DCL wont discount upgrades until the day of boarding. I will be sending out a check in email at the 30 day mark giving people a couple days to respond. Those who haven't posted and don't respond to my email will be taken off the manifest. People will be logging in here up until the week before the cruise. Last year it was insane. One family had 5 rooms. They ended up not even participating. I am thinking that I will stop adding people to the group 2 weeks before we cruise? I mean at some point a newbie just can't jump in & wing it while participating in everything...KWIM?

Those of you who were on the mini meet with me know that it would be detrimental to the health of my family if he did our packing!!!

On the main board smoking thing - I chuckled thinking Caroline is on one side of me - not sure who is on the other. Uhm would I be polite about it if I smoked and she didn't or vice versa - well heck yeah she might write about me here. For the record we don't smoke.

I do have a PSA for everyone after reading on the main board that someone who leaves in 4 days cannot find her DH's birth certificate.

Everyone this week should make sure they have all of their birth certificates and/or passports. I would hate to see anyone in our group left behind because they misplaced their identification. I plan on going to our safe deposit box tomorrow just to verify.

DD made omelets for all of us for lunch, apple dumplings are in the oven. Now there is another mound of dishes to do and I have not even thought about dinner yet. Hmmm. Maybe apple dumplings will just have to be dinner. Fruit, grain (flour). If I add a scoop of ice cream that will add some dairy. Sounds like a well balanced Grandma dinner to me!

Sounds like a winning plan to me!

It was just a thought . Honest! It's that little kid inside of me that used to get silly on occasion at church. You laugh harder because you know its forbidden.

They won't discount upgrades until you are actually at the port. Calling even the day before, they will quote you the going rate as a new trip. We are, of course, all hoping for free upgrades , and some thinking of upgrading at the port at a significant discount.

I shared my secret disdain of candycorn - did I also mention I don't care for caramel apples. Yuck. I ordered those apples from William Sonoma = the fancy big ones are now available in small little ones. They looked so cool. Well we opened one this evening. WTH was I thinking - duh caramel under the chocolate. Yuck.

How much of a discount is standard.

On the day of you can get upgrades pretty cheaply. It would have been around 600 for us to upgrade from a 4 to a 3. Of course, we had only paid for an 8 so that would have been a fantastic deal. I am kind of glad that we didn't because I would have been spoiled to go back to a 10.
