Greetings to all! I have had trouble keeping up with all of you lately - we are a chatty group!

Buzzboymom (and others interested in Residence Inn) I have stayed at several and must say - it is my favorite hotel. Lots of room and great breakfast! That is a fantastic rate you got - about half the usual.

Yes - breakfast is hot and made in their own kitchen - the cooks are always out mingling, taking care of special orders, etc. Good variety - self-serve style, but more like eating at a breakfast set out in a friend's house. Usually a fireplace in the breakfast room and quite homey.

Like Disney - REsidence Inn seems to train (or choose) its staff to be extra friendly. My DD was staying at one last year, and had to get an early cab to the airport. The person from the desk came outside where she was waiting and brought her a bag of breakfast foods wrapped in foil (bagel, muffins, fruit, etc.) - without her asking. He went back into the kitchen and got it for her because their buffet was not open yet.

They take care of their guests.

Hey there everyone! What a day! This should be interesting. I finally got tired of DS's cough & filled the Rx for Atuss that the doctor gave me last week. He is still coughing after a week of antibiotics. :( He took it at 7 pm & was tired before that. He is still upstairs jabbering...at least he isn't coughing now. :( :( :( I have an appointment for him tomorrow after school to get checked out. We need to catch the 2:29 train on Friday. I would rather not have to sit there & have to listen to him coughing the entire 4 hours.

Ok guys here she is at her party!!!

look at the fist....

this is with MY sister the ex CM and what could be better than Disney $$?

OMG - look at the fist again??!!!

Thanks for looking!!

Hello all, I copied that from the CB...sorry I have been MIA here....it's been hard to come over here.....not sure why??!!!

Happy late Vday everyone! Not much going on here. We decided we aren't going to the AP Braves suite game...big BUMMER for me...but instead, joyfully, (acording to DH) we can hit a few Indians ST games...in fact we already have tix! No, As of the last 5 years I do, like the Indians - so I am fine with that....but I love the "suite" deal, maybe next year. I hope everyone had a great Vday.....

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY HUSBAND.......he played in a softball tournament Saturday, Haley's party was Sunday...which left me to clean and set up ALONE with TWO children who are over joyed with undoing everything I have just done. He come shome HURT.....blown out knee....ok, worthless at the party, goes to the ER on Monday, supposed to play ball on Tuesday and since they are short players because most THOUGHTFUL husbands planned AHEAD and called off the game to do something nice for their DW's my DH decides to play first with a BUM LEG!!!
"oh I can just stand there and then hit"......WHATEVER!!

Happy Vday to me!!

But he did show up after the game with roses and 2 bottles of chapagne....guess he figured it would take two~!

We are happy here tonight. Aaron has come to visit for a few days! :grouphug: He and his daddy (DS) are going to be in a wedding Saturday and will stay to visit until Monday. So nice to get to hug them again. Phoenix is so far away!

This is for those of you who have little wrestlers in your house, or were wrestlers. I saw a bumper sticker that had me :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: It read, "Wrestling is what MEN do during BOYS basketball season" :lmao:

Good Morning!
:sunny: and cold here today. I think we will need to turn the heater on in the pump house tonight as it is supposed to be down in the teens. Would really hate to have busted pipes! :(

Hey all--

:welcome: Welcome Klineyqueen! what a nice Valentine's surprise.

Lisa and Angie--Hope everyone stays well, how very scary. Is it the kind of menningitis that you can't get vaccinated for?

I haven't been on for a couple of days. If being without a laptop isn't bad enough, our Internet service was down yesterday.

Tuesday was busy, helped at school and then a Girl Scout leaders meeting, and DS orchestra concert. There were flowers and pastries on the counter when I woke up, and part of the laundry was folded. Not a Disney cruise but I'll take it any day. Yesterday was the kids day to get out of school early (teacher in-service) and we went to a sledding park with the church group, always a lot of fun but cold and a late night, the park is an hour away.

The kids are home from school today. We got freezing rain throughout the night and now we have 3-5 inches of snow on the way. Is it bad to hope for a snow day tomorrow too?

Hope everyone has a good day!!

They don't have required vacs for menningitis...at least they didn't for either of my kids. Once they have been exposed to it, it's pretty much too late to get one though. They still haven't made the official announcement. They said that the boy died of flu like symptoms & the teacher's illness isn't related. They wont release the teacher's name or diagnosis & they lied saying that parents were notified of the death & illness. The people across the street didn't know until I told them.

AHH!!! I just got back from the spa! A friend treated me to a facial as a thankyou for covering for her with PTO duties when she was out of town taking care of her father. WOW! It is hard for me to sit & relax but I really enjoyed myself. :) Now back to reality...laundry, packing, groceries. :(

Hi everyone! I remember someone mentioning they've stayed at the All Stars Movies resort several times in the past. Originally we were going to stay at the AKL but we're looking at cutting our costs and staying at the All Stars instead....what can you tell me about it? All info is appreciated! It will be me, DH and our two boys.

Thanks,
Lisa W.

We have stayed at ASMo twice before our first 2 cruises. We stayed in the Toy Story section. It was great! :) It was a hotel room...we didn't spend much time there. We ended up with a holiday rate of 55 including tax the 2nd time. :) We stayed at POP last June when we took a just WDW trip & didn't enjoy it at all. Next trip we will go back to the ASMo. The kids loved seeing the huge characters. You definitely felt like you were at Disney. :)

We booked this cruise onboard the 02/05 Wonder cruise but we don't know yet if we will keep the date. Work and other issues may get in the way so we may have to move our cruise. We also have not entirely decided if we will bring the kids or not. DH and I would love to have some alone adult time but we also don't want to feel guilty leaving the kids behind. DS will be 4 1/2 and DD will be almost 2. We booked for all 4 of us so at least the price won't go up if we decided to add the kids later.

Right now we have a Cat 9 stateroom 2618 booked but I am not thrilled with the location. I am hoping that if we stay with this cruise we can get a better stateroom. We were in 2614 for our Wonder cruise and LOVED the location. My fear however is that 2618 will be very noisy. I guess I will call periodically and see if any better rooms on deck 2 open up.

becka, hope you decide to stay with us! This is such a nice group of people :grouphug: and that can make a cruise really, really fun! :woohoo: :thumbsup2

becka-on the Magic, we stayed in 2608 and our friends were in 2610, 2612 and 2616 and we all LOVED the location. I'm a VERY light sleeper and I only heard noise the first night...sounded like something rolling above, several times. But after that night, I never heard it again. Our friends in 2610 also heard it but the others in 2612 and 2616 did not hear anything and the moms are all light sleepers also. Having stayed in 2614 you know how wonderful the location is, so I don't need to elaborate on that. I will point out that on the Magic 2610 and 2612 do not have the steamer trunk. The wall doesn't have niche for it like the other staterooms. Not sure why there's not niche but I know our friends were not happy about that...lots of clothes and no space!

On this cruise I wasn't able to get 2608 so we're in 2606. No guarantees, but I think you'll be fine with noise. And if you stay, we'll be deck mates, so to speak! HA HA.

Thanks Lisa-I was on the WDW website earlier and you just can't beat the price. I also saw on mousesavers.com that there's a 10% AAA discount but you have to book with WDW over the phone. I think we'd want to stay in the Toy Story section because my little guy is bonkers about Buzz. I'll have to request that when I reserve.

We've only been to WDW once and we were fortunate to stay at the AKL, which we loved. On that trip we were originally going to stay at the Caribbean Beach resort but we got a mousesavers.com newsletter that had discount codes for the AKL and the price was the same. When we got to the AKL they upgraded us to a savannah view and it was awesome. My kids want to stay there again, but the price at ASMo can't be beat. It looks like we're going to now come early (arrive 12/6) instead of staying after. Either way Ryan has to miss the same amount of school, so what does it matter?! And everyone says it's much better to do the parks before the cruise as opposed to after.

What is the dining situation like at the ASMo? I understand they only have food courts?

Thanks,
Lisa W.

Yes, they do have the food courts, which was fine with us. If you want to have your own food in the room to save a bit you can use the microwaves in the food courts. We made oatmeal, hot chocolate, & even easy mac & cheese for DD for dinner when we weren't at the park. We brought a cooler so we kept lunch meat for sandwiches. The Yahoo chocolate milk drinks do not have to be kept cold so those were great for the kids. We just stuck them in the ice bucket at night & they were cold by morning. :)

Oh, we surprised the kids with the TS section the first time. We were right in the couryard area around Andy's room. DD was 3 & would look out the window at night to say goodnight to Buzz. :) In the morning she crawled out of bed to say goodmorning to him. :)
