LOL! Somehow I don't think that Vanessa's little girls will care about that. :) It may have worked on my DD5 though. Look at it this way though...most of the laundry is summer clothes that we wont be wearing anytime soon. ;) I considered moving it out to the garage to freeze for a couple weeks.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: I like both Karen's and Lisa's suggestions for the laundry! I got mine done from the cruise last night. Was just DH and I though, so I only had 3 loads. :)

Speaking of laundry....our stateroom was right down the hall from the laundry on deck 7. On Thursday afternoon there were some folks there with huge bags of laundry waiting and waiting for washers. (this one is gonna be done in 23 minutes!) One lady commented "who wants to get home and have to do a bunch of laundry?" Another agreed with her. Now, I thought to myself, "who wants to spend the last sea day of your $$$$ cruise sitting in a small laundry room?" Different strokes, I guess.

I feel the same way....there will be plenty of time when I get home...especially when we're inside on those snowy days.

Another idea - disposable clothes....I have a friend who literally goes thru her closet and picks clothes that she throws away once she is done. Last time she went to London, we laughed at the idea of her maid at the hotel each time she saw the outfit (underwear and all!) in the trashcan.

Unforutnatley this approach doesn't work for me. I usually buy a whole new wardrobe for the cruise and throwing them away after wearing them one time just wouldn't work!! :rotfl:

Is everyone ready for Christmas? Only three more days!!!!! I am now all done all the toys are put together and presents rapped. Have a wonderful day.
Merry Christmas,
Mark

Not at all ready for Christmas. I still need to put the tree up and wrap presents. Tonight....I'll do it tonight! :rotfl: I don't have to work tomorrow, so I will have some time to do the wrapping then. We plan to drive up to Washington State on Saturday to visit my family and deliver their gifts. Sunday and Monday will just be around home.

Now there's a new approach! But I'm like you, I buy a new wardrobe for my vacation, or at least many new items. Of course, by the time I get off the ship after 7 days, NOTHING FITS ME!!!! because I ate too many Mickey bars.... :rotfl2: I can only imagine what would happen on a 10 or 14 day cruise!!!

Lisa

I agree with you Angie! We did laundry once on our first cruise...two loads the morning in St. Maarten while DH went snorkling. DS was in the club & DD & I just walked around the pier venders then went up to the pool. We had gone to WDW for 3 days before the cruise so there was a bunch of clothes to wash by then. I didn't have to wait for them though & noone else was around yet. Now I start packing on Tuesday. :) We fill up the hamper under the desk and I put it all in a suitcase when it is full. Thursday I went thru our clothes that were left & put aside the outfits we would wear to WDW on Saturday, dinner clothes for Friday & Thursday, & swim suits & coverups for CC. Everything else was packed away. Friday night when we got ready for dinner everything else was packed up. We only had to pack up a few things to take with us Saturday morning. No stress Friday night! I will do it this way from now on! :)

As far as Christmas goes, everything was ready for that before we left for the cruise so now I can just sit back & wait for Sunday morning. These kids are driving me nuts though. I took them to Lowe's & Harris Teeter this morning & that took us nearly 2 1/2 hours. UGH! We ran into lots of people we knew & they were caught in action so were told by many that Santa wouldn't come if they didn't stop acting up.

This time I didn't feel the need to order something from every course or finish everything on my plate like I have in the past. On Semiformal night I only ordered a small salad (which I ended up not eating), 2 lobster tails, and the lava cake. :) There were a couple nights were I skipped the apps & only ate half of my entree because there were two deserts that I wanted to try. IMO having Goofy's Galley there now is a GREAT way to eat better on the ship for lunch. I only went to topsider's on Sunday for the buffet lunch. The other days I got a panini & fresh fruit at GG.

The last load of laundry just went in the washer!!!! :) :) :) Another is in the dryer. I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! LOL! Dusting & vacuuming are on the list for tomorrow. I swear that once I get this house back in shape & have the pictures are adjusted for red eye & ordered the prints, I am making up the door signs for this cruise & addressing the Christmas Cards for next year. ;)

Lisa,

I'm going to tell Amy on you . . . '06 Christmas cards already!

Just when we thought that we would escape without any family illness this time, Sophia came down with a sinus infection. We took her to the doctor today, and started the heavy antibiotics.

Seems like this is the price we pay for every vacation with the adjustment from the north to the tropics and back again. Doesn't seem to matter how many of those sanitary wipes DCL hands out on the cruise - one of us is bound to come down with something and pass it along.

LOL! Well, I kept my promise this past cruise but was too rushed at the end. I'm just putting the addresses on the envelopes NOT sending them out! ;) I am glad that DS is the only one dealing with anything and at this point the rest of us should be safe. It was stressful enough before the cruise with DD getting sick before we left & then me worrying about if I was going to be well by the time we boarded. I sure hope that we can enjoy Christmas this year without being ill. I could barely keep my eyes open while the kids opened their gifts last year. :(

I am glad to hear that all of the 12/05 cruisers had a wonderful time.

Here's wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Good morning everyone! Now I guess you know why those of us on the 12/10 cruise didn't post very much on this thread before the cruise. It took alot to keep up with the posts on that thread. LOL! We are quite the chatty bunch. :) DD informed me that there are only 2 more days until Christmas when she woke me up this morning. :)

Good morning! :umbrella: We did get the Christmas tree decorated last night and had our ritual glass of eggnog. Yum! Today I will tackle the gifts. I send many blessings for whoever thought of those gift bags! :teeth: Of course, checking in with the DISers comes first. :rotfl:

Yes mine also!!!! "Daddy its only one more night till Santa comes!!!!!"
I love this time of year.

Amy and I finished our "last minute" shopping last night. Now she only has to go to the grocery store today for the food for the company tomorrow. This afternoon I have to go out to visit the stores to make sure they are all in good shape and that everyone is taking good care of customers.

A Blessed and Merry Christmas to everyone!

John
