Have *fun* at jury duty Jordan. I've been called every year but not had to serve because I have no one to watch my 3 year old. Now our court has day care, which I am not be thrilled about just because they may have screened the people who watch the kids, but I sure haven't, so I'm not comfortable with it. He's still not fully potty trained, so I'm able to avoid it until he is.

Good luck!

Even though I'm not a stay at home mom, I would not like someone else TELLING me that I have to leave my child with some total stranger while I do my duty. Let me make sure everyone know - I have absolutely no problem doing jury duty, but who wants to leave their child with someone they don't know. And what if the children don't like being there OR there is some other child who is picking on your child, etc. etc. etc. I just want to say - yuck!

Okay, stepping off the soap box...

We actually booked for the new Marriott Residence Inn. The site says it is supposed to open in March. I figured by Dec. it should have worked out the kinks and if it isn't open in March/April, I'd book somewhere else. But I got a room w/ 2 queen beds and pull out sofa, kitchen, family room, etc. for $129 a night. We might switch and use some of our Marriott points, but I booked it for the going rate and I thought that was nice considering it isn't just a room. Plus it will be newer.

We've always stayed at the Radisson and we'll miss the pool and stuff, but I couldn't beat that price. And that price was better than a AAA rate. Go figure!

we were going to WDW two days before the cruise like we did this last year but now I am wondering if we should just go to PC and stay over there.

Lisa - how was leaving your car at the hotel? Everything was fine?

We leave on Thursday!! I can't wait!! I had to get the girls costumes out last night! I am hoping it will be warm enough to swim! The weather has been really crazy here in Florida the past few weeks!

Vanessa, the car was fine but we wont be doing that again. It was much better when we parked at the port & had the porter load the bags in the car after getting off the ship. The cost of the Radisson isn't worth it IMO. We will stay somewhere else without parking or the breakfast buffet next time.

Are any of you guys staying at the Hyatt? We are, but the price was $185.00 :scared1: What's a good site to get a better price?
Mark, check and see if you are eligible for any of their discounted rates. I am a federal employee and with my government ID we got our room for $100 last Dec.

Hey, you Spoiled One! I think we are already linked. You did that when you booked. I will check and make sure though. Read the first post in this thread again and send your info to Lisa for the web page! :grouphug: So glad you got back on here.

Two more days of :sunny: here to look forward to :thumbsup2 before more :umbrella: . Only problem is...I go to work before sunup and leave after sundown! Heard we should have lots of :umbrella: this weekend. Oh boy! :sad2:

 :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
It took me three hours to get it done becouse it kept saying page not found, then DH isn't coming with the boys and me to wdw on NOV 29th, but he is coming down on Dec 1st. So I had to book that one differernt also, Then Delta wouldn't register my fly miles act # ect, I ended up booking at $298. as that was about the best price I saw all last year. But hey its done.  Me and the boys get three days of doing whatever we want before DH gets there. They said the first thing they want to do is go see the Lego shop. We wont get in tell 4:20. So I figure we might make it there by 7 or 8. We can have dinner at the sandwich place and do the legos and then hit DQ tell midnight as it will really only be what 8pm our time. Then bed, sounds good to me. Then thursday and prob. friday we will do MK. I just heard that at costa maya we can take a bus to the fishing village and do shopping there at better prices and they have the hand painted shinks.  . My parents are going to redo there bathroom adn I want to get them one. My brother has two in the house they just built. Well I have to read back to page 105 now. Have a great day. Has anyone here been to costa maya yet? Mum

Okay, stepping off the soap box...

I'm in your corner obviously...because I have no idea who these care givers are, even if they're hired by the county, I'm still not comfortable with it and I've told this to several people and they look at me like I'm a CRAZY woman or paranoid.

My oldest was in daycare until he was 2 but it was a daycare I screened and chose so it's not that I have a problem with daycare...it's just like you said, they're telling me to leave my kid there and essentially trust them. Hey, it ain't Disney (little joke) and it's not as if I can excuse myself from jury duty to check on my kid at any time.

Okay, now it's my turn to set off the soap box...

Karen-is it close to the port? Do they have a shuttle? We have Marriott points also, but $129 is not bad to pay!!!

Hi all! :wave2: We are back, but sick and exhausted!! I'm sure I have a lot to catch up on although I did read some during the cruise.

Welcome back!!! :) Can't wait to hear about your experiences. :) Get well soon!

I just quickly went through the posts that I missed and got a little tear in my eyes from all the Happy Birthdays for Dina!! Thank you all so much!! I showed them to her and she was thrilled! :cloud9: She wore her pin b-day pin from the cruise all day, but was very tired and under the weather all day. We will be having a family party for her at the restaurant on Thursday for her. Thanks again everyone!! :grouphug:

Caroline--Glad you're back, rest up and get to feeling better. :flower3:
Can't wait to hear about everything. Thanks for posting while you were gone, sounded like the weather made things interesting.

Welcome back!!!!! Did you have?

Have any of you ever rented a car to get from the port to MCO? Is it complicated and ugly to leave the rental car, mess with luggage, etc.?

We wanted to take DS to Kennedy Space Center after the cruise. The original plan was to fly out of Sanford on Allegiant air, they fly non-stop to Des Moines, but now I find out that their rates and schedule for December won't come out until June or so. Right now Allegiant runs $89 per person per way. We're debating whether we want to go ahead and fly in and out of MCO ($243 per person, one stop flight).

I called my TA last Friday and finally heard back from her yesterday that her father had passed away and she won't be in until Friday. I'm trying figure everything out so I know what to tell her when she comes back to work. It drives me crazy not to have things planned and lined up, and it bothers me even more not to know all my options. Thanks again for listening to an inexperienced traveler ramble on. I need to get another hobby besides being Disney planning obsessed. :)

Hey Mark--
You guys have been awful queit the last few days. Heard anything about the video yet? I like most of the shows produced by Banyan, I think they'd be good at making a Family Fun show.

The producer called and said they got the tape. They also said they would call us back with any news if the show gets picked up.
Yes it has been very quite around here on the west cost side. We have been supper busy!
