We had my wheelchair-bound mother with us so we had to have one of the handicap accessible ones.

I saw all the cruises you have coming up. I am SOOOOOO jealous. I wish I had that much vacation time, never mind the money to take that many cruises! Oh well...I have the one next year to look forward to.

We loved the verandah on 8602....but my son had to sleep on the floor....he lived.

One of the cruises is free....and one is being paid for by our business....the others are far enough away to make payments on. So it really isn't as bad as it looks! Being self-employed helps with vacations. I just pay for it when I get back and have to catch up!

The verandah was beautiful and I loved getting up the morning of Castaway Cay and seeing the island and the beach from there but it rained the day we left and the darn thing never really dried off. Mom had the sofa bed so we shared the main bed with Sam. Not the best way to do it but she would NOT sleep on the floor.

I wouldn't mind having a verandah again but we just have a window for the 10 day. I will put the money towards excursions instead!

What do you do for a living, Stace? If you don't mind my asking, that is. I do customer support for our software company. We do accounts receivables software and I specialize in a very specific portion of it and deal with about 20 clients. I enjoy it though there are days I'd definitely rather be working from home.
