Brandi,
Pixie dust and best wishes to your DCousin. :grouphug: Somehow a Smilie grouphug doesn't quite do it. :guilty: Please keep us posted.
The Howard Family.

I may have missed this in earlier posts. But, has anyone thought about a Dis Geeks United Recipe Collection?

Great idea! Hmmmm. We'd have crockpot meals, grilled steaks, girly drinks, weeknight meals, 101 uses for rum...

I just got off of the phone with DCousin. She is still getting worse. Her arm is in a lot of pain. The internal medicine DR told her that if she isn't improving until tomorrow she will have to meet with a surgeon. If that is the case she will be looking at having her hand cut open to relieve the pressure and infection. She is seriously hoping this does not happen as this will mean rehab and a lot of time off of work. I am also leaving for my meeting soon. I am literally sick to my stomach. Thanks for listening everyone...I really appreciate it.

I was bitten by a kitten when I was about 12. the kitten died the next day because my sister & I decided there were too many bugs around the kitten & our dog. we ended up using a bug spray that killed the kitten. we were afraid to tell our parents so they thought the kitten had died on its own. we ended up having to take the dead kitten to our local animal shelter so that they could verify that it did not have rabies.

I hope they figure out what is going on with your Dcousin. it is so frightening no knowing. with all the strange diseases out there--you never can tell. DD wants to go into veternarian work. I never really thought about how dangerous it could be. our prayers are with you. :grouphug:

good luck at the meeting tonight pixiedust: . sometimes the best thing to do is to unseat the incumbent and start something new. I have done it a couple of times in scouts--sometimes is works--other times it is just too much work.

well I finally took DS to the doctor today. he ran a 102 fever on sunday night, was fine during the day yesterday, fever again last night. I decided the heck with it and to take him to the doctor. doc looks at him as says "he doesn't have strep but let's test him anyways". well guess what, he does have strep, the second time within a month. he can't go to school again tomorrow--DH doesn't have any vacation time left for the year since we are taking two weeks at the cruise. OW, he is 11 so I think I will run into the office tomorrow and grab some things to work on. I had physical therapy yesterday for my back. man was I in some pain today. the therapist said it will get better but you must do your excercises. well I am not about to let my back get in the way of this vacation. well DD just caught a typo in my post, I guess it doesn't hurt to let someone proof it.

Brenda I really like getting pm from you guys, lets me know I am still part of the group. :teeth: Mum

But when you read the label, it says don't give to kids under 12. Will it harm the teeth or are they afraid he will swallow it?

One of our dentists recommended a rinse called Phos-flur (made by Colgate). I found it in Grape flavor. Apparently orthodontists recommended to kids with braces to help rinse everything out they can't get to.

Please send prayers for my DCousin. She is a wonderful person who is in need of any prayers she can get.

:grouphug: Prayers going her way.....

Nope, I just sent a PM to let him know we miss him, then he posted a couple. Maybe we need to hound him....fill up his PM box. :teeth:

That's just so wrong.......(CJS quote)

Prayers headed your way Brandi! I can't imagine how scary that must be. :grouphug:

I got all my grocery shopping but it sure does cost more when you are trying to eat healthy. All that processed not-so-good for you stuff is cheaper. :)

I did end up picking up a purple bottle of Tide to see what you guys are talking about. If it is as good as you guys say I will have to start watching for sales because it is pretty expensive.

Question for John1 since he is in the grocery business: What evil person decided that next to the 100 calorie snacks and low-cal desserts was the best place to put the mint chocolate covered Oreos?

You guys have NO idea how hard it was for me to not only not pick up the Oreos but just to get myself two aisles away quickly.

Is nothing I say innocent anymore? :confused3

Those mint ones are really really good. :thumbsup2 Don't even think what the points might be since they're the double-stuffed kind.

DH likes the peanutbutter flavored ones.

My kids have been using this for quite awhile (recommended by their dentist, too). Cherry flavor and mint flavor are the current favorites here. Bubble gum was not well-received.

I did a search for crock & recipe and am editing so that we can all search for them. I found the beer recipe...is that the one someone wanted???

RECIPE

waltsgirl said:
The recipe is so easy it's almost criminal...

I use a 2-3 lb brisket
1 bottle beer
1 large bottle Pace picante sauce
2 stalks celery(chopped)
(I add 1-2 carrots-chopped and 1 small onion- chopped-- This was not in the original recipe I just put it in and like it, so you don't really need it.)

Place celery, carrots, and onions in crock pot, next place the brisket in with fat side down. Pour beer and Pace Picante Sauce over brisket. Cook on high for 6-8 hours. I serve with mashed potatoes or noodles.

:sad2: I can't believe you just told me that. You must be related to the evil person who put them next to the 100 calorie snacks! :rolleyes1
