Soccer games canceled; rain just ended, but they closed the fields because of all the rain over the past 2 days. Pictures still on for later today. Guess I just have to clean.

morning all!! trying to get motivated this morning! I forgot last weekend I set the phone to "wake up" call at 2:30am...(it was set for "weekend"), so yes the phone rang and then if you don't answer it it keeps ringing every 15min....ughh!

I hadn't heard about this until last night - the punter who was stabbed in the leg (of course his kicking leg) and the one who is a suspect is the back up! How awful....!

I am not saying this to anyone on this boards so please don't be offended!

What I have found with our PTO here is that is a few doing the work but the reason for that is that they want to control everything. Even when trying to get involved you still have to do what they want and do it their way and if you don't they will do it again so it's better to just let them do it to begin with!

I even fround this in HS with the choir. I wanted to get involved in the parents organization for DS choir and found it so frustrating that every time the newer parents tried to do something we were shot down by the way it was always done. Again better to just let them do it.
B I N G O!
I signed up on every volunteer list in Elementery School and was never able to get on a committe. Now in Middle School the Choir director is begging for a Choir Booster group but I can't get the leader she's chosen to call me back. Well I'm sorry but I'm not going to just sit back and write checks whenever she wants them. I want to be involved in a way that lets me get to know the kids.

The game went great! DD got right into it and looked like she knew what she was doing....after she understood which goal she needed to aim for. :lmao: We are waiting for DH to get back from the store so I thought that I would post some shots.

I wish that we had alot of parents who were willing to help at our school. :( Last year I wouldn't have cared how something was done as long as I didn't have to do it.

Of course, there are times when we are begging for volunteers, and only the "regulars" are working. Our school carnival really works best if every family takes one shift at a something (game/food booth/setup/cleanup). Only 45 minutes, but we hear from people all the time saying that they want to spend the carnival with their kids, not volunteering... yeah, and why are the rest of us working?!!

Oh that one really got to me last year. I didn't see my kids the entire day for the carnival. I was at the school from 7:30 am until 10:30 pm when we finished cleaning up for the night. Well, I did have to go pick up DS at a field trip because he had gotten sick and brought him back to sleep in the nurse's office while I continued working. DH was able to pick him up an hour later & he took DD home too. He brought them to the carnival. This year I will be spending it with my family. Last year's wounds are still too fresh. I need to seperate myself from it.

Good Morning Everyone! :wave2:

Lisa - Those pictures are great. It looks like your kids are natural athletes. :)

I am so tired this morning. DH and I were up until almost 1 when he finally gave up for the night on his wireless connection. Thankfully he knew enough to let me sleep in some after that. :rotfl: DD has had a bit of a cold this last week but it seemed to be getting better but this morning his nose is just as runny as it could be. I gave her some cold medicine and she went down for her nap really early. I think she will sleep for a while. We got her off her schedule last night with the picnic and WM trip so she is still sleepy.

DS seems full of energy this morning. Something tells me that he is going to be in some serious trouble by late this afternoon. He just has that attitude already this morning.

Did you at least remember to wear your hat?

Lisa, love the looks of fun of their faces! Great shots.

On PTO's we don't have them up here at least in the schools i went to. NOTHING! In HS all fund raising, spirit events, dances, field trips were organized by students and teachers. We had spirit (field day, 9th grade welcome, graduates breakfast etc.), dances, sports, fundraising, music, theatre committees filled by students and supervised by teachers. Along side of Yearbook and SAC. Even in public and midddle school no PTO's, :confused3 .

MICKEYPLAN!!!!

The official DDD tshirt design for the back of the green shirts is on the first page of the website. :) Thanks to PJ & Todd for their help getting this together. There is the copy with the green as well as the white background. I will do one more with the rope on the white background if you prefer that. The rope helps to create a border so that the color change doesn't stand out as much when you iron it on.

You need to get the dark transfer paper for iron ons and follow the directions on the package. Post here if you need any help. :)

BTW PJ, I found out that if you decrease the size of the picture to have the white border showing around it, the edge that you select centers on the edge of the picture. That is how I was able to get the whole piece of rope to show up. ;)

What team? That's terrible. :sad2:

I found some clearer images of the JR flag to convert into our Mickey flag. :)

DGS is heading up to the mall with his "best friend Sam" (Samantha), her mom (Hot Mama) and a couple of buddies. He and Sam have birthdays 1 week apart and they are going to Build a Bear (?) to celebrate together. I will be interested to see what he comes back with. Then we have pizza party for the two of them at 4:30. We will try to catch a little football inbetween. :cheer2:

Dennis is still sleeping. It is only 10 am here at west though. I don't know how late he stayed up, but he was researching Warts! online when I went to bed. :lmao:
