Thanks for all the birthday greetings! mhelsley, we share a birthday. Very cool!

John, you stay off the boards forever, then sneak in and pirate: 2700! :thumbsup2 Very good to see you back on the boards!

Wendy, we arrive at Grand Californian at 11:30 am on Thursday and leave there at noon on Sunday. Brack is going to meet up with us Thursday. Our time with the kids is obligated Friday morning until noon and Saturday afternoon until around 5. They perform from 4-4:25 at the Carnation Plaza. Saturday is a blackout day. We are planning to turn our hoppers in for APs, and my understanding is that we will have to pay an extra $20 to get in on that blackout day. We plan to come back down Memorial Day weekend (driving Fri and Sat) and will be at the parks Wed and Thurs of that following week, plus a week in July. All the July days at the parks will be during the week also, so we thought we will save several $$ if we convert to APs.

Mum, can you tell me where that warehouse store is in Spokane? I would love to browse there when we are in the area.

mhelsley, I just turned 56. My forties were my favorite decade so far! Hope that will give you something to look forward to. I'm hoping that my second half of my fifties decade will be good also. We had several struggles during the first half, but hopefully those have all resolved.

Stone Mtn Park should be beautiful in early April. Plan to walk to the top of the mountain. It's an easy 1 1/2 mile climb with a great view. You'll see why we like to call Atlanta the "city of trees". With any luck you will be there in time for the azaleas and dogwoods to be in bloom.
We were thinking of taking the skytram up...we are old and out of shape! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I am hoping that the dogwoods will be in bloom.

Have you ever had lunch at the boarding house there? I'm looking for sweet tea and fried chicken!

We plan to go to either Home Depot or Lowes this weekend and purchase 2 doors. We have sliders now that are worn out, and I think I want to get French doors to replace both of them. I'm excited. :Pinkbounc We've needed them for a long time. We have replaced the roof, flooring, heat pump, stove and deck over that last couple of years. Our house was built in 1978 so it was time for everything to get redone. The doors and then some landscaping will hopefully be our last projects before we sell in a year or so.

Well haven't posted in awhile DH's job went bye bye and that put the trip on the chopping block so being on the boards wasn't good for me. I'm just happy to report that he's got a new job and one he really likes to boot and with only a small cash down time cruise is back on. He started this week and i was looking forward to my b'day(3/10)but as usual it's turned into a mess sometimes i really feel that it's cursed and i'm really starting to dread this time of year. I'm giving serious:headache: :scratchin to running away from home next year for my b'day maybe a dose of Disney magic pixiedust:would change my luck. So is this just a  idea to return so soon. I've always wanted a Disney birthday and next year i hit the big 40. Thanks for letting me vent as it does help.

Hey Welcome back...I just wanted to share that for my 40th birthday (ouch) which was last year, we were on the Magic on one of the west coast cruises. It was one of the best birthdays ever. I figured if I was turning 40, I wanted to be at the happiest place on earth (or in the case, ON the happiest place on earth). So, give the idea of running away to Disney for you 40th a serious thought! :thumbsup2

You think you have spring weather? It is 79 outside right now & it is only suppose to go up over the next couple days. I had to take shorts out for the kids but mine are packed away in the cedar closet. :( Try keeping the kids inside where I can keep an eye on them while it is so nice outside. UGH! I got most of the border off DS's room & took out all of the furniture to wipe down the walls & trim. The biggest pain now is to get the glue off of the wall where I cut out the cars from the border & had to use elmer's to put them up since they were too small to just use the wallpaper paste on the back. :( I took down DD's artwork wall & the double sided stickies are not coming off the wall. :( The DIF isn't working either so I guess that I need to get some gou be gone & try that. I did find out that we painted the outlet covers so.....I should be able to take one of those in to get it color matched. :) We are putting off lunch for a bit since the kids took so long to eat their pancakes this morning. I guess that I had better get back to DS's room. Are we having fun yet?

Well i'm doing better after a good nights sleep but i'm about 80% decided that i will runaway next year even if i have to go solo. DH won't have any vacation time to go after our Xmas trip.

Lisagraves: Have fun decorating the kids rooms. I love the picture under your signature with your children silhoette style in the porthole window.

I have a question for all: Who dressing up for pirate night and whatcha gonna wear? pirate:

Melinda(aka Capt. Prudentilla Kidd)

Melinda - My whole family is dressing for pirate night. My hubby will be wearing a Jack Sparrow Costume. The rest of us do not have the things we need yet. I figure we still have some time.

Lisa - Have fun with the rooms. We just did our son's room in Thomas the Tank Engine. It looks great! There is nothing as nice as fresh paint and new "stuff" to make a room nice!

Angie - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Are Any Of you staying at the Raddison the night before the cruise?

I am updating the website now so you will be able to see everyone's plans...at least the ones who have sent them to me so far. :) We did that last cruise...wont again. IMO overpriced & the shuttle was very unorganized. John's family had to deal with food in the bed when they pulled down the sheets & had to wait for someone to change the beds. :(

I just updated the website & sent an email to everyone on the cruise list. If you don't receive something from me, PLMK. :)

Angie,
Actually, I can barely drag myself up the mountain either. I have a health nut friend that climbs several times each weekend then walks around it. She also thinks cruises are boring, Go figure.

The tram will give you a really great view of the carving and a good idea of how large it actually is.

I haven't eaten at the park in years and years. I usually take a picnick. Or is that picknick? Pack a lunch?

Sorry I haven't posted in a long while...... life is busy. have been reading though so not to get too far behind.Three classes (all I can say right now is SPring Break!! :rotfl2: ), basketball just ended, but softball is beginning. I am coaching again and am now on the board for our Little League. Tryouts, registrations, meetings, oh my! :teeth:

I have also been talked into coaching DD 7's soccer team again, as long as the other coach can still run practices. He just can't make it to games.

Dance recital will be coming up in May so extra practices will be starting soon, the rehearsals, dress rehearsals.....

Luckily our GS cookie sale ENDED last week!! And we got rid of all of our cookies!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: They did really well too! DH is quite pleased to have them out of the house! But there has been a little trouble with one of the mom's who wants to be my co-leader. Too much to get into, but such drama with some!

Hmmm what else?!? Our addition is being put up. Looks like I won't be able to talk DH to go on our Bermuda cruise though. Something about money for the garage :confused3 :guilty: I just think we so need to get away by ourselves. Final payment is still 2 weeks away so I will have to see what I can do ;)

I am also seriously considering on going on the Med cruise next year....on the repo coming back. DH is from Egypt and would love to spend the summer there with all of us. Last summer he took the two older girls there for a month, but I am just so done with flying. It has always been an issue, but I sucked it up too many times and I haven't been back for 4 years now. I was thinking of taking another cruiseline over, just me and DD 3, DH and girls coming over after school, staying the summer, traveling europe on the way to the boat and come back in time for school. But now I am thinking I may be able to handle the flight over and take the boat back. It would be just too hard going over in May with DD and figuring how to get to Egypt from France or Spain!! :teeth: I really do need to decide so I can jump on the phone and computer when the ressies open. Plus I will have to see the prices :rolleyes1 It just works ut so well with timing since other lines don't come back to the states until Oct usually.

Sorry for rambling :lmao: I will so try to post more. Happy Bithday to all that I missed, including my own DD's!!!! :lmao:

And Lisa, I hope nothing else happens to startle you while DH is away. But after you are done your DKs' rooms, want to come to my house and do mine?? :teeth:

Hi Angie!

Ok, thanks for the update - I'll have to see what we can do - probably Saturday is the only day we'd be able to go since we work Thurs-Fri. Jordan might be able to meet up though since he has more flexible hours - I think he's off on Thursday... or maybe I'll have him take Erin to the park on Friday to meet up with you. Hee hee. Hmmm, that's a thought. Maybe we could drive down after work on Friday and meet up. Hm. I'll have to think about it and coordinate with Jordan. I'm sure he'll be in touch and let you know.

Angie, you might want to ask to see if you can upgrade your hopper anytime during the trip, or if it has to be on the first day you use it... because I think if you were to buy a one day pass on a blackout day, and then upgrade to an AP that has blackout days, I'm not sure if you have to pay the extra $20 on that first day.

Therefore, if you can upgrade your pass on, say, Saturday - maybe they won't charge you the extra $20. Just a thought. I'm assuming you're getting 4 day hoppers (Thurs-Sun)?

wendy

Thanks for the tips, Wendy. I'll ask if we can upgrade at anytime. They are 4 day passes.

Wendy, I will pm my cell phone # to you. Then whenever you can get there we can hookup for a bit.
