we have been struggling to get everyone well here in Cincinnati. DS has been running an on again off again low grade fever. He just doesn't look like he feels well and he isn't himself. I kept him home today. No fever until a little while ago and it was only 100.5. I am debating sending him to school tomorrow. Both times his fever spiked after getting out of the shower. I started physical therapy today for back problems. DS went with me to help me remember the excercises. I have to have therapy twice a week for the next month and we will see where we go from there. DD is struggling with allergies and sinus issues. DH is the only one healthy right now. This is so frustrating. I am normally a very active person but have been having back issues since early may. Turns out I have Progressive Degenerative Disk Disease. the physical therapist seems to think we can alleviate a lot of the pain with simple excercises. well if today is any idea, the simple excercises are not that simple. I hope I can get this under control before our cruise. my doctor prescribed celebrex but my insurnance doesn't want to pay for it. OW, life is hard sometimes but god never gives us more than we can handle. I missed the chat on friday--I was down with a migraine. hopefully I can get in this friday but believe it or not, my team is still playing softball. Just a brief update from Cincy. Hope everyone is doing well. Only 2 months and less than a week until we leave.
:grouphug: feel better soon!

after everyone got theirs! LOL

I'm glad to have them, though - I think it's the best when travelling anymore!
We got passports before our first cruise. It's just easier all around.
DH was born in Alaska and I was born on a military base abroad. If anything happened to our birth certs it would take a long time and a lot of red tape to get them replaced. Besides, what fun is it to get your birth certificate stamped?

We started them at around 2 also. I also started with a Ped dentist, but I got tired of driving 30 minutes away and he was only down this way limited days and hours. Taking the kids out of school was getting more difficult to go to the dentist. So now they go to my dentist and he absolutely loves them. They all are really good.
started taking mine soon after they got their first tooth.
just made appt's today for their next checkup in 3 weeks! :teeth:

I thought of that too. :rotfl: Some poor family looked at the DD.com site and thought "Hey! If we all wear these green shirts I will be able to spot the kids easily in the crowded terminal!" :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OK all you crockpot experts....what do I do with this situation?

I love my crockpot but most of the recipes call for something to cook 6-8 hours on low. That is great except I leave the house a little after 7:00 in the morning and the earliest anyone is home to turn off the crockpot is 5:00. 10 hours is just too long and things get dried out. I really want to be able to use my crockpot more this winter and I even found some suitable WW friendly recipes but I don't want overdried chicken, etc.. Can I just add twice the water to keep things from overcooking? Any ideas?
I dunno :confused3
I hope someone does, as I could've written your post! :bitelip:

I just got off of the phone with DCousin. She is still getting worse. Her arm is in a lot of pain. The internal medicine DR told her that if she isn't improving until tomorrow she will have to meet with a surgeon. If that is the case she will be looking at having her hand cut open to relieve the pressure and infection. She is seriously hoping this does not happen as this will mean rehab and a lot of time off of work. I am also leaving for my meeting soon. I am literally sick to my stomach. Thanks for listening everyone...I really appreciate it.

Tonight is Sunday School Teachers and Officers Meeting at my church. I decided to run for the president of the SS. I am very nervous. The woman who has been our president for the past few years has seriously dropped the ball lately. I have been doing a lot of praying and have decided to try and get elected. One of my good friends is running for the VP. We will be partners. I really don't want to anger this woman...but I don't think I can stand another 2 years with her "running the show." I don't really feel like geting into it all...but I think tonight will be the first she realizes that someone is running against her.
Best to you Brandi. I'm sure you don't want a "showdown" but, as you know, you also can't leave things as they have been. I'll be thinking about you.

I need to finish my grocery list but first I need to finish my menu for the week. Anyone have any great week night meal suggestions for me?
If the weather is cool, then baked potatoes are easy and you really can top them in a healthy way (of course, they can be loaded with butter, cheese and sour cream, too... yummmmmm). Oh, sorry, I got distracted. Some healthy things I like on potatoes are tomatoes, broccoli, salsa, roasted peppers.
Also like Mexican night at our house... everyone makes their own choices from what's available. Again, as healthy or unhealthy as you like. Only have to brown and season the ground beef/ground turkey.

I buy the frozen chicken tenderloins at costco and keep on hand for quick dinners - our fav is to marinate in italian dressing for a bit (15-20 min), the brown on the stove - serve with starch/veggie side dishes - quick and easy!
You can also brown them and add sauce (ragu, etc) or salsa and serve over rice.

Brandi, please keep us posted. I hope and pray that all turns out well in both situations. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Hey PJ - I thought I would share with you that I feel like I'm a stocker or a stalker...I never get a chance to write posts b/c i'm always working during the day, or catching up on everyone's posts, and at nights when you guys are sooo busy, I've got church meetings and PTO meetings or even hot tub meetings. Just thought I'd let you know that stocking and stalking are alive and well!!!
I feel like a stalker, too, sometimes!!

(gone back in time now to catch up - sorry for replying to old items! - some things are starting to make sense now! LOL)
