12/09/06 Geeks.... Lost, but not forgotten

We got jipped out of the slipper dessert for a poor excuse of a thing in its place.

Lisa, the slipper dessert that we had on the WB was a cake roll of some sort (strawberry I think) that was covered with a purple glaze that appeared to be fish skin. On top of that was a small white chocolate slipper. Although it did not taste bad, we were very disappointed that it was not the chocolate slipper we had seen photos of from the first canal cruise.

Glad you are home and had a good time for the most part.

That's the same pile of mess they served us. The menu the head server showed me the night before had the white chocolate slipper filled with chocolate mousse. We had our Palo resie that night so he showed me the menu then said that he would save us two. The trays were on the desk when we got into the room that night and I was very disappointed.

You guys got Aly and AJ, and all we got was Joey whatshisname (sorry V) and the other guy? We got gypped! I would have stood in line for Aly and AJ!

Too bad about the kids too Lisa - we were so lucky to have most of our group, and I really can't think of any kids from our thread that weren't OK.

Brandi - I thought of you today when my sister called with her oldest starting Jr High and the youngest going to PreSchool. Here Jr High now begins in 6th grade. I truly dislike this change. I liked it when 6 was part of middle. It gives me a stomach ache to think of my 11 year old nephew with 14/15 year olds. He's also tall with broad shoulders so my sister is beside herself that someone will think he is much older and try to get into it with him. Of course what 11 year old boy is going to say they are 11 when people think you are older.

I forgot to mention earlier that now I have dad in the hospital too . . .

On Tuesday I had to call 911 for my dad. He had fallen down during the night going to the bathroom, and had crawled to the phone. Who does he call . . . my brother in the hospital, who then calls my cell phone, that I don't happen to wear in the shower at 6:07. When I finally get the message, I rush over to find him on the floor in front of the door curled up and covering himself with the enrty mat (inside).

No broken bones, blood levels all off, and they had him in medical ICU for tests. His red blood count was really low, which is probably why he fell. So for now I am back to the hospital visit routine, along with my brother in the rehab hospital. Tonight they moved dad to a regular room, but he is not a happy camper. He keeps saying that mom wants him to come and be with her . . .

I've been up trying to get tickets for April cruise - as soon as they became available I checked points seats nothing nada zilch but why would there be with one way being $399! We are so not going on this cruise in April if I can't find something better.

I thought of you when I got in line at noon with K. W & K were actually ok...though no where near perfect...but they know to sit down and listen at the shows. Some of the kids are just horrid! A mom didn't seperate two kids who were fighting front and center during the Beauty and the Beast Broadway performers for 20 minutes. The teens next to us finally left after they wouldn't stop talking and the kids behind us finally finished their noisy bags of pretzles.

I think that all four of us were in need of a break from each other after 3 weeks. By the end of the cruise I was partly glad to be getting off the ship and heading home. The kids spent the first day in their own rooms just being alone...which is great.

Hannah has shown up and it is pouring out there. The schools are letting out at 12:45 today and the bus will drop them off right in front of the house.

Here are some shots from our trip. We went to Universal on 8/16 and because it was a Saturday were able to walk onto a live set for a tv show John & Carla are probably familiar with. FYI the elevator behind us that is on the far right when you are looking at them does not open.

Here is the night backdrop that is used and we spotted something that is probably an inside cast joke on top of one of the buildings.

We were driven around on a private tram

and were able to stop and get off and walk around some areas the regular tour just drives by.

Cartegenia was beautiful! We were the first cruise ship of the season as well as the first visit for the Magic. There were news cameras everywhere. One kept filming W and another was taking pictures.

K celebrated her 8th birthday onboard.

K went down the Mickey slide for the first time on day 4 after being bribed with a webkin. She went down once and that was it. On day 12 she decided to try it again and her and one other girl were the only ones on the slide and she went down almost 50 times. LOL!

What a day....Jason smashed his face at work today. He was straightening out a sign and a brace broke off of the back. With all of the force from him pulling it came up and he smashed it into his nose. It had a bolt on the end. He broke his nose in 2 places and had to get 14 stitches....what a day! To top it off it is my B.Day....one of my friends at work brought donuts. Another made a cake for lunch time. They called me at home at lunch and told me I was missing a great party.....oh the timing!
