We are getting 40 lbs of Pinot grapes tonight from a friend who drives a Limo on winery tours. He made friends with some of the local vinters. :thumbsup2 Then Sunday DD is going to pick up some green grapes of some type for us also. We will be in the winemaking business again this weekend! :woohoo: We did not make any last year, but year before last's batch is tasting pretty good! :dance3: We plan to bring a bottle or three of the batch made 2 years ago for the wine tasting on the ship. MMMMM....

Angie, give me alll the details...place and time :teeth:

SO MrsMork what is your profession?
Patient Advocate. Complaint department for 45,000 Oregon veterans. Peacemaker between unreasonable staff and unreasonable patients. Actually, I love my job most days. Our medical center has not been very good in the customer service dept. the last few years and that has made my job quite difficult. Do I hear management problem, since we were the "Flagship" for the entire VA system in both customer service and in providing good healthcare several years ago. Don't get me going on our current senior managers. :sad2: I sent a message to all Sr. Managers at the end of last quarter saying our data shows an increase in complaints about rudeness each quarter for the past 6 quarters. Response from the Deputy Director was "raw data is of no value to us." 2 months later in a meeting with my immediate supervisor, the Director said he does not think we have a problem with customer service. :sad2:

Check Lisa's webpage for date and time. You MAY be busy right at the time, but I'm sure a toast could be saved for you if that is the case. :thumbsup2

and hershey is how far for you.....? what 175?

i know you are at least 50-60 miles from Philly. Philly is pretty much 110-120 miles from Hershey.

Depending on how you come across it not that much more of a trip.

Yes I looked that up. I didn't realize how far away it was :moped: . Probably why I have never been. :rotfl: I really want to go and the girls want to go somewhere also. I too have to be back Sunday afternoon, but my problem is Friday. The girls have gymnastics now and the teacher changed them to the next class. 6-7:30. We would have to skip it and there are only 8 classes. :scratchin

5+-9+6--5+-8--10

Can be also be:

5+(-9)+6-(-5)+(-8)-(-10) or

(5-9)+(6-(-5))+(-8)+10 or

5-9+[(1/2)0]+(1)(6)+5-5+5+(-1)(8)-(-10)

Do I need to go on or have I sufficiently scared enough of you already? :rotfl:

I hate math!!!

Doesn't that translate to

5-9+6+5-8+10?

I really shouldn't get started on this! That is so right Lisa, but he is trying, in a strange way IMHO, to get them to see the difference between them I guess.
Here's an example:

5-9+-6-10+-7+3 the would change that to:
5+-9+-6+-10+-7+3 then ADD them all

Last night they combimed what they have been doing and part of a problem went something like this:
4(9-6)--6+4
Sarah took added the -6 and 4 to get -2 so
4*3--2 and got
14 WRONG!

should have been 4*3+10=22

She figured you could add the -6 and 4 first, but you can't with the double negative. I may not be making sense, but I am still a bit irked at his way of teaching this...to me it is so much more confusing then it has to be.

I Love math - but never get to use it!!
Book exchange - sounds good to me!! I love books!!
Ipods - if any of you are getting new ones and want to sell old one, please let me know!
Sick kids - my little guy (yes, the one with the stitched-up, glued-up head LOL) had strep last week and the older one has been coughing for a week (keeping an eye on that).
Wedding on cruise - that is soooo COOL!! Congrats!
still catching up! hehehe

Caroline, we were talking to a 4th grader who came in to check out books to read during lunch today. She is observing the fast now too. She told the librarian that she doesn't eat anything until after sundown. Isn't 4th grade a little young to do that or are there different groups within the faith?

It is up to the child. Last year, DD, then 11, did it all day about half of the time. She too went to the library during lunch. This year she has gym everyday and is hungary all the time. Since gym is before lunch, she basically does a half day fast, eating lunch at 10:45 and fasting until around 7.DD 7 thinks it is fasting if she doesn't have anything to eat between breakfast and lunch, abd lunch to a regular dinner time. :rotfl: Last year she did a few half day fast and so far none this year, eventhough we all don't eat dinner until 7.

Our weekends have been busy with softball, so she doeasn't do an all day fast then either because she needs at least water while playing a sport. She eats before she plays too. I believe it isn't "required" until sometime after they hit puberty.
