Hi all! :wave2: We are back, but sick and exhausted!! I'm sure I have a lot to catch up on although I did read some during the cruise.

Welcome back! Can't wait to hear all the details....pixie dust for better health! :wizard:

Are any of you guys staying at the Hyatt? We are, but the price was $185.00 :scared1: What's a good site to get a better price?

Maybe I'm really cheap but that is a lot of money for one night.

If you are driving there are 100's of hotels within an hour's drive much cheaper. One year we stayed just past Kissimmee in a name brand hotel for $40. It had everything I need for a good night's sleep. (I really don't need a chocolate on my pillow)
:confused3 :hippie:

I'm with you, Brack! :) I just added your info to the website. Check your pms for the link.

We stayed at the Hyatt Sat after the cruise because we had a 6 am flight Sun morning. Way too early! That means we had to be at the airport by 4:30 or so. I figured if we had to take a shuttle from another hotel we might as well not even try to sleep. We didn't have a car, so adding the cost of a rental car and the time to turn it in would be a pain too. Sometimes I am willing to pay a bit more for convenience and :teeth: sleep.

Hi guys,

Between the school board, the puppy, and union negotiations, I have been out of commission for a few days. You guys did not disappoint me - you've been busy as usual.

Stacie - renting a car at MCO is really easy. We use Budget because it is on site at the airport, and if you get signed up for fast break, no need to wait in line to get your car. They have an office at the port, and the only downside can be the lines there to rent or return.

No need to leave the car while you are gone. We rent for one day to get to the port, turn it in, and then rent to return to WDW or MCO after the cruise. Last time I actually got a coupon for a free day, and my rental to the port was FREE!

Don't remember if I posted here, but we did not have a good experience at the Radisson. DW filled out their survey, and they actually refunded our $$$ - which was nice of them, and unexpected. I doubt we will stay there again though. We will be staying at WDW with our DVC points both before, and after the cruise.

Windy Windy Windy here - so since the last time I checked in, it moved from you West Coasters to us here.

Nice smiles. I like this one - :hippie: being a baby boomer, I remember this era well.

Good night everyone!

John

DH and I were both from the :hippie: era, but neither of us were really :hippie: . He played in a country band in Montana in 1969. They didn't allow none of those long hairs in Montana in those days. :lmao: :rotfl2:

WOW! This has to be a record for the negotiations, John. :( Does Albertson's sale affect anything for you? Is Vanessa's DH the one who works for them?

This new routine is getting to me. I came downstairs after DD fell asleep & found the front door cracked open about an inch. The phone was right there so I called a friend who yelled at me to hang up & call 911. When she said that I remembered that I had locked the glass door & had the front door open earlier. The glass door was still locked. We had been outside & talking to the neighbors then came in thru the garage since the kids were soaking wet from playing in the puddles & the door was locked. I didn't go beyond the kitchen until I took the kids up to bed. One of them must have pushed the door partly closed at some point. I checked all the closets & garage with her on the phone just to reasure her. I am so use to DH taking care of the door. I guess that we wont be letting the afternoon light in the front door. I guess that isn't as bad as the night DH was gone last year & I left the keys in the door overnight. :( I didn't find them until I was searching the next morning & DS opened the door to find them hanging there. I keep our guardian angels busy.

Good night all!

We are flying in the day before the cruise. What do you suggest? That is the hotel we have stayed at the two times before. We have transfers from the airport. What do you guys think we should do?
Mark

With transportation from the airport you will want to stay nearby. There are some hotels that have free shuttles to the airport. Best Western has one nearby that we stayed at once. It is only a clean place to sleep though. They do have a free shuttle that you could get from and then back to the airport.

I'm not sure where we are staying. I have ressies at VWL for S-Th prior to cruise. I hope to change those to OKW, but can't book there until 7 months before the stay. We own at VWL so I could book there at 11 months to ensure we have a place to stay, but we REALLY want a Grand Villa at OKW. There are 12 of us. If we get OKW we will probably just stay there thru Fri, if not we will probably stay at a hotel near the port. :confused3 OKW is fewer points than VWL. Fridays and Saturdays are quite a bit more than weekdays too.

Wow I just read that Disney bought Pixar!! That's interesting.
That really is interesting. Remember when they stopped working with Disney and went out on their own? There was talk at that time that it would hurt Disney's animation film arena. I think not though.

Lisa-I feel your pain. DH travels a ton for work. At first it was really hard for me. Even with the house alarm on I'd hear a noise and couldn't sleep. And yep, there were the nights that I'd come down in the morning and find the back door unlock and then remember one of the kids had gone into the backyard to play or something. I normally check the locks but sometimes there's so much to do when he's gone that my routine goes out the door. No I'm sorta (not fully) used to it. It is very hard though, so I know what you're going through!

Hang tough girl!

Good morning all! We are ok this morning. :) I had to email my friend so that she doesn't worry about us. I should have called the police right away but I didn't want to look stupid if it was something odd like what ended up happening. I thought about it last night though & next time I am going to look stupid & be sure. This is week 2 so we are doing better with a bedtime routine...not great but better. I am hoping that DD will want to sleep in her room after I get the Princess stick ups from Home Depot when I pick up the windows in a week or so. DS wants a space room & he insists on Buzz so DD asked for the princess ones. The stuff that I got from target was on clearance so didn't cost much & it wont hurt to just toss it & put up what I really wanted to begin with...but they didn't have at the time.

Karen-is it close to the port? Do they have a shuttle? We have Marriott points also, but $129 is not bad to pay!!!

Lisa W.

Lisa - since they will be brand new, I'm not sure about a shuttle. They are down in Cocoa Beach....but I thought they were still reasonably close to the port. We have a rental car so the shuttle wasn't critical.

Perhaps we need to post the question to Shirley on the regular boards.

OMG!!!!! Isn't that scary!!!! And why does it always happen when the hubbys are away?!!!

Glad you guys are okay. Aren't you going up for a visit soon?

Okay everyone, I'm non-functional this morning and I just figured out why....I only had 3 hours of sleep last night. Got to bed at 11...woke up at 2...couldn't get back to sleep. I think I'm stressing over my carnival next week. I should have stayed home and slept!!!

YYYAAAAWWWWNNNNN!!!!!
