Hi all! I hope everyone had a great day. We have been sick at our house. Only 30 min till Survivor. I like that show..... :thumbsup2

You should like this show too. :) Enjoy! I have been flipping between skating & Survivor then Dancing with the Stars then Grey's Anatomy all night. Now the final skaters are on so even though I already know the results, I will watch just that. :) I enjoy watching a good program. Tonight DD told me that she wants to ice skate, then she said that she wants to watch the people ice skate. :) :) :) I can't wait until she finds out that she will be doing just that this weekend! :)

I took DS back to the doctor's today. It turns out that he was misdiagnosed again! :( I am so tired of this. He has been given amoxil twice in the last 2 months when he didn't need it. Our regular doctor saw him this afternoon & has put him on zithromax to try & knock this out. She said that it was something that could develope into pneumonia if let go. UGH! It starts with a "p". If he doesn't get better by next Friday I am taking him back & they will start tests. The first thing that she wants to check for is asthma. OY! :( Thank goodness he went to sleep easily tonight. :)

God bless everyone, have a great night! Sleep tight!!

Penny

Lisa, pixie dust and prayers for you little guy. Also for your family Mark. I think we have kicked the stuff around here.

:cold: BRRR. Temperature dropping by the hour here. This front is coming from the east, from Canada....Penny, did you send this our way? :worried:

Wow Lisa! That whole thing sounds like a nightmare. I'm sure he'll get better soon and I'll be sure to keep him in our prayers. It's rough when they're sick for that long especially when they're kids and want to play. I'm sure it's even harder for you with DH being gone! Hang in there!

Greetings to all! I have had trouble keeping up with all of you lately - we are a chatty group!

Buzzboymom (and others interested in Residence Inn) I have stayed at several and must say - it is my favorite hotel. Lots of room and great breakfast! That is a fantastic rate you got - about half the usual.

Yes - breakfast is hot and made in their own kitchen - the cooks are always out mingling, taking care of special orders, etc. Good variety - self-serve style, but more like eating at a breakfast set out in a friend's house. Usually a fireplace in the breakfast room and quite homey.

Like Disney - REsidence Inn seems to train (or choose) its staff to be extra friendly. My DD was staying at one last year, and had to get an early cab to the airport. The person from the desk came outside where she was waiting and brought her a bag of breakfast foods wrapped in foil (bagel, muffins, fruit, etc.) - without her asking. He went back into the kitchen and got it for her because their buffet was not open yet.

They take care of their guests.

Thanks for the info!!!! I'm set!!

Good morning all! Checking in before I do the packing & hunting for the kid's GBA stuff for the trip. :)

The good thing about DS is that he doesn't feel sick...except his throat hurts from all the coughing. :( He has been running around with his friends & going after his sister just like always.

Happy Birthday, Sophia!!!

Happy Birthday Sophia...here's some pixie dust coming your way.... pixiedust:

Well, now it's my turn with a sick child...hey, are we passing it around here on this thread? Just kidding. Normally I wouldn't be up at this hour (6am) but my oldest was home from school yesterday with a fever. He slept most of the day and came downstairs to watch TV around 2am. At 4am I checked on him and he was ready to fall asleep again but wanted to stay on the couch. At 4:30am I hear him calling me with shear panic in his voice...he had just vomited all over the couch. He was more upset that it was all over the couch than the fact he was sick, poor kid. Now he's in bed all cleaned up but I have no idea how to clean my couch. I took the slip covers off and cleaned with cushions with ammonia and water, and then a shot of febreeze. I'm taking a chance and will wash the slip covers on the ultra delicate cycle, cold water in my washing machine and will air dry. I thought about hand washing but there is no possible way, without getting too graphic...it's a job for a washing machine. Hopefully it won't ruin the cushion covers. As I see it, I don't have a choice.

The joys of motherhood...my next task to to ensure the rest of us don't get sick too. UGH!

I have washed our cushion covers on delicate many times for the same reason. ;) They are in good shape. Don't put them in the dryer though!!! That's where there would be a problem. Contact a dry cleaner about the cushions themselves if they don't seem to get clean. Future reference...whenever the kids aren't feeling well & sleep on the couch I always cover it with blankets & lots of beach towels or big bath towel. It's much easier to wash load after load of towels. ;)

Hope he feels better soon!

Well it good to know you've had success with machine washing the covers. The cushions appear to have gotten clean with the ammonia (sniff test). Lessons learned, I should have put a blanket down but I was half asleep and my kids are so rarely sick that I don't think about taking precautions. Next time I will be better prepared. Oh well!

I read on another thread that some people have gotten computer viruses from downloading disney fonts from a website. I know our computer got a terrible virus a while a go and now I have to wonder!!!

Does anyone know of a safe website to get disney fonts so I can make my door signs this weekend?

Thank You for the Birthday Wish. I wish I could get on DIS more often. Hope your DD doesn't get too sad. What an awful feeling. Give her a  for DrHug.
When I was 6 there was a girl from Texas who was staying with her Dad for the summer who would babysit and play games with all of us little kids. Anyway, when she had to go back home I cried for 3 days. I still remember the feeling. Not good. Then, not too long after that, my Dad left for the Army and the Korean War.....Yikes. No wonder I cry at sad movies Ang! :sad2: The point is, I sympathize. Time goes by so slowly when you are young.
