LOL! Last night I saw that there were only 6 more posts left to go. I went to bed at 9:10 pm...unheard of usually! ;) My headache was gone in the morning thank goodness...and it wasn't because of the boards at all. It was just a bad day with everyone from PTO to teachers sounding ungrateful for everything at once. Too much going on & not organized enough for me but....oh well. I'm not going to be around if it is last minute.

On a good note we started collecting our furdraiser orders today & we were there all day long checking orders & counting money. We are at $7990 so far!!! It is one of the best ever & we went out on a limb against what the PTO president & some others wanted to do. :) :) :)

Tomorrow is a half day & after the morning at the school working on the fundraiser & other PTO things I will be cleaning the house because DH is catching the train to come home for a quick trip. :) The kids are excited! We are just going to stay home. It's been 2 months...6 more weeks to go. This is getting really old. :(

Cant believe Angie is so close...and yet so far away. I have been soooooooooooooo busy lately. I am trying to cut back at work and spend more time figuring out my next career direction, but it seems like I am busier than ever....I may not even get to see Angie and Dennis this time around :guilty:

Gotta go....Oh and I am definitely a dog person.

Way to fundraise Lisa! :cheer2: Hang in there 'til your "baby" gets home. I understand there are sitters on the cruise. :love2:

Welcome back Spoiled brats. It's good to know I'm not the only one who had to drop out for a while.

Good luck with that career direction Jordan. The answer is probably where you aren't looking for it.

I have a new goal to keep me entertained until Dec 9. I want to do a little something everyday to get ready. Today I worked on a door decoration.

Good night.

Hi everyone! Just checking in after our marathon of soccer practices. It's just my luck that the boys practices are scheduled back to back with hardly any breathing room inbetween.

Well, hope everyone is doing well and I'm sending Mark prayers for his New Life trip!

Did any of you ever have a bad experience with the kids clubs? I was just reading a trip report thread and there were some very negative comments from one person. I have often read lots of good stuff I was just wondering if any of you had a bad experience. My son will be starting preschool in the fall and that will be his first time away from us. He is always with my husband or I or one of our parents. I am even his Sunday School teacher, he leads a bit of a sheltered life......

I've never had a problem. I'm sure there are problems, but not like that poster described. I had to wonder if the post was 100% legit. I even questioned other details about their report. Not sure why some people feel the need to bash with out justification. I can't imagine it makes them feel better about themselves. Now I'm not trying to bash the poster...they might have had some bad/rough times.

If you read the DonaldDuckFan (I think that is his Dis name) thread- the one about the myths and miscommunications of the children's clubs, there is someone who talks about biting...well, maybe that original poster with the bad experience was the biter family and they were just really mad that the clubs weren't kind to their biting child and they had a vendetta.

I don't know - but bottom line - the clubs arent' perfect, but if you read the majority of the posts, people are happy with the clubs and the CMs in the clubs. You'll always get the few families who don't like it - but if you read some of the repsonses to that post, even families who were on the same cruise didn't have that same experience.

Different strokes for different folks.

Okay Lisa - I'll ask you too - what was your fundraiser? That's a great amount. Way to go!!!

Now - get that house cleaned and enjoy DH's visit. Sorry the rest of the school and PTO stuff is getting you down. I can relate. Hang in there!

Hugs!!!!!
Karen

Okay - just me...sitting here all alone...playing nicely!!

HAPPY St. Patty's day!! Where is our shamrock smiley????????

Lisa - great job with the fundraiser! Our PTO started this year flat broke with over 5 grand in debt. The treasurer stole all of the money and sent bad checks to pay for the end of year stuff. They actually pressed charges and she was sent to prison earlier this school year. It was a bad situation. Her kids still go to the school. I don't think there will be any field trips this year. They are such nice boys, they should not have to deal with that sort of bad mothering. Since I started my maternity leave I have been out of the school loop but I know they have been fundraising maniacs!

That is just sickening! :( I can't imagine those kids working so hard & being cheated out of their money. :( Someone in JAX here in NC did the same thing.

This one is Zap Snack. http://www.zapasnack.com/ We are up to 8600 and there were some orders turned in right before we left at noon. Other moms were outside and told me that they will bring their orders in on Monday...the absolute last day to turn them in. Usually they only sell 4000 or so in the spring so this one is blowing everyone out of the water. :) We are definitely doing it next year! :) Some people looked at it at first & said that it was too expensive. I coupon shop & stockpile & I bought a bunch of it. The cinnimon rolls are fantastic! They end up costing 1.40 each(10 for 14). They have breakfast sandwiches just like McD's for 2.25 (6 for 13). The french bread pizzas are 2.00 each in 6 packs. They have 30 oz cheese cakes for 18 too. The best part for the kids is that most FRs give a prize for the number of items sold. The child will receive one thing. With this company they give that item as a prize...along with EVERY prize for the lower items!!! ALSO...for every 12 items that you sell, you get a free food item. I chose the $18 cheesecake. :)

Goodness, this is hard having so much cleaning to do here & the internet being up. That darn connection is still on & off even with the ohm blocker & special splitter. I guess that DH will be listening to me whining about that this weekend...along with the motion sensor lights outside that I want him to put up. ;) I have tackled the dining room & living room and am working on the kitchen. The bathrooms will be a battle...why 3 of them???? The family room will be the last thing that I tackle. I am hoping to be done soon after dinner & get into chat tonight. I haven't been able to the past couple weeks because the connection was down at that time. :( Off to do more cleaning!

BuzzBoyMom and other DoubleDips,
Jump rope for heart is an American Heart Association fundraiser. If you go to this site, it is my DS (Lucas-11) donor page:
http://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=130785&supId=122432021

He has until 3/21/06 to gather donations online and here at home Chehalis,WA. Anyone can donate!! Then the kids get "cool" things. It's really fun. Our P.E. teacher holds the activity after school. This way the kids are volenteering their own time, which is a bit more than just giving money and getting toys. They learn to give to the community. It's only actually 1 hour long, but all the kids that perticipate feel good for doing it. Plus the whole school doesn't have to do it if they don't want to.

DD's school used to Jump rope for Cancer now they jump for a new Gym floor. The PE teachers always organized it using a simple pledge form. The kids would jump in memory of, or recognition of, someone special.

Today's countdown project. I rolled $20 in quarters for laundry money. I hope I don't need it all!

Hi all!

Poor Haley has a double ear infection and is wheezing....won't make for a fun weekend. The weather here has been gorgeous..sorry I don't seem to visit much!

Hope Haley is feeling better soon. (((HUGS))) Girl I just read your trip report so I know what you have been busy with. LOL! I could just hear you saying that. ROFL! How is DH doing? Has he had his surgery yet?

We have false sunshine :sunny: today! It looks beautiful but it is FREEZING and WINDY!!! I have been a cooking nut this morning. :stir: Eliza is being baptized on Sunday and there are about 55 people coming for lunch after church. We both have big families - they are all relatives. I thought I would sneak a few min. in with my computer. Then I need to do some cleaning - blah :crazy2:

Lisa - I hope you are enjoying your husband being home! :lovestruc
